Imagine knowing someone who interacted with Genghis Khan and King Henry III. That’s essentially what it’d be like like to talk with Yoda. He’s seen so much.
Would be something if few humans lived as long as Yoda.. some good, some evil and how a world could learn, or become from such life longevity.
That's a pretty interesting perspective.
Genghis*
Or a little more accurately Darth Kaan and Lord Qordis. I’m aware Yoda likely never met these Sith as he only joined the order more or less after their time.
Unlikely but possible, Henry III was born in 1216 and Genghis died in 1227
But was Luke really “the grand master” or more like “the last guy in the room”
hey I get what you are saying, if all catholics die bar one that one dude becomes the pope...
So wouldn’t Rey be the grandmaster after EP 8?
@@SowDah_ yeah man, she's "every Jedi." She's not only the grandmaster, but the grandmaster of all grandmasters. Uncontested in every way, she perfectly embodies all the lore surrounding the Jedi despite no prior ties and having a Sith for a grandaddy.
He was the son of a being conceived by the force itself, pretty sure he was one of the strongest force users ever born lol
@@julianthethief Anakins conceiving only really occurred as a counter reaction by the force, when Sidious and Plagueis attempted to control the force to such a degree that they could create the perfect Sith. The force didn't like that, so it counter reacted and created an immensely powerful force user that was an equal mix of both and thus the prophesized "One" who would bring balance to the force, by Anakin literally being a physical manifestation of that balance.
Now Rey is the grand master.
She has trained for a full one week.
lol
She better then yoda and babay Yoda!!

We need a Yoda origin story about his time as a young Jedi Knight.
No, one of the best parts about Yoda is the mystery surrounding him, I feel that we could get some snippets of past him in other shows that may be created but I along with a lot of star wars fans would prefer Yoda stay shrouded in mystery.
I would like to see him be lured by the Darkside. Not taken, but simply Lured. I haven’t read any books or anything like that but I heard of a story where he allowed himself to be taken by the Darkside for a brief moment but he was powerful enough to reject it. He did it to showcase how powerful he would be. Something along those lines. That would be cool. Maybe if he was taking just a little bit by the Darkside when he was young, it might explain his disgust for it in his later years. I would like a Yoda origin story as well, but just to be clear, I don’t think it should just be a happy sunshine movie about how good Yoda is.
@@specUVdust No rainbows and sunshine but give the story about how he became a Jedi and who his master was and maybe what it was like during the old republic. That should be the kind of show disney makes instead of going back and adding stuff that contradicts the old movies.
@@specUVdust in Clone Wars, we seen his dark version when he went on the quest to manifest his consciousness after death
@@khalelrussell2271 I just recently started watching the series, and I have not gotten to that point yet.
Star wars lore has shown that it will continue to grow. Each story can be expanded upon for at least another 40 years. A Yoda story delving into his past would be absoltely epic.
I like the idea a LOTTTT more that Yoda was a sub par Jedi at first and through hundreds of years of hardcore training, with his age and wisdom, became as powerful as he is. His slow aging allowing him to become so powerful.
Happens with boxers to. Jersey Joe Wallcott a good example
I love it that when he talks about how a lot of the Jedi lacked significant understanding on how to be a Jedi Knight, he shows a picture of Rey! 🤣🤣
I just wanna know how op yoda was in his younger days cause that old man was making people look silly 🤣
His dueling was better because of his young age. His force abilities were far worse. So overall he was weaker.
@@obsidianfrost9514 yeah that is true 🤙🏼
@Obsidian Frost at 300 years old he would know far more about the force then anyone. And midi-chlorian was far more then any jedi before Anakin. Which give the a jedi more power overall. So at 300 years old he would be at his prime dueling would be epic force ability also at his prime being he would have more energy. I've always wanted to see Yoda at his prime in a battle.
@@michaelwachendorf2096 Wooow, so basically he wouldn't even be able to duel anyone or face anyone in combat, for fear they would be destroyed, Unless he was able to keep his emotions completely in-check, Yoda style.
@@jackkovar7806 which leds to him being so complacent and uninvolved directly in a lot of the conflicts we see in the clone wars. Which in turn was the downfall of the republic era Jedi
Lore like this i why Star Wars is one of my fav works of art yet, imagine the amount of time Yoda has seen for these events!
One thing I dislike about star wars is you never know what's cannon or not, and pieces contradict one another. Its hard, for me at least, to keep track
Wow, I have learned so much about Star Wars but never even thought to think about this, great video thanks!
We need a Yoda movie ong
It would be good to flesh this story out in SWU. I like the idea of Yoda going back to Dagobah because it is known to him and that he was initially trained there. A pivotal world like that should be explored more. If Hamilton's alien can be used, all the better since its an agreement of sorts and social contract with fans. Disney reneging would be bad form tho if I'm being honest, it's not my favorite alien design.

The fact that we haven't got a Yoda movie or TV series is beyond me. So much Content
Love it!
i want a yoda prologue movie so bad
Still never made sense to me how Yoda didn’t mop the floor with Count Duku.
I mean, he kind of did. Ever seen Dooku run from a fight? Let alone within 2 minutes... He was on the back foot and Yoda was toying with him.
Faye likely was a multiple form user but likely a form six specialist as she was probably a warrior during her youth but switched to more of a librarian and teacher. It’s the exact thing form six was made to address. Faye didn’t need that much practice and could devote time to figuring out the Jedi order and talking to the senate. It also was the perfect basis to teach the padawans as she would know every form and teach it right. Plus her species wasn’t exactly violent much and were very peaceful if you think about it.
Interesting analysis and a sound argument. It makes sense to me. Will canon ever prove this right? I hope so.
Gotta suck for anyone aspiring to be grandmaster to lose your chance to a gnome that will live for another 800 yrs
All of this retconning has the Star Wars time line in shambles .

Can you make a video about which Clone Wars Era Jedi fought against Sith Lord's? If there were many anyway
Stupendouswave needs to be our New GRANDMASTER OF THE JEDI
Most learned, grandmaster, Yoda is.
Word on the street is before Grand Master Coven there was Grand Master Funk. ✨️
If Yoda remembers her when he was an infant, then there must've been a gap in time when there wasn't a grandmaster, right?
That's certainly possible. Grandmaster seems to have historically been a military title, and it may be that with the war over, the Order didn't see the need for one. Given that the vast majority of Yoda's tenure was completely peaceful, it's possible the Grandmaster title was just given to him honorarily out of respect for his extraordinary power, which could easily have happened after he had already become the senior member of the Council.

Yoda was alive when darth zannah was.
Grand master coven left the Star Wars to hunt diggnanobs in the 40k universe as a Grey Knight
I like to believe all sci-fi movies exist in the same universe but just extremely far away from each other, where other civilizations have learned how to manipulate matter and space in different ways. Like the force with Star Wars in one part of the universe, and the warp drives with Star Trek, and how ever “REDLINE” travels the galaxy and having races on different planets.
I'd imagine if such a thing IS the case they'd shared it maybe with the Battlestar Galactica series of a few years back or the Mass Effect universe. Since those theorized bout the incredible vastness of space an that it takes up to millennia to get anywhere normally. BUT some convincing fan fics also mesh the 2 of Trek an SW together very well an they can be played off realistic so maybe
Is there any information about what happened to Yoda's human companion after they were rescued?
Maybe Yoda was grandmaster for too long? Maybe the Jedi needed a newer younger mind to lead them
Don't mean to be a bore but as Game of Thrones showes, an old Knight is a damn good Knight. But then again a sharper mind is still needed now and again!
That is why Mace Windu was the master of the order and actual person running day to day affairs of the Jedi Order.
Great info here! What is the lifespan of Coven’s species?
approx 70 years for non force sensitive, so probably closer to 100 for force sensitives, as they normally seem to live 25% or so longer. Or more with deep mediation, but we won't include that.
Technically life can be indefinite, maybe not for a jedi for "moral" reasons, but grey Jedi? Who knows
Jedi Grandmaster Fei Coven was a SAVAGE JEDI GRANDMASTER
When I see the scene from episode 3 where Yoda’s robe gets caught on the metal stake, I wonder if Palpatine thought Yoda was dead…pierced by the stake and his body vanished (knowing this was possible with force) and that’s why there was never a search for Yoda in the original triology. Yoda being on a planet with such a dark side presence merely helped disguise this fallacy from being uncovered
I mean palp literally said 'then he is not dead, search the area...'
I really wish they would do a Canon animated series that shows yodas younger years and what the older order was like
SWKOTOR will show u what the Jedi was like along with the Mandalorian wars set a couple of thousand years be4 Yoda, Vader, Luke etc.
200 year long series?
Thought Windu held the title for a brief moment before the clone wars
They need to do a star wars the beginning. Movie how it all started

Well, now we know who’s idea the Jedi Gardeners was lol.
So Yoda remembers the Grand Master as an infant but he trained as a young adult after crashing on a planet??? Did I misunderstand something?
Right
@@georgericher3996 I understand the aging but I think you missed the point. If Yoda was introduced to the ways of the force and began his training as a young adult on a remote planet, then he couldn’t have been at the Jedi temple and remember the Grand Master as an infant. Those statements contradict each other.
@@marlonwilson5577 your probably right it was just my initial thoughts on your statement
Unless Yoda was taken away by the Grandmaster and was with her for a while (in another part of the galaxy, away from the temple) and then placed onboard a ship that later crashed on Dagobah?
He read about her in a newspaper obviously.
Man I hope Disney tackles some of these epic older stories
Man, I hope Disney sells Star Wars back to George Lucas so he can tackle some of these epic older stories
The Grand Master could be played by Natalie Dormer. Looks close!
I think her changes and restructuring of the Jedi order led to it's slow stagnant death. Struggle is how we grow. Without it we stagnate and die, and that's what happened to the Jedi. Each new generation was weaker than the previous and numbers were fewer as they kept raising standards to join, creating the service corps to control those they didn't keep. I hate the sith, but the Jedi became absolute trash after the Rusaan reformations.
They got weaker because of the Sith Shrine that their temple was build under.
Yes they were to be more like a mix of Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, and Obi Wan. Jedi were to learn from the Light and the Dark and be a "Light Grey - Jedi" .. using an early 1900s phrase, willing to walk softly and carry a big Stick. Jedi were to be like a Warrior in a Garden speaking of peace, which is better then being a Gardener in a War, speaking of combat.
@@wargaurdian6010 no they kept the dark side weak in that space by being there. Letting darkness spread through the galaxy by being the republic's guard dogs weakened them. They were done the day they tied their order, hence fate to the republic's
@@jeremygrant6145 I agree to an extent.
Their decline is a bit more nuanced than that. A big factor was when they tied their actions to that of the Republic leadership. Power and influence is the great corrupter. Had they stayed out of galactic politics and operated purely as an independent entity that could be used to quell conflicts, perhaps there would be more of a chance. Ultimately there would still be a decline due to their dogmatic practices about attachments and using the dark side. That fear prevented them from evolving and becoming better.
I always heard that yoda was trained by someone of his species
During the Old Republic era it was Grand Master Krotis

I wonder did anyone end up turning to the dark side because the position of grandmaster was unattainable for 800 years? We saw with Anakin that Jedi can still want power whilst being technically allowed in the order
isn't anakin an exception ? He wasn't a young child brainwached ... I mean he was to old when he join the order
Wasn't windu the grandmaster until he gave it up to Yoda during the come wars?
One thing is for sure Disney needs to hand over the franchise..

Heck Yeah!
I’m confused.. if he remembers her from being an infant, how was he found as a “teen” of his species with a human companion..
Hasn't all the High Republic stuff now implemented that there were three Jedi Grand Masters in 232 BBY?

7:17 the "what" Yoda theory?
Love the Star Wars world and everything but I have never read any books or comics related to it. What would be a good place to start? I know that is a big question. I have heard and seen so many different books and series’ to read. Just a little help please.
The Clone Wars
Darth Vader comics and star wars 2015 comics are great
old canon or new canon?
And even that... it is more about what interests you, generally if you want to start with old canon read Timothy Zahn's trilogy which is widely considered to be the best EU stories after that X-wing series is a really good military s-f which could stand on its own even without SW brand. "I jedi" is very good - about training of jedi in Academy focusing on actually interesting character of Corran Horn from the X wing series.
After that, you do you friend.
So Yoda had more masters probably than anybody else while he was training. Is it ironic that Yoda had crashed on a swampy planet and trained with his first master to only have Luke crash on a swap planet to be trained by his Jedi master……… is that the same planet that Yoda had crashed on when he was younger?
The answer better be "Grand Master Flash".
Well, I'd say yoda dropped the "grand master" ball.
Yodle?
Mistress, surely? (and don't call me Shirley)
When the Jedi Order was reduced to so few Luke Skywalker should not have taken the title of Grand Master. For such a reduced order it was a prideful affectation to do so.
Question. Who was the human that trained with Yoda? What happen to him after they where rescued? 🤔
it was a time travelling Din Djarin
I dont think there ever was another Grand Master before Yoda. Everyone is an equal in the Jedi Council. The only reason Yoda was a "Grand Master" was because of his advanced age. Yoda was in charge of training younglings, give advice to other Jedi and likely there to sign off on Jedi Council issues. I would think of Yoda as a retired Jedi, taking on the odd padawan here and there but not going to a battle or a negotiation very often unless it needed his touch.
Mace Windu was essentially the leader of the Jedi, and had final say, but Yoda would be able to veto him if necessary.
yoda only being grandmaster due to his advanced age doesnt make sense when you consider Luke was the next grandmaster and probably died around the same age if not only a little older than grogu is currently....it should be obvious that being granted the title of grand master of the jedi means you have recognized as the most knowledgable in the force and skilled and also truly carries out the ideals of the jedi order above everything else to ensure peace and balance in the jedi

And this is what their downfall was they should’ve had a mixture of both methods...
"Tell us you're going to die a virgin, without telling us...."
How long can humans live in this universe? Because you said valorum. As in chancellor valorum before palps but as a senator? Who i thought was human? He was around for almost 900 years? Or is this another person entirely?
Two different Valorums, yeah X) It explains it in the Darth Bane books
I was wondering the same thing.
The Valorum mentioned in this video who implemented the Ruusan Reformations is Tarsus who is the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic in that time. The one in the Phantom Menace is Finis Valorum who is given a Vote of No Confidence by Padme who was Queen of Naboo and set up by Palpatine.
It was chancellor valorum ancestor. He was the one to create the Russan reformation.
Valorum is a family name, I believe that even today you have dudes that are direct descendants of Washington?
Is Valorum mentioned in the video the same as the chancellor before Palpatine? Or is it a different Valorum?
