We were recently back in Vancouver, BC for a few days and since Patrick didn't travel with his cello, we recorded a few solo piano pieces that have been on our "must do" list for awhile. We've had tons of requests for this beautiful piece by Ludovico Einaudi - we hope you enjoy! Einaudi is an Italian contemporary classical composer well-known for his minimalist music and film scores. We're fans! We recorded this at the famous Warehouse Studio (owned by Bryan Adams!) in downtown Vancouver. (Also, Patrick filmed this and hates that he moved around so much in this take...but it was MY best take so we had to use it! He wants everyone to know it's not his best work! 😂😂😂)
You guys are just AMAZING!! There are no words how to describe you guys!! I always feel like I'm in heaven whenever I hear your breath taking pieces! I got so inspired by the piece "Toto Africa" and started also playing it on the piano. I'm starting on this one for sure! You gust should go to AGT because you need to win it and let America know how much passion and dedication you put in all your gorgeous pieces! I love you guys and know that I am your #1👆 fan!❤❤ Also another thing, is Vancouver in Canada? I've heard of it before and people say it's a really beautiful place. I would love to meet you guys!❤
It's a beautiful piece and there's nothing wrong with the camera work. Great job. Just listened to another recent upload, and loved it. You take these new pop songs that I either don't know or wouldn't care for if I did, and turn them into the most incredible arrangements. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
This is the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard. Marnie Laird is so delicate and intentional in how she plays. Gosh its just beautiful. I have listened to this version hundreds of times. It inspired me to finally start taking piano lessons in my 30's. After almost 3 years, I am FINALLY learning this song. I could cry I'm so happy.
I mean, you're without a doubt a very talented pianist, but this piece really shows off how especially your timing and sensitivity is just impeccable; it's so satisfying to watch and listen to as a fellow (FAR less talented) pianist. You motivate me!
@@tristanwashington3214 I did ^_^ i feel too much of pleasure. Music is the best part of my life. You need to learn it, too. you'll be a happy person :)
Gott segne Dich!
Marnie , This performance is breathtaking! The Lord has blessed you with great technical skill, but the greater gift that He has blessed you with is that when you play your fingers are an extension of your heart MIke
Never have I ever heard anyone play this and it sound anywhere near as lovely as Einaudi himself. And then I heard this... absolutely gorgeous, stunning rendition ❤
I don't understand how someone would not appreciate this. You may not like the piece, but she plays the piano is a such beautiful way that is impossible not to recognise that. Congratulations.
Still one of the best arrangements of "Nuvole Bianche." Laird infuses just the right amount of emotion and heart into her playing. You can tell she's a master of her craft and plays with skill, ease and passion. A pleasure to listen to her play.
I have tried to listen to different versions of this by different musicians but I always end up right back here because it’s simply the best version out there. And as much as I would love to see your finger work all the way through, I dig the movement and different angle that Patrick got for this video. He’s a true artist even without his cello!
I completely agree-Marnie’s ability to convey emotion through her piano playing is mesmerizing. Her stage presence, combined with her mastery of dynamics, creates an intimate and enchanting experience. It’s not just music; it’s storytelling at its finest. And yes, her serene expression while playing adds an irresistible charm!
BEAUTIFUL! Einaudi is an incredible composer! This song is so beautiful and carries so much emotion. Beautifully played, Marnie! Hope y'all enjoy the rest of your trip in Vancouver! Also, hope you had a great birthday yesterday, Patrick! Great filming, Patrick! 🎊🎉 Lots of Love from Ireland! xo 🧡☘️ #weekendtune #fanfavorite #brooklynduo
Seriously. Who would thumbs-down this magnificent performance? How about a bit of constructive criticism instead of anonymous distain? I hope you, Mr Thumbs-down, have a beautiful afternoon, and maybe give this one more listen. Marnie...that was exquisite.
There is some sad people out there that just want to see the world burn. In a way their thumbs down is a compliment. It meant she pissed them off with her talent so much they had to express their anger, with both her and their own lives. It’s a compliment in loser form..
I'm a super realist oil painter, and I have made people cry looking at my work... But... I would trade everything I am to have been a classical music composer. Music is the highest form of art. Music makes ME cry. What I would give, to be able to play the beautiful piano. ❤❤❤
You know, I think this whole "Oooh - I have a broken elbow!" thing of Patrick's is getting a little out of hand. It's only a bone, for goodness sake! When I was a kid, I had to crawl with no sleeves through the snow, to school and back, uphill both ways, with TWO broken elbows - but did I make a thing of it? NO - you won't find one video of me complaining about it. AND .. I love this piece, thank you Marnie.
There are two ways to play this song: SLOW and expressive OR passionate and strong. This is the best example of the latter that I have found to date. Absolutely wonderful!
I love how international music is cos I'm literally from the other side of the world and we're all here getting the same thrill and feelings at how beautiful this is Plus, this is one of my favorite piece, Einaudi is such a genius *Thank you*
wow this recording is great. So many people play this piece on YT but just with the start one can tell that the pianist is very skilled and could play virtuose pieces without problems
I started piano this year and I have been working on this song this whole past year now and it is coming along great so far, I am hoping by the end of 7th grade it will be done and I can show the whole class. I am in 6th grade going into 7th grade.

This is the best play I've ever seen. Most of pianist on youtube play as fast as possible starting from the first notes, which I really don't like. Your timing and feel of the tune is fantastic. Downloaded to watch and watch, and watch...
I know you probably wont see this... But your video specifically has gotten me the worst possible withdrawal symptoms imaginable. I cant give you enough thanks to express my gratitude for being here for me during the loneliest and most difficult life path ive ever taken and that is to get sober and stay that way.
