Had a Morris 1300 but BL car so needed new engine after 35k easy to work on in them there day's. I would not know how to work on my car now , I would need a degree in electronics. You hold the advantage over meNace you got your dream my choose was taken away from me electrical work. I was engineering pattern maker. As you may remember.take care all the best to you and your wife. Rob.
That lady right at the end has it right. There will always be rip off governments, taxes, scams etc. Life really is too short - just make the best of what you can!
Hilarious! Especially the bit at 4.15 where he's underneath it and it's supported on nothing more than the pathetic wheel jack that came with the car. The BBC would have kittens these days, and offered him counselling.
Blimey, I was done .In 1971 I bought a similar Austin 1300 2-door for £555 .Jack Pitzy should have held on to it for a further 53 years and would have made a profit assuming the rear subframe mountings hadn't rotted away !
£10 seems cheap until you compare it to the wages at the time. However they don't factor in the savings on public transport fares. Mum, Dad and the kids to South Wales and back for the Summer holiday wouldn't be affordable by train. (edited for typos)

Hi Bob I don't think folks wash the car on Sunday mornings now, let alone service them, it's straight into the car wash. 👍
