Na, das war doch mal geschmeidig. Ein Glück, dass Dich das FollowMe zur Startbahn gebracht hat bei den komplizierten Taxianweisungen ;-) FollowMe zur Parkposition finde ich ganz praktisch, aber in die andere Richtung ist schon verschärfter Service! Mann, ich weiß auch nicht, ob es gut oder schlecht ist, solche Videos zu schauen, wenn der eigene Flieger nicht flugbereit ist. Es ist nett zu schauen und überbrückt die Zeit, aber wenn ich nicht bald wieder ein Yoke in der Hand habe, fange ich nach 41 Jahren noch das Rauchen an!
Absolut, ohne das follow me car hätten wir den Rollhalt niemals gefunden! Die Stelle wo wir uns gefragt haben, ob er uns für unzurechnungsfähig hält, hab ich im Video heraus geschnitten :D Wenigstens wissen wir jetzt warum sie € 200,- verlangen. Eins steht jedenfalls fest: Rauchen ist keine Alternative zum Fliegen ;)
In watched all the videos of the series Greece 2020. Really great! I am doing the same trip starting this Saturday 2/7. Any major tips of pitfalls to avoid?
Thanks amigo! Always check notams and opening hours of the airports in Greece. If you fly all the way to the south-east you could land at Kastelorizo LGKJ it‘s a small island next to Turkey but a bit far from the central islands. Have a safe trip and enjoy!
6:23 @Flugabenteuer keep in mind, ATC prefer to get actual UTC time estimates, not EET times, because thats what they write down in their strips, so in EET reports they have to add the times to note down each UTC estimate over position. Off course its a bit of overkill for them to ask estimate for each point. They do all this because En Route radar coverage for low level VFR is poor and they want to know the time estimates and flight altitudes in case something goes wrong and they loose communication.
Thanks a lot for this explanation, in the future I will try to always report the estimates in UTC! It's very good to be fully aware of the reason behind it, now it makes perfect sense. In general I had the impression that ATC is really precautious not to get an airplane missing. We felt very safe because of that most of the time.
Thanks. Yes this DA40 has an thirsty 180hp Lycoming IO-360 which runs on AVGAS. The Rotax of a DA20 would of course be more economical. It would be probably not impossible but still a big challenge to fit 4 people in a DA20.
What a great videos and a superb quality! I love watching all the episodes. Which cameras do you use and do you have special mounts for the tail camera?
The iPad (just like the iPhone) has a built in feature which can record the screen during flight. Go to settings, control centre, and activate "screen recording". You can now start the recording by open the pull down menü "control center" and click on the round record symbol. When you finish the recording a video file will be saved in the photos folder. Just make sure to have enough space because the video files are approx. 5+ GB for 1 hour.

Nice relaxed ATC, great! Only AVgas in a DA40? Expensive Stop with 9,2 G/h compared to a DA20
