Seems bizarre to give such lengthy explanations as to why an exercises is useless. Would be great to see a simple top 5 or best exercises for runners, checked the channel and came across more videos about what not to do, as opposed to what to do.
Great question. Because the exercises I mentioned were all isolation exercises, I wanted to give mostly isolation exercises as alternatives. I also kind of assumed that if a runner was in the gym and doing quad extensions, etc. they'd probably already be doing squats, etc. I think if you look at the actual research on all the exercises suggested (much of which is highlighted in the video), they are extremely effective for runners.
@@runnersconnect Yes they probably are effective. I'm just so surpriced why hardly no one metions the elephant in the room, which to my mind would be a strong focus on the squat, perhaps 3 sets of 5 reps, and a real emphasis on progression with this main exercise. - To my mind we would be better off just doing the barbell squat and do it with real intent.
Really good tips...time and focus is precious. Tks
Great video! Please keep them coming! Thank you 💪
Thanks!
Can I use a fabric resistance band around both ankles at home for that middle exercise?
Yes you can! I just did the machine since we were talking about people already in the gym.

Why not the Barbell Squat? Or even the Deadlift? You are still suggesting pretty inefficient exercises.
