People look soooo much better when they let their natural greys grow in. The key is having your cuts/trims be in point and really keeping hair healthy. You look so lovely in your natural color.
My Lord her natural colour is soooooooo cool ! …just gorgeous on her, it’s amazing how our natural Grey hair colour is rarely bad on us, like box dye can be ..our natural colour just seems to suit our skin colour our eyes etc
Your hair is stunning. I have a very similar story - grey at an early age, colored my hair for years, pandemic happens and boom...here we are over a year later and haven’t looked back since. I wonder how many other women made the same decision?!
Becca, thank you for passing the light! I'm also a graphic designer, not as young as you are. I'm 51 now. I'm also going grey (the process began when I was 14 years old). I also definitively WON'T cut my hair short. NO WAY! Whenever I feel down, I look for "going grey" stories on RUclips to re-motivate myself. Yours is one of the best! Thank you! Braiding my hair in French or Dutch style braids mixes the grey hair with the red-hair (I used natural Henna for almost my whole life) in a very interesting way. Such braids plus long nice earrings. You might give them a try. ;)
I’m 41 and decided 3 weeks ago after my latest colour appointment to go natural. There are so many reasons, many already mentioned in the comments, and I also want to be a good role model for my 9 year old daughter. To show her that aging is natural, to not fight against my body, I want her to see what it looks like.
I'm the same age as you and recently came to the same decision. My mother hates looking older and is still dying her hair at 71. I'm loving seeing my silver hair streaks coming in!
Same exact story for me except add the hair dye stains that spotted my bathroom cabinets! I tried to bleach a few highlights for the transition and wish I hadn't although it helped with the blending of the sharp lines. But now that I have left my hair alone, I absolutely love it. It feels so liberating to be free of coloring. I get tons of compliments on the color. I am so happy that so many women are choosing to go natural. On days I feel like giving up, I just look at the many pictures of the gray beauties online and make it my determination to stay the course. Ladies, women have gold highlights and the silver ones are just as beautiful!
I've had grays since 19 and 35 years of coloring my roots ended 5 years ago with blonde highlights and root sprays. Nine months later I was silver! I'm white silver but I often have the most subtle pink or rose gold to my hair. I get so many nice comments and compliments about my silver or pinkish hair all the time! You have to do it when it's right for YOU!
Stunning! Being your authentic self inside and out is priceless and it's all about "acceptance", isn't it?! I am 7 months in my growing out. My hair doesn't grow fast because I am much older than you. But I, too, am embracing the process! You look fabulous, my dear! 🌼
Thank you so much! I have the same problem. I'm 42 years old and every month I think about stop colouring. Without success until now. 🙃 I hope your video helps me slowly to get to a new decision. Greetings from Germany!
Wow i love your gray hair very nice shades. I am 54 years old, in 4 months going on transitioning. I do not have even pattern of gray hair i wish they were all gray but not. But decided to go on and embrace them whatever the result. Happy to be free from chemicals.
Yes. Overnight decision but thought about it for years! I did all kinds of research and watching of videos. I am so glad I decided not to do a pixie cut just to get rid of the dyed hair quickly. I love seeing my transition and still having the long hair is a way for me to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. Absolutely love my regrowth and my curls that were fried out from coloring are back. Love all my natural highlights. Thanks for the video!
You’re hair is beautiful!! I’m 40 yrs old and I have some gray hair and like you want to stop coloring to hide but I realized how beautiful gray hair is…I just wish I had more gray hair like yours💖💖💖💖💖
She looks great with her natural hair color. Bravo to her! As for me, I'm not ready to go grey yet. However, I've stopped using chemical dyes and am now using henna. I touch up the roots every 2 or 3 months. Cheers to everyone!
My storie too! My hair is so smooth and soft now! I love it! It took me 1.5 years from the last dye to have the perfect white-gray hair that I dreamed of in my 45 years. And another 1.5 years for it to grow long and look silver in the sun. Just perfect!
Yes...the disgusting spray that gets under your nails when you scratch your scalp! Won’t miss that, and my scalp is less itchy too. So many positives! 👍🏻 Your hair looks beautiful! ♥️
Thank you i loved your video ❤ Im 44 and my first grey hair was found by a school friend when i was about 14 too. I was mortified and felt so ashamed. My natural hair is black. I started dye my hair from 19yrs old as there were more greys in my parting. I spent all these years dyeing to remain conventionally attractive. Don't get me wrong i love my natural black hair, but i realise Im also attractive with the grey. I am going to start transitioning as i really feel the chemicals in the dye have damaged my hair and scalp over th years. I hate the itch and sore scalp feeling, i hate tje schedule of booking around events. Its all BS beauty industry making women insecure so we buy their harmful products. I am of indian origin so I have dark olive skin, blck browns and lashes and great smooth skin. As I love classic red lipstick and black eyeliner I think the contrast with white hair will look good and maybe my hair will become thicker with less chemical damage from dyes. Thank you for doinv this video. You look beautiful.
Thanks for sharing your story! Your hair is beautiful. My first gray was discovered by a classmate who sat behind me in math class...he plucked it out and showed it to the whole class! That's my first gray hair memory....
Your hair has transitioned beautifully, and know that you give inspiration to women who just want to stop the madness with a dye. Which in a lot of cases on certain women who pick their own color with very phony.
I once overheard somebody once say dying your hair is like a dog chasing its own tail. Also You don't want to be putting those chemicals in your hair or on your skin. They are absorbed by the skin and then they have to be processed by the liver, the long term effects are unknown. My sister has recently stopped dying her hair after 25 years. She said it feels like a weight has been lifted of her shoulder ,and actually wish she'd never started. Another thing she said it was costing her £100 a time and a days leave approx once every month to be done by a professional,
you look amazing. I'm so surprised s o many gals go grey so young. I didnt start untill I was 60. right now I have a 6 week regrowth. for the 8th. time. LOL I seem to like it more this time so I'm going to try and let it go for the summer and then decide. :) hug friend connie
My story is incredibly the same!! Waoo...is like I was the one writing the entire thing!! The picture, the timing, the feelings, the thoughts...ALL OF IT IS ME . And now I'm embracing 100% this journey and LOVING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF IT. 💖 ❤
I have black hair, been colouring red for ages. A few month ago I decided I was fed up. I added lighter strands twice and yesterday I chopped of 2 inches and have a shag haircut. I'm happy
Every gray hair transition RUclips video features an attractive woman who would look good with green hair or even no hair. I’d like to see an average woman with difficult hair (coarse or thin or sparse) going through this transition.
You Look sooo pretty , I love it. ❤ I am 51 , I had brown hair and my first silver startet when I was 22. After years of dying I am going into my gray energy now. 🩶
Your grey looks like you colored it that color…… it’s looks so on trend but most look old & haggard but because you are so young it looks stylish & interesting
I know this will get a negative response but can women who hated their grown grey and look terrible post? I one I can't believe Im the only one. Not everyone can pull it off like you and so many other posters. Especially those of us of a certain age.
It’s absolutely fine to express what you think. But have you been on Facebook, there are several groups of women of all ages, features and colours flaunting their silvers confidently and supporting other women going gray.

At 46, I just started letting my grays grow out and stopping the monthly dye appointments. I’m really excited to see how it turns out!
Thank you so much for including me in your video and for telling our silver-haired journeys, Anjana!!! Grateful for you!
I decided to go gray too but I did a buzz cut - your gray hair is beautiful
I'm at the same stage of silver growth. The tone of your silver is beautiful. Really really lovely!

Love it! I'm from Tennessee too. I just decided to stop dying my hair last week. I'm so excited to see what my natural color is.
Hair just starts looking better and better. So interesting and glamorous looking. Looks soft too. Hope my hair gets softer too.
