The cherry on top is the fact that the cancellation of the show lead to a pretty bittersweet ending where Peter Quits from being Spider-Man after basically murdering his best friend
It really sucks when you read about the plans they had for season two like a new costume and distancing themselves from Raimi’s Spider-Man

MTV's Spider-Man really did "Pumped Up Kicks" before Foster The People.
I actually do like it when Spider-Man only jokes at certain times during his fights like here and the Tobey movies instead of having 1 come out every time he opens his mouth. It makes them more funny instead of overdone, like Marvel animated shows now
Na spectacular spider-man got it perfect. Yes every time he opens his mouth gets corny if done poorly. But in Tobey’s case he jus didn’t act like Peter or spider-man
This episode made me surprised how it was a dark mature spider-man series that max would off himself to only become electro. And the fact that he killed someone. Max didn't deserve what happened to him. max really needed a friend.
I got a box-set dvd with three of the episodes of this show, and I really enjoyed the stories that were told and messages that came from it, I just wish there were more people talking about it
I feel like this Spider Man was closer to the comics than every other show specially being in college while also being more matured, I hope MCU Spider Man 4 follows this as a complete new start, also Electro in this show was the most terrifying thing as a kid in fact probably the most scariest iteration lizard as well.

I knew a kid in high school who was sorta like Max, but he never lashed out or anything. But it was sad our friendship dissolved because he wanted so badly to be with the cool kids who'd always make fun of him while I would never try to hurt him (from what I can tell, nobody really liked him except me). Now, he eventually did make a name for himself, but there was always this vibe that we couldn't be friends because I "wasn't cool". Still, I wish him the best 🙏🏽
This series could use a relaunch.

Back when I rewatched this show again at 16, I watched this episode for the first time; never saw it back in 2003. I felt bad for Max at first but it is hard to feel bad for him when he just goes to those guys to “be cool” . If there is the type of teens thT I hate since I was 15, it is those who think trying to be with the popular crowd of people who aren’t even important or worth being around as if it will solve all their problems.
I said it back when I was 16 and I will say it again: Teens say being a teen is hard but more often then not they are making being a teen hard for themselves because they are belong a whole bunch of nonsense that is of any importance.
The only sympathetic contributing factor I have for Max is him being a bullied victim.
Sometimes as we get older we tend to forget that for these teens right now it is the biggest moment in their life’s they don’t have the luxury of perspective like you do. Simply because they haven’t lived long enough, it’s the reason babies cry when they bump their head it’s their first time experience that pain. So for them in this show the characters in college it is their most important thing. I don’t know food for thought
@@Venxous the reasons I never found such things to be so important is because I see there are more important things to worry about. I said before back in highschool and my freshman to junior year in college and I will say it again:
“You don’t need to have a fully developed brain to comprehend sheer common sense like that.”
I have been where Max is and my parents did nothing to help me and say I was being bullied because I must’ve been bothering people. I was sexually harassed, beaten, and verbally assaulted. That is why I feel for Max but part of my sympathy goes away with how he is willing to kiss ass towards folks he doesn’t know and degrades Peter when Pete is one of the few people who treats Max with kindness.
