My dad was the audio engineer for this album I'm shure I remember sitting in the studio while he mixed these tracks I was prob 4 to 5 years old . He just lost his battle to cancer . Doug Grover was a good father and musician including one of the best at what he did when It came to audio engineering
Eg CooN Condolences - I know the sorrow and grief of losing loved ones to that dreaded disease.
Es fue un privilegio
the final audio result of this song is more that outstanding! God bless him
PS: Actually when i first listened this song in a simple stereo player it was the first time i realized how a song should be listened
i’m so sorry for your loss❤️
Sorry for your loss, amazing song and music. ⚘
Sal Vulcano was terrified of this song in 1987
pffff lol i just watched that special.
I came here for this comment
Wonder how many views he’s getting this song
Came here for this reason 😂
I'm jealous of Sal's Mom and her genius domestic T skills.
"Either that or Gloria Estefan was right, eventually the rhythm is going to get you."

+Deshi Thank you...I'm glad someone else knew the only right thing to comment on this video
haha yeeesss friends 😂😂😂
+Deshi lol, just realized i was about to post almost the same, at least Chandlers reference wich brought me here to that beautiful song and stunning woman :)
Which episode?
I can't believe, this song had such a hard time getting into the charts. This is one of my favorite songs from her !
One of my all time favorite songs. But for it not to chart doesn't say that this song is bad but in 1987 there was just so many good artists and music out there to compete with.
@@fortunateson2 late 80s-early 90s was a big time to be a music artist. so many styles, genre so much to choose from. and it sounds real. unlike now where autotune and lipsyc are used a lot. mad respect to the artitst who can style play like this 40 years later.
When u live in miami and u are not a sellout it's hard for u to make it and especially if ur talented it will take a hot min for you to make it only with the right people it's sad but true
@@fortunateson2 It was a hit in general, so what you talking about??
Same! Never understood that.
It's my mum's 76th birthday today. She sadly passed away 010120 . She absolutely loved Gloria! This is for her ! Happy birthday Mum
Its always good to remember things about your mom! To honor her memory.I always think of the smells of the good food my mom was cooking. How she brought everyone in our family together. How she always did good for other ppl she knew.Yes,Mothers are special ppl!🙏❤😃
🌺
Moms are the best. You have a very heavy heart but, shes in a beautiful place among all the other angels smiling down on you! 😃🙏❤
My mum died last year and she loved Miami Sound Machine. Always cheered her up. Dr. Beat was her favourite.
Sorry for your loss , you're mum was right. Gloria is a good girl...Lady !
She was on top of the world in the 80's. She had no Latina competition, the whole world was looking at Miami as the #1 vacation spot, all the fashion was inspired by Miami Vice, what a great time to be alive.
True facts......I was made in the 305.....no better place🏝🏖
She has a hotel/restaurant in my hometown of Vero Beach, I worked there when I was a teenager, never got to meet her but still at 40 now still super cool
She's actually not Latina; she's Syrian and Canadian :)
@@cristinhrt no she’s definitely cuban
@@an0n110 nope- look it up.. pretty simple
Her smooth, iconic voice will forever be one of a handful that I will always love. Gloria Estefan is the best!
Hello Robin how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you all
I totally agree with you her voice is absolutely magical that been said nothing like a 80's hit nothing.
1987
I can understand and can empathize with Sal Vulcano and the crippling fear he endured as a child because of this song.
The world is a better place because we still have Gloria in this world!!! She is an amazing, strong, and very smart business woman!!! Thanks for keeping me company tonight!! ❤🫶🏼✌🏼👋🏽🙋🏽♀️👏🏽
Fun fact: If there was more music like this now, the world would be a happier place today.
AMEN

There slowly is..... the weekend has that 80s throwback sound to his stuff. If others start doing it too, ya never know. It may start a trend

True That!
Gloria Estefan is the Queen of Latin music 🎶!
No es Selena Quintanilla
Celia cruz! 😅
& Sheila E
@@zelayaf32😂😂
I beg to differ, although Gloria is an amazing, talented artist, she can not be the Queen of Latin Music, because her music centered in English pop music with Latino influenced sounds. She made it by singing mainly in English, and throwing some Spanish songs or maybe an album here and there. I would suggest someone like Celia Cruz or Selena Quintanilla who made it to the U.S. Market with their Spanish language music. Celia’s music was very defined in genre,Cuban style salsa and mambos. Although Selena’s first language was English and started singing covers in English, she became famous singing in Spanish, not only cumbias and rancheras, she sang all kinds of music genres, I will dare to say to this day Selena is the most influential Latina artist even in death, her legacy is still relevant compared to others dead or alive… keep in mind that Selena died when Social Media and Streaming Music was not even a thing, she was and is still is known mononymously as Selena!
48 year old man with muscular dystrophy and this song still makes me move..love you Gloria
same...!
I guess the rhythm finally got you

God, these were the days when music was at its peak. Rhythm driven, upbeat, and made everyone happy. Those were the days...
Yeah! Sounds like it was fueled by cocaine. Great times
@@mrmijunte10 gotta love the 80's lol
Amen sir!!! 52 now…. We had it so good back then!!!
YEP YOUR SOOOOOOO RIGHT ON TIME !!!!!!!
What you don't like mumble rap? Me neither. There are still some good artists out there but most current top 100 stuff is junk.
I wish more people had this type of energy now days
I´m just here!!!! 😄
It's almost impossible to achieve this epic generation of artists
Unfortunately cocaine went out of style.

I was 7 years old when this song came out. I remember vividly my parents driving down the highway, with me in the back seat listening to this song while on a road trip, and the sun had just gone down. Fond memories indeed!
My dad listened to this album on every road trip from Phoenix to El Paso and back. Or from Phoenix to Los Angeles. We drove back and forth A LOT. Thats cool you have a similar memory
I was 13 all of us dancing to this at the school disco
This one came out in '87, and I was born in Hialeah (Miami, basically) in '91. These were the songs I listened to as a kid. I remember this video. It's taking me right back.
One of my earliest vivid memories is of sitting on the porch on a bright, sunny, Miami morning with my toy tape player with the microphone attached, with my Gloria Estefan tape in, singing Conga in my tighty whities.
7 years old here aswell 👵🏿
Saw my first Gloria's videos on MTV
80s babies unite😂
42 or 43?
Happy 66th. birthday Gloria Estefan ❤❤❤❤🎉
This song is so INCREDIBLY INTOXICATING!!! Still has the same effect on me as it did when I first heard it on the radio in the '80s. Once this song gets in your blood, gotta groove to it.
I agree! This song can't be compete with the rest of her other songs. This is the best! Good luck. 😊👌
Yup💃🕺
One of her greatest ever. Tremendous. It's in her blood to sing & perform.
1987
Almost 30 yrs later, the rhythm is still getting me
When I was in Miami last year, I heard some street perfomer singing this song at the Bayside Market Place. Those were some good times.
+VanHustler feel the same here!!!!!!!
+Helen Benie Same here! Gloria is an otherworldly talent.
i so agree with you, still listen to her awsome music, the 2 kids and i frequently dance on her music, it brings memories to our visit in maimi. had the most wonderfull vacation ever!!!!!!!! and all the best to you from europe my friend.
+VanHustler jejejejeje it still gets me!!!
I was 6 years old when this came out. I remember it playing in the car on the way to Wales for holidays with my mum and dad. Me and mum singing along g while dad was tapping the steering wheel and nodding his head to it. Happy memories. Miss you Dad xx
What a great memory.
In one paragraph you summarized everything that was beautiful in that moment of your life.

The Miami sound machine made it all the way to sheep country. What an inspiring story!
2024 and The Rhythm has Still Got Me.
i wasnt even born in the 80s but this music here is just pure man ....the instruments, the vocals , love it
It's true still.
agreed.
it's great but it's anything but pure. The 80's were all about making an artificial and futuristic

I AGREE
Man, she's stunning!
Had the BIGGEST crush on her when I was younger. Latinas have always been my Achilles heel. Its like playing with fire but fireplay is soooo much fun!
She's one of the most beautiful woman and sweetest singer of all time.
I periodically come back to this video to relive the beauty of that period of time and the music and the memories
Remember when this came out…. Such good music. Loved growing up in the 80’s damn we were lucky.💋🥰Go my Gen -X brothers and sisters!!!!!

We were So lucky by Far best music generation the 80s . I was a teen born in 70s loved 80s ❤ miss those days 😢
я из России, и вспонимаю эту эстраду это было супер. Хотя мне 50 лет уже
This was one of the songs that some of the contractors working on my parents' house would play on their portable stereo ("boombox"). I must have been 8 or 9 years old at the time.
Still one of the most intense songs you will hear.
You’re either afraid of it, or you embrace the passion. No in between.
I wasn't aware they perform ritual. Now I believe there is no music without purpose..
@@susannabonke8552 what kind of ritual?

Her voice is sooooooo beautiful and soft, she's underrated ♡
Yes, the vulnerability in her voice is what makes this song hard to define or duplicate. She could've tried to wail and yell (à la Tina Turner or Katy Perry) in order to compete with the careening, turbocharged instrumentation, but decided to be the calm in the center of the storm.
Yea underated lmao she was huge in the 80/90s and made millions
100 million sold records and a fortune of $500 million. Yeah, really underrated, poor thing.
maybe underated in youtube views terms but trust me me she was massive in 80s and 90s

Congrats on Gloria Estefan being inducted in the 2014 Latin Songwriters Hall Of Fame later this year. So talented and forever beautiful! :)

Gloria is a Cuban queen.
Don't you wish that the music they made today made us feel like music for the past like this.
Unfortunately I have to say: that's nota going to happen. Sorry!
If you cant find music that makes you feel that way then you make it even tho it might be hard

I remember in the late 80's I lived in Cairo, Egypt where I was born. My dad had immigrated to the states earlier and would send me cassette tapes of Gloria Estefan and Whitney Houston. I fell in love with American 80's pop songs prior to immigrating. The best time of my life was growing up in California throughout the 90's.
❤it was a really great time to be in Cali ^^ I am glad you were there too, because some times and places simply can't be explained. I didn't realize how lucky we were back then - I was just bored, writing down lyrics i liked, and finding ways to run around hyper 😂

Actually there's Santana, and before him Dezi Arnez got his start as a bandleader & crooner, and Zoot Suiters were the cool cats during WWII. And many others. Charo, WAR, Los Lobos. But I agree with you that Gloria & MSM introduced the Latin salsa rhythm & sound to the mainstream. Luv her ❤

Gloria Estefan is truly underrated. The queen of Latin pop before Selena Quintanilla.
Rudy Mendoza which Selena?
@@mishyeechii766 I really believe he meant Selena Perez, but for me any Spanish-Latina name deserves full support because no other race or ethnicity hardly will, which is why, although many have tried, it is VERY difficult for Spanish names having Huge hits or album sales. So, Selena Gomez for me is queen and her music is actually outstanding. It all starts in the USA, because from here, the overwhelming majority of world trends starts.
@@markuse3472 are you joking? Spanish names can't get album sales? Spanish is the the 3rd most spoken language in the world and Spanish music is HUGE. Look at how many of the most viewed videos on RUclips are Spanish songs. The most streamed song ever in the world is despacito. Maybe in the past what you said is true, but right now latin music is gigantic. Tekashi 69, an America rapper who can barely speak Spanish, has a Spanish song that is his most viewed video on RUclips with over a billion views.

Gloria was the one who brought Latin(o,a,x) music to the front with a bang - and with an amazing style :)
Gloria Estefan paved the way for the Latin explosion of the music scene in the late 90's as this is when musicians such as Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin became popular with English speaking audiences.
Better believe it!! In her time she was big, big big for a Hispanic person. Even did half time in Super Bowl twice before the two new ones tried to erase her. SMH.
