  • Welcome back to another exciting video! Today, we're diving into the world of Monstera Thai Constellation tissue culture with none other than Lab Director Francisco Palacios. But before we begin, don't forget to secure your spot at the upcoming Tissue Culture Master Class next week! Click on this link to save your seat www.plantcelltechnology.com/m... 🎟️
    In this episode, lab director Francisco will teach you how to clone and multiply your monstera Thai constellation plant - moving it to New Media. This plant has truly flourished and outgrown its 32-ounce deli container, making it a perfect candidate for the upgrade.
    Patience is key when working with Monstera Thai Constellation Plants like this beauty. They grow slowly but surely. Our journey with this one began around seven months ago with a small plant, and though it's grown significantly, the multiplication rate remains modest - only four plants in six months! 🌱
    To tackle this challenge and promote faster multiplication, we're tweaking the media composition. In the past, we've used 1 ml per liter of BA and 0.1 milliliters of IBA, giving us impressive results with large, rooted plants. However, this time, we're experimenting with a different approach.
    Get your plant hormones/Plant Growth Regulators here: www.plantcelltechnology.com/p...
    For the larger two plants, we're sticking to the tried-and-true media: MS medium with 30 grams of sugar, 1 ml per liter of BA, 0.1 milliliters per liter of IBA, and 1 milliliter of PPM™, not to mention 8 grams of agar for solidification. 🧪 Save yourself the contamination hassle and get PPM™ here: www.plantcelltechnology.com/p...
    Now, for the smaller two plants, we're increasing the concentration of BA to 3 milliliters per liter without IBA. We're expecting a faster multiplication rate, but smaller plant sizes. It's all about finding the right balance for your goals. Whether you prefer more plants or larger, well-rooted ones, the media composition makes a significant difference.
    Be sure to follow plantcelltech or tiktok.com/@forplantcelltech for updates on our progress, and don't miss out on the Online Tissue Culture Master Class! Francisco will be sharing even more valuable insights next week. 📣

    I see you all do classes from time to time. I am located in WV, but I am willing to drive to DC. I have been growing mushrooms for about 27 years, so my sterile tech is on point. I have always wanted to jump into plant tissue culturing, but haven't got around to it yet. I suppose I need to grab a book and jump in. I wish you all offered a UDEMY class in addition to the in person class! Cannot wait to meet you all!

    Thank you for sharing this information. I would like to ask if you use anything to reduce oxidation. I have had serious problems and have tried ascorbic acid, citric acid, PvP, cysteine and it does not work. I appreciate your help

    What would you recommend to pot them in when acclimatising them after they have rooted?

    • @PlantCellTechnology
      @PlantCellTechnology  11 месяцев назад +1

      acclimation is done with a peat and perlite mixture. However, the ratio of the mixture differs based on the plant.

    Regarding the sugar amount...Is it 30g/1L.....or is it 30g/2L?
    sometimes you make one mixture and then dilute it down to 2L for convenience...Thanks!
