    One battery save tip which seems to have legs among experienced sony a6000 users is to go into the menu and turn ON the airplane mode. Supposedly keeps the camera from searching for wifi to send uploaded photos.

    I bought my A6000 in 2021 as my first camera and it's amazing. I still use it today. I bought it with my 16-50mm lens and 55-210mm, and just recently bought my first prime lens (sony 50mm). It's an amazing camera, would definitely recommend as a starting camera!

    I primarily shoot Canon for portrait stuff...but recently bought an older used 6400 for travel and just walking around. It's small and light and inexpensive if something were to happen to it.

    The A6000 was my first alpha camera, coming from using cybershots, 2018 I moved to full frame with the A7iii. Five years later I invested in Gmaster & G series glass. Sure I did miss the compact travel light friendly from the APSC but now I own an A7cii for my everyday, holiday family camera.

    • @chancetalkscameras
      @chancetalkscameras  7 месяцев назад +2

      I upgraded to the a7iii last year and, to be entirely frank, I've been taking my a6000 out a lot more recently. I just can't be arsed to shoot with my huge camera. If it's for a paid shoot, sure, but I'm really loving using a small camera again.
      The a7cii will likely be in my future. :)

    I've had my Sony A6000 since the camera was released in the UK, I use it every week as I took up photography when I retired early from teaching at the University of Manchester ( Retired due to health at aged 46 ) I did a Photography course and that was it I was out all the time taking pictures. I also have a DSLR a Nikon D60 with a 200mm Zoom Lens and 35mm wide angled lens.
    Regarding my A6000, I have some vintage lens ; Ricoh , Meyer and a Sigmer Lens. I also have 4 extra Non-Sony batteries to use when I'm out and about just in case I'm somewhere where I cannot use a charger.

    • @chancetalkscameras
      @chancetalkscameras  Месяц назад

      Awesome! Crazy how, even when we have "better" gear, we always end up taking the small camera out. :) For vintage I currently own a Canon FD 50mm F1.8, but I've used a bunch of Konicas and a few other random weird ones.

    Very interesting video! I've seen several of your videos lately, and, great stuff!
    I've got a Sony RX100M7 and an A7RIII. Great cameras. The RX is very compact and filled with technology. But it is limits of what that 1 inch sensor can do. The A7RIII is a beast. And also very big to bring along in some situations.
    I think an aps-c camera could complement as a middle way camera (I know; developed country luxury issue). And I could use some of my full frame lenses too.
    I'm considering a Sony a6500. The a6600 ond surely the a6700 are too expensive. But the a6500 is not too bad priced used. The reason I'd like to go for this one is the IBIS, which I think is important.
    Again; great work. Thanks for sharing.

    btw I'm looking for a second hand camera as my first one. I can't decide if I should buy a6000 which is super light or buy some old dslr like canon 750d. They are at the pretty close price in my country (750d is a little bit cheaper). However, I think I can get a prime lens at much cheaper price if I go with dslr. This is a hard decision for me. any advices?

      Definitely the a6000. A mirrorless camera is so much more advanced than old DSLRs, plus with the a6k you can get a lot of super cheap manual focus lenses (like the Meike 35mm ruclips.net/video/BIdZj4Tl2oc/видео.html)

      I edit all my photos, so probably. I don't think I have the edits saved for those specific photos though. For many years I tended to edit with the sort of stereotypical orange/teal style (though muted). If you're looking to get that "effect", it's pretty easy in post processing :)

      Not really many options at the same price point that I can think of. The closest would probably be the ZV-E10 as it offers an audio jack, flip out screen, etc. It's a lot more video focused than the a6k.
