i personally dont think its slow at all its in the players hands to determine how fast or slow the parkour is, especially with all the control you had in this system.
I seriously believe every time an assassin order get installed in a city, them mfs just start to secretly build structures so parkour becomes easier for other assassins
It's just more realistic. Altair actually takes some time when climbing on buildings whereas Ezio and the others look like monkeys, but for the rest (running, jumping etc.) AC 1 parkour is hella fast, and I always had a feeling like Altair might be a little faster at running than Ezio, Ezio might have been slowed down a little because he is too fast at climbing.
It looks slow because you are given full control over Altair's movement, unlike other entries in the series where controls are simplified. The full control you have can overwhelm players if they have no idea what they're doing, thereby making it look 'slow'. At most, it is realistic and grounded which a lot of people take for granted these days.
Timing wall run up’s into ejects that gain elevation increases your overall speed at an astounding rate. especially if you have parkour paths memorized thats not only is fast but stylish!
When this game released in 2007, it was totally revolutionary. It was up there definitely with Gears of War 1. Hype was well deserved for this game in my opinion. Altair is still my favorite Assassin in Assassin's Creed. The parkour in this game is still very good.
The puppet system. An assassin without this system is like Skyrim without an open world. My opinion. Oh yes, the first part is the best game of the series.
Ac1 parkour isn't slow climbing up a building is slow but if you ask anyone who does parkour climbing a building isn't parkour and if you anyone who free climbs you want to be slow when just climbing the side of a building. AC1/2 has the most realistic parkour and climbing if any AC game.
Okay, where's that info coming from? I think it would be pretty cool to have a speedometer like in racing games to see how fast Altair is running. I’m really curious about it! :)
@@mk2305gamingits mention in the lore he has speed and agility and remembers hes the only assassin creed who can keep up the parkour the most more then the others
You seem to be going in a straight line. The parkour in these games tends to get excruciatingly slow when you have to diversify between vertical and horizontal parkour.
Almost all of my gameplay videos are recorded in native 4K resolution. I could play in 720p but trust me on a 27" 4K monitor it looks really ugly. Even 1080p is borderline. The last time I played a game in 720p resolution was in the 2000s, I think. 😄
@@rohanvirus Ah ok, now I understand what you mean. But the game still looks significantly better in 4k than in 720p. AC 1 is already 16 years old but in my opinion it looks better than e.g. Assassin's Creed 2. At the time (2007) it was a real graphics blockbuster. For comparison, you can watch a gameplay video from Assassin's Creed 1 that was recorded in 720p. You'll see significantly more jagged edges and the graphics won't be as sharp as with 4k. 🙂
You shouldn't make the mistake of comparing Assassin's Creed 1 with current titles. Of course, the game just shows its age, both graphically and gameplay-wise, but that doesn't bother me. I play the old Assassin's Creed games more for nostalgia. They remind me of better times. For me the real Assassin's Creed games are the ones where Desmond Miles played the main role anyway!

What about the climbing?
The fact that you're slowing down at times on purpose just makes this run look SUPER REALISTIC

NPCs commenting while we do crazy parkour is cute
It’s a pity they decided to drop the NPC lines after AC Revelations. I honestly miss them a lot!
