I wish you were still with Live. They’re coming to my town and I’m hardcore debating on going. You’re an integral part of the band. You can never be replaced.
Chad takes drumming to another level. Most drummers are percussionists and while Chad does this well, he also uses the drums as a melodic instrument giving the song more emotion and feel. He is the most underrated drummer on the planet and if you really listen, I mean, REALLY listen to his drumming and the melodic emotion it conveys you will agree. There is nobody like him.
Outstanding!!! I am so glad that you have done these vids and that I have found them. Listening to the songs I always loved the drumming and found it so different and interesting. A real highlight of LIVE songs. Now we get to see you the whole song instead of glimpses. ❤️❤️❤️
CAG, you're my favorite drummer, ever. your style is so unique.. you add to the song and not just give it a backbeat. but, with that said.. there's something about that snare.. it sounds a little "poppy" or "metal can-ish" for what i'm used to hearing from you. it doesn't have that "heavy" sound that i'm used to hearing on the tracks. but, anyway,.. hope you take this as constructive criticism (not that you'd agree) and not just someone complaining.. thanks for these videos.. i'm loving 'em. keep 'em coming. btw, my fav sound from your drums was the kit you used in the MTV unplugged session.
Hey Chad I've just subscribed to your channel, seriously I wish I'd found it earlier. Being a drummer myself at 65, unfortunately not at your level, I've found your style and the small accents you put into everything you do is just amazing. Probably my favorite would be "Turn My Head" with the Snare/Tom flam you do perked up my ears the first time I heard it, my request to you would be to see this played in your studio as you've done with so many others. Many thanks, Rod Ward, Christchurch, New Zealand
You always give what the song asks for....I've always like your style! Man please "Run to the Water", I'm the second request already lol. Thank you for the videos!
Beautiful performance!!! Freaks is one of my favorite songs on +Live+. Hope to see you playing again on +Live+. Chad you and your drums are the lifeblood of the band.
I have thought about doing some U2 as Larry is one of my biggest influences. I would go back to something like Pride or Wire from Unforgettable Fire OR Bullet the Blue Sky (def one of my faves).
@@chadgraceyLIVE Do it! And do yourself a favor and go see them in Vegas. Surely you know a guy who knows a guy who can get you in! lol. Just got back and it was EPIC!
Hi Chad, since the 90s ive been wondering how you created your tune, i mean, that dark somber way of sounding. Specially in Secret Samadhi. May be you wanna talk about it. Greetings from Mexico!
@@chadgraceyLIVE Ok, i have the feeling that you care about the lyrics and try to adapt to them and potentiate them at the same time. But also, how you came up with that intro? its brutal. I dont know, maybe its a mix of different factors, like technique, recording style and heart...
@@letrasdejalisco I am not a lyric guy....I am a melody guy. Thats what I follow and listen to the most when writing and performing. The intro....we used to watch a local jazz band and the drummer was WAY into flams....and that just came out of nowhere when we were writing this song!
No. I didn't get the Brady snare until touring for TDTH in 2000. I did use the 13" hi hats though. I cant actually remember what snare I used on the original.
@@chadgraceyLIVE Chad you’re an amazing drummer bud! Funny I found out last week my singer is dating Chad Taylor’s cousin Justine. She hide it from the singer for almost a year. When he found out he went ape shit and started singing a Tonic song 🤦♂️😆. I played it cool but I was a huge fan since mental jewelry and I didn’t say anything. It killed me when y’all split. Tell ya what man, if you’re still in the area I’d love to meet you.

love your groove bro!! lol woops
Thank you sir!

No bragging, Live is Chad.
I appreciate that!
I’m absolutely mesmerized by your playing!! Always been a fan and I just found this channel today and I’m watching them all!!
Cool!! Welcome aboard!
Your drum parts made these songs.. and Live is one of my favorite bands of all time due to that.
I really appreciate this! I’ll putting more vids out soon!
@@chadgraceyLIVE Looking forward to it! Can you do some songs from The Distance to Here?
These are absolutely the best! Keep
Rocking Chad!
This was perfect 🥁 Would love to see you drum "Run To The Water" sometime too!
Saw the Secret Samadhi tour Perth, Western Australia 12/5/97...peak 1990's rock!!
I was there as well! My first Live show and one of the best I've attended
@@iwalktheline00 awesome! Small world this internets stuff 🙂
Man that snare run at 3:16 picks up the intensity even more than the first chorus and just rocks. Thanks for doing these 💥

Would love something from The Turn! 🤞 Some of your best grooves are in that album.
I may do that. Was listening to it the other day.

When you're ready to tackle a U2 song. Where the Streets... or Like a Song please! 😀
Odd, when did Chad join U2?
