I love seeing original animated music videos for songs. We don't get it too often, so it's always a special treat when it happens. Really wish more people would do them, whether they're official or fanmade.
unless we animators specifically get hired by studios to do them for artists, it’s not worth doing an entire AMV. first because it is a LOT of work (this one was one month of preproduction, two months of production with a six-person team), which is practically a full-time job. second because, if you don’t have permission from the studio or artist, your video will likely get copyright-struck and all that work goes down the drain.
Animation is amazing and really takes you back to that Era of panic but with a cool twist on it. I just wish the album version was dubbed over instead of a live performance. Great concept tho, we need more like this.
The animations was really cool to see!! Also the art style reminds me of a show called Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja and the art styles of both of these were really cool!

So I found this through a RUclips ad; I barely know what MTV is, but this animation is incredible and this song is cool asf. I've watched it five times.

Im so used to the oversimplified corporate art style and im sick of it. Been on this site for almost 9 years and never purposely clicked an ad. Props to the team behind this💖💖

No, live performances are not usually this bad. I’ve seen many many bands that sound just fine live. I remember seeing this in 2006 and thinking wtf is up with his voice. He got a lot of controversy over this performance because it was live on MTV back when everyone watched it.
@@McGirthius Has the vocalist developed any throat problems, is this vocal cords sore or damage? I asked this because it's a very common issue especially with aging vocalists of these bands.

Yeah to echo the comments, he was young and still getting used to performing live. They had done many shows by this point, but this performance was a big deal so I know the nerves were up.
Wherever she may be now, I still wonder if she still listens to P!ATD probably one of the things I still remember about her. I know that at the time it went over my head but nowadays that moment is all I think about. If you were here now I'd hold you just as tight. Thanks for the fun memories. 🖤

it was an homage by MTV for Brendon’s breakout performance for the 2006 VMAS! Brendon was 19 and just breaking out into the music scene and mtv wanted to honor that by having us animate that performance specifically.

This was one of his first performances. Definitely he might have been nervous and again he wasn't a pro at that time. Now he's so much more better
