I know you are human with the desire for love, romantic companionship, and to fill the painful void. But some, admittedly very few, live their remaining years after losing their true love with an alternate point of view and lifestyle. I had a very dear friend, an elderly woman, who had what she swears was a fairy-tale marriage. Her daughter testifies that it was true and that her father was mutually and extremely fulfilled with her mother. The elder friend told me that when her husband passed away while she was still fairly young, in her late 30's, she had been so fulfilled in the marriage that even through the hurt and loneliness of his loss she never once had a desire for another romance. The one she had with her husband kept her happy until she passed in her mid 70's. She told me many times that the memories of her marriage were so sweet that she couldn't even imagine being with another man. I believed her because she was one of the most cheerful and content people I have ever known. She was genuinely happy and complete even as a widow. Most will never have that kind of marriage. I certainly don't. But it's great to believe that for a select few it's a reality. Here's to you sir, and all the great years you had with your wife. Godspeed and God's peace to you in whichever path you need to take to be whole and happy.

I really like this Gloria song when it came out in ‘89 or ‘90. This great song. takes me way way back to an ex girlfriend and wife of the 90’s. >Now in 2023 I really appreciate her songs more.
I saw her perform this classic in a 1988 concert in the Caribbean. To this day I STILL proudly tell ppl it was the GREATEST Concert I've ever been to among many other 80's artistes. The ONLY other female I put right alongside of her is the equally great & talented Sade Adu. Long live the 80's!!
Funny how a song can flood your brain with so many memories...When time just seemed to stand still.. sitting on the beach hoping nothing ever changes ..best times of your life and didn't know it....Sure glad I have that person today 30 years later ....Time be still
I myself was a teenager in the 80s, met my husband when I was 14 years old,he was 16 years old, everyone said it was a teenage phase,it wouldn’t work out, we had our first child when I was 18,he was 20, we married when I was 19,he was 21, 40 years later of marriage, five adult children, seven grandchildren, two on the way, During our very early years things were hard for us,but we couldn’t stay away from each other,I am so glad we stuck at it,
I absolutely love this song! Infact I love Gloria Estefan. This song gives me goosebumps and takes me light years back to my growing up days, filling me with nostalgia
I had broken up with my wife of 34 years while we were dating . My sister made me listen to this song. We got back together soon after. We have been there for each other ever since. ❤
I was maybe 6 or 7 when I heard this song. It was instantly one of my favorites. It just seemed so sad. I didnt understand why he would want to stay away from her if she loved him so much. Now that I am grown, I understand how complicated love is. This song has only grown deeper for me.
This song makes so much sense to me. When you love someone with all your heart and soul and they don’t love you back they same way is heart breaking 💔 but life goes on
I totally understand what you mean, it makes you really sad & you despair, can’t breath & don’t understand why they don’t feel the same way , even tough they realise how you feel about them 😢
Everytime when she sings: „I know it‘s just no use“ my heart breaks. It reninds me of lovesickness when I was a teenager. But I still love this song all the more for it.
I agree it should have charted better, the singles that followed this did better in the billboards. "Anything for you" and "1-2-3." The previous singles, including this one and "Betcha Say That." Didnt do as well.
I was into Hardcore music Punk Thrash...But Gloria pulled me in with her angelic voice and lyrics. I Fell in love with her music, she mesmerized me completely..She is Amazing 💕
She doesn't want to let him go even though the situation is killing her and she does not want to throw what they have all away the Latin music in the background is very soft and mellow images also saying that she does not want to be just as friend
I can say without doubt it's the first song that when I listen too the meaning of the words it brings me too tears. I'm no softy but we or most of us have felt the hurt that unrequited love brings and it does hurt.
In 1989 I listen to the song I was a teenager back then and my girlfriend went back to England she was an exchange student she said that she was never coming back to the States and when this song was playing on the radio I listen to it over and over my first girlfriend was from England I come to find out later she was crying because she was truly in love with me and I was with her in love with her 2 years later we got married and we're still married to this day with 5 beautiful kids the grown up now thank you for this beautiful song video on RUclips
Gloria's amazing voice and the lyrics in this song remind me of a time I just had to walk away. Often we find ourselves drifting further apart trying to reconcile a love that already died to where letting go becomes the only viable option... I believe this song can easily resonate with so many people that have gone through all of this before.
Thanks for posting that . I’m happy to see all the happy ending stories , but it’s good to know someone else understands this feeling . Going through this now .
12th May 2024, 4:57am. I've just woken up from a sweet dream that I can barely remember. It just felt sweet. But I remember the beats from the beginning of this song, and the words 'I don't wanna be your second choice', along with the nostalgia from my youth. I'm 47 now, and haven't heard this song in years. It took me a while running those words around in my head and slowly, more and more words came, till I had enough to do a Google search. Now here I am wide awake, going back to a time when I still had all my teeth, a time when this planet still had a soul and the magic of love was real. I'm thankful I got to experience the feeling of the 80s and 90s. This song has brought me to that happier time.
The mighty 80's of Gloria's love ballads . She sung so many hits that reached our soul and our youth at that time and still does after 20 years . This was one of Her best .
Rickie Louca I remember a tour HBO did for her that was broadcast toward Cuba or rather the speakers . It was Live and a nice concert . Her music held a moment in time with the girl I was dating at the time . Yeah kinda corny thinking back to it now .
Beautiful memory...Funny you should say that because when i was younger everybody said i looked like her at the time...lol... but i admired her work & her lifestory.... :)
This song is emotionally devastating upon multiple levels. Haunting and unforgettable. Instantly relatable for millions of people everywhere who feel exactly the same way. How love hurts when only ones in love and how i hold your hand someone else holds your heart. Phone rings, you answer, its not her, its not him.

I really like this Gloria song when it came out in ‘89 or ‘90. This great song. takes me way way back to an ex girlfriend and wife of the 90’s. >Now in 2023 I really appreciate her songs more.
No one can sing like that anymore 😢
Of course they can but it’s not what the generation of today want to hear in the main. So record companies don’t promote such artists as they used to.
There are a LOT of good singers out there, especially on the street...tik tok etc
Facts
I saw her perform this classic in a 1988 concert in the Caribbean. To this day I STILL proudly tell ppl it was the GREATEST Concert I've ever been to among many other 80's artistes. The ONLY other female I put right alongside of her is the equally great & talented Sade Adu. Long live the 80's!!
Love Sade!!
I wonder what that must have been like!
Gloria always had an amazing voice and great rhythm in her music! 🎤🎶❤️
Omg these songs are again trending on tiktok. My favourite song.
One of her best songs I think.
Emma Green sure is Emma
Emma Green I agree
Mos def in the top 5!! She has quite a Catalog!!!
Indeed!
Emma Green AH! & there were SO MANY!!! It's truly hard to decide on HER BEST!!! NEVER BE ANOTHER!!!!!
One of the most beautifully constructed pop ballads ever. Her voice and that classic US production. Bravo. She is stunning also.

/me too
Hi, are you back?
So underrated Beautiful!!!!!!!😅
Funny how a song can flood your brain with so many memories...When time just seemed to stand still.. sitting on the beach hoping nothing ever changes ..best times of your life and didn't know it....Sure glad I have that person today 30 years later ....Time be still
Want a very pretty girl love Michael from festus Missouri
I myself was a teenager in the 80s, met my husband when I was 14 years old,he was 16 years old, everyone said it was a teenage phase,it wouldn’t work out, we had our first child when I was 18,he was 20, we married when I was 19,he was 21, 40 years later of marriage, five adult children, seven grandchildren, two on the way,
During our very early years things were hard for us,but we couldn’t stay away from each other,I am so glad we stuck at it,
good on you both ,, a beautiful love story ♥

Some things are just meant to be
Good lord this woman was sooooo 🔥.
A Beautiful Song
I absolutely love this song! Infact I love Gloria Estefan. This song gives me goosebumps and takes me light years back to my growing up days, filling me with nostalgia
I had broken up with my wife of 34 years while we were dating . My sister made me listen to this song. We got back together soon after. We have been there for each other ever since. ❤
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. So beautiful yet so heartbreaking. I love it today as much as I did when I was a kid.
Bless x
I love it
Perfect pop, you just don't hear song structures like this in pop today.

When you love someone with all your heart and soul and they don’t love you back they same way is heart breaking 💔 but life goes on
Indeed
Elena Chavez 100% real sucks ,all the years effort to make it happen then all gone in a minute
I totally understand what you mean, it makes you really sad & you despair, can’t breath & don’t understand why they don’t feel the same way , even tough they realise how you feel about them 😢
Tell me about it....
This is making sense to me at the moment. Every word :(
Gloria Estefan voice is just as beautiful as she is. Legendary status 💯❣️
Everytime when she sings: „I know it‘s just no use“ my heart breaks. It reninds me of lovesickness when I was a teenager. But I still love this song all the more for it.
Nothing wrong with that. ❤️
💓💓💓
Just Stunning what a wonderful song
One of my favorite songs by Gloria Estefan; so beautiful.
My favourite song also. X
Still love her after all these years. Incredible music!! Such emotion.
GE and the Miami Sound Machine what a band they definitely helped make the 80s the best era for music big hair and shoulder pads.
1989 I had the album at only 9 years old, I knew good music and still do
Gloria Estefan what a women 🥰🥰🥰🥰
*woman, yes :)
Love this song. Love her. A classic that still brings me to tears this day.

Wow... I used to like this song but now I'm older I love it. it is magic for sure !
Just perfect words and the best voice for this song.
Well put Michael. Couldn't put it any better.
I agree it should have charted better, the singles that followed this did better in the billboards. "Anything for you" and "1-2-3." The previous singles, including this one and "Betcha Say That." Didnt do as well.
She was hurting and sick with love . So emotional so expressive. So meaningful . Beautiful GLORIA
I was into Hardcore music Punk Thrash...But Gloria pulled me in with her angelic voice and lyrics. I Fell in love with her music, she mesmerized me completely..She is Amazing 💕
Gloria's songs are timeless. Beautiful lyrics.❤
Hello how are you doing
She doesn't want to let him go even though the situation is killing her and she does not want to throw what they have all away the Latin music in the background is very soft and mellow images also saying that she does not want to be just as friend
I can say without doubt it's the first song that when I listen too the meaning of the words it brings me too tears.
I'm no softy but we or most of us have felt the hurt that
unrequited love brings
and it does hurt.
So true ...
I love my Gloria. But this song... words can't even explain how much I love dis song. It will never get old for me
Know it's killin me that true
My mom loves this song. She played it over and over and I got hooked to it. Gloria has a beautiful voice.. Wish her the best!
So true I remember it as a kid and knew then it a classic lol
How , beautiful.
@@franciscovalladolid3659 lovely!
That's awesome! Congratulations! 😄
Again ,a beautiful relationship , with the two of you , a bond, a love that was written in the stars ,an enevatabilaty
Of the clan macleod , " Can you walk ?? ' I'll bloody well walk out of here , respect macleod
Gloria's amazing voice and the lyrics in this song remind me of a time I just had to walk away. Often we find ourselves drifting further apart trying to reconcile a love that already died to where letting go becomes the only viable option... I believe this song can easily resonate with so many people that have gone through all of this before.
I'm living it, right now.
Thanks for posting that . I’m happy to see all the happy ending stories , but it’s good to know someone else understands this feeling . Going through this now .
This is one the best songs from the 80s. Beautiful.
She's in my Top 5 Pop Female Vocalists. Loved her voice in the 80's, and still play her songs all the time. Her voice was made for sad old love songs.
Mucho amor' senora Estefan
DAMN...MUSIC ISN'T MADE LIKE THIS ANYMORE!!
This song encapsulates my time growing up in the 80s it touches my soul with a ghostly haunt whenever I hear it... What an era!!!... 80s BEST!!!
@@astrotelomeres1084 And you had Brokeback Mountain on your mind
Natural talent natural beauty… we just don’t have this quality today. The 80’s really was a fantastic decade for music. Golden memories.
The mighty 80's of Gloria's love ballads . She sung so many hits that reached our soul and our youth at that time and still does after 20 years . This was one of Her best .
Dan Reese erm.... it's 80s.
BigDogsDangler your right , my bad . Ill correct it thanks
+Dan Reese So very true hun....Still touches the depths of my heart as it did all those yrs ago.... :) x
