memories of seeing this video while on vacation at disney world with my parents in the early 90s, apparently I danced and sang in my ninja turtle underwear
I've been looking for this song ever since I heard it at Disney in Orlando Florida in the early 1990s. I was 6 and very distinctly remember thinking the "Ooooooooh" was a small fake train nearby or something until the song got going. Finally in 2019, it played at my local supermarket and I whipped out my phone faster than a cowboy pulling his gun. "Ooooooooooooooh la la la la la la" and it was on. FINALLY! I'm 33 years old now, and am so very tired from this decades long quest. Now that my work is complete, I can finally die now. :)
A Clever Fish Cannot believe I’m reading your comment. The Magic Kingdom railroad train whistle literally has the exact same pitch. I live in FL, have been umpteen times since I was in preschool and always think it’s this song starting. 😲😲
Yes! The "oooohhhh" parts of this song always made me think of the whistles on the locomotives on the Walt Disney World Railroad or whistle on the riverboat at the Magic Kingdom!
One of the best and most memorable songs of the era. Gloria Estefan is exceptionally talented, and she elicits fond memories of my childhood. I also admire how the imagery is Art Deco and captures a tropical ambiance.
Oh my god. FINALLY. Ive had the Oooo la la la la la la stuck in my head for over 20 years. Since I was a 6 year old kid and heard it in Toys R Us. It was to the point where I thought I had made it up. Its been driving me crazy.. one of the great unsolved mysteries from my childhood, haha. It pops into my head nearly weekly. Ive googled numerous times, and this time was the charm. Wow.
Dedicated to my son, my Mama (with the exception of the lyrics relating to intimacy, but those are for my one true love, my twin soul Mark (4/26/1973 - 7/1/2003) ❤💙💜
This song meant so much to my girlfriend and me when it -- and our love for each other -- were brand new. Nearly a third of a century has passed, and we've been married more than 30 years. We've been through many wonderful times, and some very dark days. We've experienced all of them together. Sweetie, more than ever, I live for loving you.
I recently had the privilege of seeing “On Your Feet,” the Broadway musical about Gloria’s life. It was an amazing portrayal about her and her music. I remember this being in the show and I enjoyed it, along with a few others from her that I remember would play on K-BIG 104 back in the 90s
Even though Thriller is the best video of all time, this is my favorite video ever. That whole buildup to the chorus while the couple is walking into the Voo Doo Cafe is awesome! My favorite scene.
this is the first time I have seen this video in 19 years. And I am 23. I have remembered this video when i was 4 years old. brings back alot of memories when I was a little one.
I have been looking for this song for years, I couldn't remember the name or anything, I didn't know how to look for it but thanks to RUclips and the person who uploaded the video.
I miss this time in music this song has a make me feel good vibe. Thank you gloria for giving me great music. I hope this kind of music makes a comeback someday. I cant listen to todays music is just not the same for me
For the last two weeks, somehow someway, that opening riff was in my head: “Ooh la la la la la la la”. But i had no idea where it came from or what song it was. A blast from my childhood. I was sure it was a Gloria Estefan song but I couldn’t find it. Suddenly, just now, the words “live for loving you” popped in my head. I hurried to RUclips to see if that was Gloria Estefan. It was! I played the song. The song started. The riff wasn’t there. I waited. I waited. THEN IT CAME! “Oohh la la la la la la.” I was so happy!
Love how this song perfectly captured the South Florida/Miami vibe in the early 90's -- you can almost hear the evening tropical breezes rustling through the palm trees. :D
Sitting on the moon. Lucky moon !! She is a national treasure, just like Donna Summer, Pat Benatar, Rita Coolidge, Carly Simon, and Diana Ross. Gloria not only could sing, she was one of the best "front-people" there ilever was. From beginning to end, the crowd was hers....
I don't care what people say; this is still one of my favourite videos of all time. The album "Into The Light" was defo one of the best albums of 1991 and was criminally under-appreciated. I still can't believe it was shut out at the Grammys, not one nomination. Ridiculous.
Oldie but goodie! It's 2019 and I just started singing the chorus of this song out of nowhere so I looked for the video and now I'm swooning over all the nostalgia feels. I vividly remember as a kid her sitting on the moon in a red dress. 😍
As a Florida native, I'm proud that this woman (with MSM) has put out timeless music I can always come back to....regardless of genre. 'Conga', 'Comin out of the Dark', 'Mi Tierra'. Keep on reppin, Gloria. ☀️🌴😎✊🏾
This is one of the coolest music videos I’ve ever seen from Gloria Estefan. I love the whole Miami theme & I also like how you can see everyone from Miami Sound Machine doing their own creative things. But honestly I’m a little confused why it says Gloria Estefan on the title & not Miami Sound Machine? If she was solo at the time, then why would she have them in this music video? This is a great song! I still remember hearing it for the first time when I was a just a little kid. I also forgot how great the music video was, I haven’t seen or heard this in almost 32 years. 😊
I first heard this song on my Toshiba laptop computer about 2000. I think the song and video played when the computer was first powered on. I was mesmerized by both the song and the video. The Toshiba video was similar to this video in that it was fanciful and colorful. I finally remembered a few months ago that it was Gloria Estefan that sang the song and today I tracked it down with the help of You Tube.
Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s , I’m not sure if any female artist captivated me quite like Gloria Estefan . Although I’ve been a huge fan of Tina Turner and Celine Dion also , there was always something unique and magical in the voice of Gloria . Still today in 2018 and beyond I will continue to enjoy those soothing hits the rest of my years . Thank You
I wanted to add that also unique to her , was the message that she conveyed in her lyrics. I wonder if she still goes on tour . I’d be lining up tickets right now . Maybe some of us should start up the Gloria Estefan Forever fan club .
God bless Gloria Estefan because she had suffered a horrendous accident a year ago prior to this song and she survived and she is still Kickin. God bless her. She is very gorgeous in this video as well.
I was into computer graphics when this video came out in1990 and I always wondered what computer and software they used for it. Very good for the time.
Still LOVE this song in 2019!! I was 12 when this song/vid came out while living n KeyWest,Fl&l remember watching it on VH1(when they played video's ALL DAY)while getting ready 4 school.lol
I was watching a J Lo performance and couldn't take it any more. Now this is good, Gloria Estefan. . . great singer! Miami Sound Machine amazing. No half an hour of shaking her behind to compensate.
HOW DID MY BRAIN REMEMBER THIS JUST NOW? My mom had the Everlasting Gloria! VHS and this was the first music video. It was my fave as a kid and now I’m like in shock that I even randomly recalled!! My heart is full ♥️♥️♥️🥰
Janet Vonnik thank you I keep saying that, I thought that, teenage years in 90's seemed much more colourful & bright it seemed to go from dark & grey to this 90's summer breeze, I keep telling my niece it felt like summer everyday music was bright & colourful, was the dawn of the second summer of love that the 90's would bring in, wish I had a bloody time machine (seriously though lol 😂)
This is a south Florida anthem. Sitting on the moon in a red dress is iconic.
agree. from miami and this brings back memories from 91-92 when i first heard this when bayside first opened
memories of seeing this video while on vacation at disney world with my parents in the early 90s, apparently I danced and sang in my ninja turtle underwear
My fondest memory of this song is coming home from work and my little daughter asking me to play the "Ooolala" song and dancing in the kitchen
This was one of my TOP favorite videos to watch and sing along with in the early 90s.
Anyone here june 2024 ,you've got great taste in music
Hi there! Me! :)
My favorite song of her's.
Right HERE. I sing this song to women and they laugh... Like POINT and laugh.
I still remember this coming out in 1991, I loved it then, and still do. Hard to believe it's been 33 years. A third of a century!
Music today is ashamed of goodness, decency, light, and love. I am happy to hear this
but sad for where music is headed ....💔.....
sad

Funny, that's where I remember this song from too...90s Florida, probably Disney World as well.

Dude I had this song stuck in my head for ten years and couldn’t remember the lyrics. Finally I can exorcise this earworm
@@kevin15776 Same here.
2024 still loving this , one of my old time favorites
Gloria ... always on top of her game; but she was on top of the moon in this video, both figuratively and literally! BRING THIS MUSIC BACK!
Gloria Estefan among the greatest female entertainers of all time. Her music is timeless because it never gets old.
I am and it's 2023 great song

One of my favorite videos from the 90's✨🎶🦜🦋🌄
Dedicated to my son, my Mama (with the exception of the lyrics relating to intimacy, but those are for my one true love, my twin soul Mark (4/26/1973 - 7/1/2003) ❤💙💜
I will always love this song. It pops in my head so randomly.
And coming out of the dark.
This song meant so much to my girlfriend and me when it -- and our love for each other -- were brand new.

This just popped in my head when I woke up. Looking back..this woman was truly amazing. It’s crazy how many hits she had!
It popped in head too I used sing this song when I was a kid
Funny enough, I'm trying to go to sleep and it popped into my head. I haven't thought about it in years!!!

yes yes yes
I've been to Miami and this song reminds me so much of it. It's been almost 5 years since I've visited and I miss it so much.
They would always play this music-video on The Disney Channel, back when I was 9 or 10. Memories!

she rocks that red dress sitting on the moon
Definitely. She looks amazing in that red dress! She is naturally very beautiful😀
Gloria was one of my favorite 80s and 90s artist.

This is one of those Flawless pop songs that, unfortunately, you just don't hear anymore.
Music today is about heavy beats and no melody. We’ve devolved from Classical music to Gloria Estefan to… Drake.
Great song great video
One of her greatest albums of all time.
2023 and still going strong
If my hometown (Miami) had a queen, it would be Gloria Estefan... para citar Celia Cruz "Azucar!"
My favorite Gloria Song ❤
I remember ring obsessed with this video when I was a toddler❤️ it’s the perfect vibe to describe MiAmi

Love Gloria Estefan
The world almost lost Gloria Estefan in a traffic accident. So glad she survived. What a great singer.
I remember this.her face is now reconstructed.i was devasted when i heard on the news!!!
My young heart was so broken and sad when I first heard of this. I'm so thankful for her recovery
I remember when that happened. I forgot her face was reconstructed, but I do remember she broke her back from it
@@UPBEATFOREVERyou are wrong. Gloria has never had any work done on her face.
This is the song I remember from her the most...miss those days....
Wowsers, I never realized how beautiful this woman is.... and yes this song is one of the best 90s throwback upbeat tracks:)
This is I think one of my FAVs from Gloria's "Into The Light" CD.
How is the world not in love and happiness after this song came out? It boggles my mind!!
Gloria Estefan will never be forgotten
Considering she's alive & well and still performing, I'd say there's little chance of her being forgotten.

One of the truly great songs of all time!
Meh...
I wanted to marry Gloria...then I discovered Sade...Ms. Estefan is still a hugely classy and gorgeous woman.
yes Gloria Estefan she is a great artist
I agree ☝️
