    Cravings are responsible for most diet failures. This video will help you end your cravings and get the diet results that you are working hard to achieve. You can stop sugar cravings with this simple approach, once and for all.
    A meat based diet is the healthiest option for the human body according to Dr. Baker, Dr. Berry, Dr. Ede, and may others. Keto and carnivore diets are both examples of healthy meat based diets. Low carb diets can work but overtime can lead to issues. If you are eating low carb, please monitor your health.
    Health and happiness take work. Make working on it part of your daily routine and get on the road to health.

    I approached it a bit differently & identified all the Keto foods that I liked. Initially I did a lot of bacon and eggs which kept me satiated until the afternoon, then some sort of meat heavy dinner & veg. I had heard of the Keto flu (withdrawals) so bought some electrolyte drinks to counter that. Everyone's path is different & getting off the carbs can be hard, but for me...when my A1C hit 10.1, I knew I'd made the right decision. Too bad I hadn't stuck with Atkins 20 years before.

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  2 месяца назад +2

      Hindsight is 20/20 and it doesn't help us with the future. But, even on Atkins, there is a belief that you will reintroduce some carbs. Those carbs could eventually re-engage your addiction. We see this even with people doing keto because of carb creep.
      It is terrific that the electrolytes helped you. I will also point out, you had an A1c of 10.1 to scare you into staying on track.

    Thanks for this video! The withdrawal I felt from all the phases of Intermittent Fasting, Keto, then Carnivore I went through came with literally having to go to bed early every night for weeks at a time during each phase so I wouldn’t be tempted by the food in our house. Not everyone in our household is doing what I was trying so hard to do. Although drinking electrolytes helped with the sick feeling (Keto flu), it was still hard for me stay away from sugar. This video is a reminder to me to stick with what I am doing, (over a year Carnivore) as I am now clearly aware that I was dependent on carbs and sugar and cannot moderate them in my diet.

    Thank you Violet, this is the video for me💡I already know this but NOW I understand this. I guess it is hard for people to make sense of how sugar is poisonous to the human body but then we need it!!….sugar is poisonous in our bloodstream and when we eat sugar/carbs it goes straight into the bloodstream so the pancreas has to release insulin urgently to bring our blood sugar back to acceptable limits….this is how it is poisonous to us. When our stores are full we then store it in places we shouldn’t causing the many medical problems you describe including excreting some in our urine (I hope I’m understanding this correctly). I successfully followed a keto lifestyle many years ago but the problem was I still attached happiness to those high sugar/carb foods and allowed them back into my diet and I have now gained back all the weight and then some and even have Hashimoto’s. I know I can do it again so Thank you Violet this is the 💡moment I needed.

    Been on my absence of sugar and keto for almost 3 years and I'm still craving sugar. I don't get it, I do good staying away from sweets, sodas etc but I crave and crave that sweetness. Maybe it will go away this year. I have found out that if I ever give in and eat a cookie it actually makes it worse later on.

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  2 месяца назад +5

      So I wonder if you are eating things with artificial sweeteners. That would keep your desire to eat cookies and soda alive. Also, keep in mind that if you eat more carbs than your body needs, that will keep your carb cravings alive. So I'd suggest, if you are not eating things that taste sweet, that you track your carbs and then see what level of carbs you are eating. For some of us, the carb count needs to be much less than 20. For me, I needed to be under 18. Perhaps you need to try to get down to 15 or 10 to see what impact it has on your cravings. I hope this is helpful.

    I think I got it! I've been keto/low carb for almost 3 years. Weight staying off BUT lately I feel the struggle between 2 worlds. I don't exactly crave sweets but if there is something at work 1/2 the time I give in😣. Then that sets me off. Home is safe & 1/2 the time when we're out I'm all keto but not always. I want some "fun" food when my hubby & I are out. So does it sound like I should get my carb count lower?

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  2 месяца назад +1

      Since you've been low carb for 3 years and still struggling, I agree that the issue could be that you've always been allowing enough carb to keep you chasing. If you get down to keto numbers for your body, the physical pull towards carbohydrates would likely have subsided by this point.
      Those times when you actually cheat on your diet are also a problem. You are allowing your addiction to re-awaken, which also keeps you chasing. I'd encourage you to commit today to only eating on plan. If you only eat on plan, as your taste buds are replaced over time, you will find the food you actually eat taste delicious and therefore you'll be happy with your meals. Let me know how you progress.

    • @TheRoadtoHealth

      All sugars contribute to weight gain. The problem with fruit runs a bit deeper. It actually has a negative impact on liver function over time. Dr. Ekberg has some videos about that impact, as well as Dr. Maggs. Keto and carnivore will help you lose weight and regain your health. Keep in mind, if you return to a standard diet, the weight and poor health will return.

    Excellent video as usual. Thank you. I do have a question however. You mentioned that when your body gets too many carbs or sugar, it puts it away… I always assumed that if you’re eating a sugar diet, then your body burns the sugar and stores away the fat that you eat. When you get hungry again quickly, instead of burning the fat, like it should, it craves more of the sugar so you have to go out and eat more. What exactly do you mean when you say that when your body gets sugar and carbs, it puts it away?

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  2 месяца назад +2

      Our body tries to clear sugar from our system as quickly as possible because it is toxic. That means that we use what we can immediately as energy and store the rest, which is a lot. So since the average person eats about 350 to 450 g of sugar per day, that contributes to us gaining about 5 to 10 pounds of fat per year (which most of us can relate to). This is based on the actions of insulin. I spoke about my learnings on this topic here: ruclips.net/video/6lywNSG2wCw/видео.html

      @@TheRoadtoHealth Thank you very much for your thorough explanation. As usual you are awesome.

      My understanding is that sugar does not even give us energy, but roths our organs the same way how it roths our teeth. I heard this from dr. Bobby Price who talks about the toxicity in the foods. When I heard this, I got motovated to quit the sugar and the processed foods, whereas I could not quit before, when I was not understanding that. However, sugar replacements are toxic, too. So, the best way in my view is to not Crave, but to eat whole foods, natural un-coloured meats, fruits and vegetables, but not a lot, some fish, real unsalted butter.

    This is good information for a keto diet but I thought inflammation came from high meat or preserved foods. I would think the best thing to beat inflammation is high vegetables and protein but not meat. Perhaps meat occasionally but mostly plant based diet with protein.

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  Месяц назад +1

      Inflammation is what hairnet when our body is overwhelmed by toxins. Sugar toxic in large amounts (more than 20g for most people) and the many other toxins that come f from plants. Human bodies need animal protein and animal fat to build and repair themselves. This has been known for years. Check the biology books.

    What do you think of sweet / purple potatoes?

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  2 месяца назад +1

      Potatoes are starches and are metabolized down to glucose. Regardless of what vegetable you eat, it is important to check the carb count and know the impact it will have on your body. I will add to this, more recently I learned from Sally Norton (you can watch that video here: ruclips.net/video/d1OxtJdez4I/видео.html) that potatoes are high in oxalate. From what I can find, sweet potatoes and purple potatoes (not sure if they are different) each contain high oxalate. Hope this is helpful.

      Carbs are carbs. Freezing them does not change what your body does with them. Freezing foods may change other elements like lectin and other plant toxins but if a food takes that many manipulations to be edible, the food is not safe for humans in my opinion.

    Exogenous ketones mixed with electrolyte water gets rid of cravings immediately for me. They may be expensive but just a small amount (hardly even 1/2 a scoop) works well for me so it’s worth it. They usually have stevia in it so it’s sweet and perhaps that does “satisfy” my cravings but it doesn’t lead to binging. I just suddenly feel normal again … while I pinch my stomach fat and tell myself, eat this instead! Lol

    • @TheRoadtoHealth
      @TheRoadtoHealth  2 месяца назад +1

      I want to offer you a different way of looking at that. If you are still having cravings, that means that somehow, you are still engaging with the problem. In what you've written, the sweetener, stevia, is what is causing you to still need to satisfy your craving for sugar. Our brain reacts to the taste of sweet, not just the carb count. So, the sweet flavor continues to push you to have cravings. Hope this is helpful.

      @@TheRoadtoHealthThanks for the insight! But I actually carb cycle to improve my sleep since low carb exacerbates my insomnia. I don’t necessarily crave sugar anymore, but I intentionally eat carbs after a certain number of days of keto. My issue is that I don’t consume enough fat on low carb days, which then prompts me to eat carbs as my other fuel source more often that I would like. However, this is the time I will use exogenous ketones to remind my body to use ketones and my own body fat as fuel and it works. I’m still trying to figure out how to sleep more than 3 hours a night. I’ve tried everything except supplementing taurine and glycine. I’m waiting for them to come in the mail. I have restricted my diet to meat, eggs and butter but recently I have realized that I have a less than sober behavior towards butter and I really struggle to eliminate it. How is this possible, given that butter is not cheese but real pure animal fat? Is it possible to have an addiction to butter, in your experience? Thanks if you want to answer me and I apologize for the grammatical errors!

    • @TheRoadtoHealth

      I recently learned that whey encourages insulin release. This is a good thing when you are trying to grow a baby but bad when trying to lose weight. Here in Canada, they are allowed to put up to 10% whey cream in butter.
      What we know is that if they can put 10% as the upper limit, they will try to put more.
      I do believe that this can awaken our addiction because it will cause those of us who are still insulin resistant to react.
      I think this may explain why Dr. Mason said that dairy is still a problem (unfortunately he did not elaborate in the video that I saw).

Food companies got us to harm our bodies because we did not want to put in the time, energy, and effort to cook a healthy meal, so we accepted their fake food that was quick and easy. That carbage is now the staple of our diets and the main reason that a census reported that the % of adults are taking at least one medication was 38% at ages 18 to 39, 56% at ages 40 to 59, and 81% at ages 60 to 79; taking three medications or more: 7% at ages 18 to 39, 22% at ages 40 to 59, and 52% at ages 60 to 79 in 2021.
      In order to be healthy, you need to be willing to put in the work. That means that you are willing to learn and apply what you learn. I watch 3 hour plus videos on healthy eating and the biochemistry of the body to better understand my health and to break it down for you. I might watch in one sitting or break it up over the day.
      Not every idea can be adequately explained in 5 mins. And if you don't know why something does or doesn't work, you'll continue to make mistakes.
      Stop looking for the easy answer and look for the answer that gives you the truth, even if it takes you an hour to watch the video and then another 5 hours researching if it is true and how to apply it to yourself. Because very likely, you will have some effort to put in to solve your specific situation. Otherwise, you'll only be putting a bandaid on it. I hope this is helpful.
