I was a heroin addict for years after being injured in Afghanistan. One day, I snorted what I thought was a Perc. It was fentanyl. That's the last thing I remember until I was being resuscitated in the back of an ambulance. The crazy thing is that when I came to, all I could think about was getting more of that. I'm coming up on 10 months clean this month.

Way to go. Opiate addiction here as well. Coming up on 14 years clean. I can totally relate with those cravings. They're God awful that most people just don't understand. They aren't a matter of will-power or a moral failing. Our brains are still healing and crying out for that outside source of dopamine. Thank you for your service to our country.

I had a great life before I got on blues an amazing job, money, nice car, my life was great. Until I got on that shit and started losing everything and stealing from my loved ones…
I had to totally hit rock bottom to finally understand that my life was going to hell If I kept doing those blues.
I promise man it’s not easy to get off them but I guarantee you one thing… the more you keep on the more you’ll do for them.
I am 1 year clean from them and going very strong after losing everything, if I was able to do this then you can to!

High tolerance and I overdosed in my restroom. When I did wake up I couldn't walk or see straight. I know I wasn't breathing for some time. Why because it happen 2 times. The second time I fell out it was much more mild..my poor wife and 2 kids just watch everything I do now because they are so worried for me. It makes me feel terrible to know my wife listens and wakes up at night when I use the restroom because she believes I may die. However I'm not gonna die from it. Currently on Suboxone and plan to be for no more than a few weeks. I cannot have my wife walking around packing narcane, like wtf. I'm good, and this is from someone who's struggled from a young age. Problem with me, you cannot really tell because I've kept up physically for the most part and have had sober years.

I had relapsed last year because I went off the suboxone & chose to get high once I started kicking. So please if you ever get the urge to use again fight it for your families sake or just take the suboxone. It’s a much better alternative to fentanyl as I’m sure you already know. I really do hope the best for you. I’d like to get off suboxone myself, I’ve been slowly tapering off it & it seems to be working. Best of luck to you, I’m glad you have a family that cares. But I got clonidine and some other stuff for RLS and some lorazepam for anxiety.. lorazepam was only a 3 day prescription the clonidine honest to good helped and made it easier. Sleep is the last thing to come back. I'm averaging 6 hours of sleep a night but hopefully by this time next week I can sleep. Your body will hurt and be winded for about a 2 weeks but it gets easier.

To make a long story short, I've quit a few drugs in my life with relatively no problems, but nothing has ever had a hold on me like Fentanyl as i'm to the point of being homeless and dead within the year and that scares the he77 out of me!! I'm trying to get to my 1st day clean as I'm weaning myself off. I start to have withdrawal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, leg cramps which are so bad I end up using some to ease the withdrawal symptoms which just puts me back on the opioid train. For some support, I'm going to try a Church that's very close to me since the Pastor is a recovering addict with 25+ years clean. I've also been before and like the way it's run. I figure if anyone can understand he will, or at least I hope so. To those fighting to get/stay clean I wish you the best..
EDIT: In looking at the program at Tree House Recovery I wish there was a similar program that took Medicaid. I used money I was going to buy a car with and spent it at a Detox Center that said they also had Therapy for PTSD and other mental issues. What I didn't understand was I was only paying for the detox part, The Mental Health treatment was separate. I keep trying though.. Here's their link... treehouserecovery.com/

They put in rods & screws ans it was the worst thing they ever did . I can barely walk now. And now my pain management clinic doesn’t 6:30 want Togo to give me
    Pleasehelo get the treatment

@@starlily3291 personally I can’t do rehab or shit like that cause it just doesn’t work for me. I basically just sat down with myself and looked at everything it was fuckibg up for me and ultimately decided I was done. Until you do that you really can’t do anything. So make sure they actually want to get clean. Another thing,, suboxone helps but not for a long time. I suggest literally using one single sub, and cut it into small parts taking less over a course of 4 days. Don’t touch it until over 35 hours of active withdrawl though. Your friend is really the only person that can help themselves so it’s really just up to them. N/a meetings help me a lot, they should try out in or out patient treatments though if they’re not able to do it themselves. They are proven to help so many people and treatment plans save lives!!! They should find a home group and a sponsor also if they don’t already have.

Saying that there is no way I would touch fentanyl. The only times I was exposed too fentanyl is during my C-Sections and after for 2 to 3 days. The description he gave was very accurate. So yeah it has alot of medical use but my opinion is it should only be used in medical settings cause it’s to dangerous otherwise

To anyone wanting to come off fentanyl without going to rehab I will offer one piece of advice that will make it much easier. Benzos, especially diazepam literally saved my life. Ironically I got addicted to fentanyl by taking what I thought was diazepam. So you have to be careful because they are putting fentanyl in many tablets you buy on the streets. But thankfully on my third day of detox I got hold of genuine diazepam and it made it so much easier. The severe anxiety, restlessness, body tremors and insomnia (literally no sleep whatsoever) made me feel like I was in my own personal hell. But taking diazepam took the edge off all these things and thank God I was eventually able to sleep. So there is my piece of advice for what it’s worth.

Heroine? Really? It’s Heroin. It’s a trade named by the first producer, Bayer, who also made Aspirin at the same time. How does a channel that’s supposed to be professional not know this?

I'm detoxing now from this drug. It'd not fun and I'm in lots of pain. Even after taking suboxone. Don't do this drug.

The street names are going to very based on your region. If you have others that you think would be useful for others to know, please list them in a comment.

Guess What! Don't do drugs and you won't have an addiction. I'm sick and tired of hearing all of these "Poor Me" stories about people's addictions. You addicts chose to take drugs, no one forced you. How about taking responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others or family life etc. for your drug addictions. But we live in a "Poor Me" world now full of weak people who can't handle life. It's crazy how prevalent drugs are in our society, and if you don't do drugs you're looked upon as strange or a weirdo. Our society isn't being destroyed by drugs, such as Fentanyl, it's being destroyed by the weak-minded people who take these drugs. By the way, drug addiction and alcohol addiction are not diseases, they are chosen ways of life, real diseases are Cancer, Polio, COVID, and no one has ever chosen to have them. Again, if you didn't do drugs, you wouldn't have a drug addiction. Also, don't tell me I don't know what it's like, I grew up around drugs and alcohol and chose too never do either, but I had plenty of friends who did, and many of them are dead now because of their addictions. I have absolutely Zero Sympathy for any Drug addicts or anyone who is addicted to Alcohol. You chose that life, now deal with it and stop crying the Poor Me tears.

If you are sick and tired of hearing stories about addiction, it may be a good idea to avoid watching videos about addiction.

You’re pathetic to ever judge anyone especially if you’ve never been in there shoes , karma is a bitch my friend , you have no idea the amount of pain wether it’s mentally or physically someone is going through , not all “ addicts “ want to be “addicts”, they want to be as normal as they first was before ever touching any drug , especially if that drug makes you feel normal & can get you through your days , that is often times why people self medicate , don’t knock people especially if you’ve never been down that path or don’t know anyone who has , it’d be a real sad case if you’d end up & addict years from now because of this stupidity of a comment , & it doesn’t even necessarily have to be yourself , it can happen to anyone around you , be careful what you say. You or someone close to you can easily be in this persons shoes if you have no type of emotional support , support in general. A lot of people who started fentanyl didn’t realize it was fentanyl until it was to late. Also everyone in this planet has some form of an addiction wether it be from drugs to anything else you’d “ normal things to cope “ not many have that luxury. @Violet Eyes

My son Dylan passed away from fentanyl poisoning on March 17th 2023 in California. The man’s couch he died on knew Dylan was overdosing and didn’t call for help. This man sat Dylan up on his couch and left to do errands. Me living in Wisconsin called the police immediately, they couldn’t send anyone out because we didn’t know the apartment number just the complex. So I pleaded and begged this man to give me his apartment number, he refused. He has not been charged with anything, yet he knowingly hindered Dylan and us from getting Dylan the life saving treatment he needed. Dylan was seven blocks from a hospital. My heart will forever be broken as my only child was taken from me. Dylan should have justice. Dylan deserved much better than to die alone on Eric’s couch.
