I’ve had no sugar for 6 months. No processed foods at all. Very low carb. Keto: fish, eggs, leafy vegetables, onions, mushrooms, cheese, nuts. black coffee, herb teas. I’ve lost over a stone, feel full, have more energy. All my sugar cravings have disappeared. My doctor said everything is better - cholesterol down, blood sugar down, heart rate perfect, blood pressure perfect. No aching, sleeping better. My self esteem has rocketed. Don’t miss junk food at all. Everyone tells me how good I look. Everything he says has happened to me. I’m nearly 70 and feel 20 years younger.
I took the 15 day challenge and it was amazing. I stopped eating processed foods with hidden sugars (which is everything commercial almost). I liked a scone or cookie with my coffee. Most of my snacking was processed, so I thought out substitutes (like blueberries -- sweet, but low glycemic). I ate avocadoes, walnuts, an egg, an apple or a piece of steak or salmon when I needed something! Instead of ice cream I ate frozen blueberries (low glycemic & cold!) I made stir-fry suppers with frozen veggies (for convenience), olive oil and a good protein, instead of a quick processed meal. No french fries (starchy sugars). Here were the benefits. Insomnia went away. I literally sleep through the night. I truy had more energy. Brain fog is 90% gone. I added another 2 weeks and decided I did not want to go back to sugar. I want good health and it was up to me. My skin stopped itching and just looked better. After 7 months a "sun spot:" on my face disappeared. My stomach started getting flatter (a sign of a healthier liver). Inflammation and aches went away. I can lift my legs to get into pants (balance better). Walked 2-3x/week (to my ability). I know my immune system is stronger. I feel 10 years younger and am not suffering, so this has become a life style. I feel better. At 7 months, I have lost 49 lbs. I am much healthier. Try it for 2 weeks to get past the cravings and think ahead on hunger/snack substitutes. Not that hard! I kept my coffee! I'm not going back. Wish you well and better health!
I have been doing it for almost two months and have experiences that you just mentioned... it's encouraging and I wish to continue with this endeavour.
Congratulations! I've done it too, and the changes are amazing. 😮 I noticed my skin was so much softer and I had tonnes more energy. I'm not going back either. ❤
I have not had sugar for about 25 years. Maybe I get enough in a little bread or food but sugar itself makes me very ill. I learned to drink my coffee black instead of the sugar I used to put in it. I have not had an ice cream in over 20 years. The last ice cream made me very ill. I am now 92 years old and still have the energy to cook my meals and clean my house. I still function but with a certain amount of severe RA. Am a cancer survivor. Still live alone in my home and gardens. Doing quite well. Very small and weigh around 95 lbs. My mentality is still sharp,. I still do artwork and hobbies. Who needs sugar? I did not like sugar as a child. My mom would make hot cocoa for use in the winter time and it was so sweet I could not tolerate it. Also sweet ice tea and I still cannot drink sweet tees
Suffered terrible arthritis in my knees, have managed to stop eating sugar as it takes the pain away. As soon as i start eating sugar again the pains come back.

I'm 6 weeks sugar free. I still eat sweet whole food like dates, sultanas and fruit but I don't eat processed food with added sugar. The addiction and cravings took a full 30 days for me to get over. I also quit alcohol, bread, pasta, cookies, crackers cake. Within a month my sleep apnea was cured. My quality of life has improved drastically. I am not going back to eating the old way anymore, the pay load is too good now.
OMG thanks so much as I have developed sleep apnea and it's the last straw pushing me to go off sugar and I am hoping it will work. I wake with headaches and nearly fell asleep behind the wheel. I refuse to live with it, and with other health issues that have crept up on me after a lifetime of sugar addiction I need to change. I''m 56 and not diabetic but headed there. I'm quitting bread and pasta (I have celiac and all the gluten free alternatives are made with highly refined bad carbs) and other sugars also. I'm a few days in and have been eating less sugary fruit, like berries, as my treats. I'm so glad I saw your comment so thanks for sharing how it's helped you.
@@joan-lisa-smith I come from a long line of sleep apnea sufferers. My father has it, my sister is on a CPAP. I eventually started getting symptoms, and it was destroying my health. The reason why a whole food diet fixed my sleep apnea is that it prevents inflammation. Most sleep apnea is primarily caused by being over weight and inflammation. Please don’t be concerned about eating sweet fruit, the fructose is bound in the fiber and ensures slow release into the intestines. Fruit juice causes inflammation, whole fruit doesn’t. Avoid all alcohol, all baked goods, all refined sugar and all other processed foods, including gluten free options. It will mean preparing your meals by hand. I also added daily walking. I can assure you, you will lose the extra pounds and your sleep will gradually improve until the sleep apnea is completely gone. Good luck!
@@Simon-pl2zi Yes, I'm avoiding all that and oils (except some avocado or expensive high quality olive oil on rare occasion). All the processed, and often rancid, seed oils cause inflammation. One good thing about giving up bread is I no longer have margarine! I have chickens and a garden so my old breakfast was eggs with gluten free toast with margarine and coffee with 3 sugars, now it's an omelette (a tad of butter in the pan) with a ton of veggies and chives from the garden in it and a black coffee. Now that I cut carbs/sugar out of my breakfast I don't spend all day craving sugar anymore. Congrats on healing yourself and thanks for the tips :)
I can see that as a possibility...but the benefits of getting off sugar are simply all around better health. I've had to do it twice in my life for a candidas overgrowth causing my entire body to be covered with rash. I had to go slow as I am an addict....so it's a matter of slowly incorporating healthy foods that I love and slowly removing foods with sugar. It's takes time ..the rash disappeared slowly....but if I ate sugar..the rash would come back. I'm over that for years now but still want to eat less sugar since it triggers inflammation and arthritis. Not to mention the highs and lows.
I am a sugar addict - have ALWAYS had a sweet tooth - and seem to have gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. I am going to try, once more, to get off it on a daily basis. If I can have a sweet once in a while, I am hopeful that I can still maintain a low sugar diet as I KNOW how inflammatory it is since my joint issues have also gotten progressively worse as I have gotten older. The good thing is aside from that I am a VERY healthy eater and that is probably the only reason I am not a full blown diabetic as this point but my blood glucose has recently risen above 100 each morning (fasting) and that is scaring me into action.
Third day without sugar and carbs.. No side effects! But I eat big portions of green leafs vegetables and a lot of proteins as well as fat. No cravings at all! I am trying intermittent fasting 6/18 and I am not even hungry! For now I would say two meals a day would perfectly do!
I quit sugar and other simple carbs a while ago. When I walked by a bakery, I felt like a shark smelling blood. The smell of pastries caused an insane urge. Fortunately that stopped after a few weeks. Every meal was weird, I was full but I still felt hungry. My body was used to being full = sugar rush. I had to learn that those are separate things. The withdrawal was no joke.
Sugar is like alcohol. You will always be addicted to sugar. I agree with everything you say, except that you will be able to still enjoy sugar once in a while. It’s the same as alcohol. If you eat sugar, it won’t take very long to quickly begin to eat more and more and more of it you’ll be back in the same boat that you were. We don’t need sugar and if a person is addicted, they will always want sugar. It is a matter of what do you want more. Do you want to live with all the inflammation with the weight with mood swings, etc. Or do you want to feel better be more healthy be happier because you’re not giving into an addiction. It is very worth it to stop eating sugar in so many ways.
I call myself a “reformed sugar addict.” I gave up all my sugary junk food and desserts in December 2021. I felt really grumpy the first 7-10 days as I was detoxing off sugar, but then it passed. I do not drink alcohol, no coffee, not even tea. I actually enjoy drinking water. I do enjoy fresh fruit as a treat. I also love dried fruit like dates, but have to be careful with those because they are so high in sugar. I am mostly gluten-free too. Happy to say I don’t miss my old sugary binge foods. I know I can’t eat just one bite or just one piece. The addiction will kick in again and it’s not worth playing that game. Thank you for talking about how important it is to get off sugar. Truth!
I gave up sugar for 6 months once and I discovered how nice other things like bell peppers began to taste. Stupidly I went back so here I am trying again.
@@beautyishername2023 No. your taste buds sort of deaden to more subtle flavors when you get used to constant sugar. Kind of how like extremely loud music deadens your hearing to softer volume things.
I quit red wine 2 weeks ago. I also started cutting back on sugar intake....its about a third of what it used to be. This video has convinced me to totally eliminate sugar eventually. I have suffered from an eye condition Ectropion. My eyelid was constantly irritated. I have noticed a huge change in how my eye looks and feels. I also suffered from a chronic inflamed bursa of the heel. I am now completely healed (also with the aid of a corticosteroid injection)...the reduced sugar has a role and I am determined to carry on in my quest to quit sugar.
I haven't 💯 quit sugar but 90 something percent and my body has changed all for the better. Exercise regularly as well. Also little to none artificial sweeteners and refined carbs. I never drink alcohol, have no desire for it, luckily . Lost 35 lbs since December 2022.
R u still on , continuing with the no sugar diet , i am thinking to start , but the only thing stopping is my morning cups of tea 😢 , how did u cope up for the first couple of days , kindly advice
I love what you say here about not quitting it forever. I have definitely had my ups and downs with sugar. Recently, I went 18 days without sugar, then on the 19th day, I gave myself permission to eat sugar. Not only did I find I didn’t want to buy as much in the first place, but I ended up throwing stuff away, because I didn’t want to eat it all. I also realized it really wasn’t enjoyable. I made a story up in my mind that it would be so much fun, but it really wasn’t. Then, I ended up with phlegm that I haven’t had in days, a headache that I haven’t had in weeks, and acid reflux. I have started again, and plan to go at least two months without it, at which point I’ll be at Disney World, so we’ll see what happens. Most people I listen to think of sugar as the devil and that it isn’t good to eat it ever, but I’m starting to realize I don’t really feel that way and don’t want to feel that way. I definitely want to go back to eating the way I did when I was younger. I’d eat a piece of cake while out to eat, and never felt as though I couldn’t stop or that I wanted to eat sweets day after day.
Oh my. I'm super hooked to sugar right now, its going to be difficult for me to stop but I'll do my best. I'm so glad I watch your video Dr. Carlos. Thank you so much.
I was a sugar addict. I tried to tape her off by using Stevia during four months on keto. It wasn’t until I went carnivore that I lost all urges for sugar. That was 18 months ago. I agree with everything. This doctor said except that I believe my skin got better because I consciously gave up all seed oils.
I’m 45 and have terrible memory, joint popping, and gastrointestinal bloating so I started to cut out sugar and caffeine. I can tell you that this doctor is right. 1st couple of days I was sluggish. And had to pee a lot. I couldn’t even sleep! However, I did notice no more gassy tummy. I’m now on day 7 and I can sleep. My focus at work is way better and so is my memory. I have more energy and fruits and veggies taste better! I drink tea now and eat fruit for energy. I’ve had to prepare my meals so I can actually control sugar. I still have cravings but I just tell myself I can have it tomorrow, then I forget about whatever I was craving.
@@camillakilleen7118 it took me several weeks before my sugar cravings disappeared. DO keep it up - 7 days is only the beginning of your journey. I’ve been sugar and carb free for 14 months and at 69 I feel about 40! Never felt so well. Good luck!
Sir, everything you have said I can fully relate to. Your points are so spot on! I gave up coke 1.5 yrs now and have experienced the benefits. My next challenge is to completely give up artificial sweetened beverages like Pepsi Max. It took me 28 days to be completely free of real coke and I'm expecting Pepsi Max will be easier. Bad Habits are hard to beat. Can I say this, the taste bud also changes its perception to saltiness. I usually like chicken salt with chips, but after being free of Pepsi Max for 4 days, I am not liking the saltiness anymore. Just my observation. Thanks for an amazing presentation. Note: I do enjoy fruit more now but I don't go overboard...10 grapes, or 10 cheeries. No tiredness after or joint pain.
I do not add any sugar to drinks or foods, but I am hooked on the little French brioche cakes, struggling to only take one a day! Mouth is painful with oral thrush and tongue very sore. I have found that my high bp comes down with adding CELTIC SEA-SALT to my diet.
I did this. By the 3rd or 4th day i felt tired, drained, headache and easily irritated. I hung in there though and by 14 days i lost alot of inches apparently because clothes that were snug weren't anymore. I also lost 11 lbs. I decided to continue and didn't have cravings. Im proud of my results. I do think i started having insomnia some though, after a while. Oh and my face looks younger and my skin looks healthy and people have been compimenting me. 😊

@@beautyishername2023 it’s quite difficult to give it up. I’ve fallen back into the cycle of eating sugar again, but constantly doing my best to lean off of sugar as of now. Addicted to the core when it comes to sugar… but I am praying every day for the strength to stop indulging in it. Good luck with everything.
Today is the 13th day of keto. I'm a sugar addict. I feel fantastic. First time in many years pain free. I have a new knee and repaired hip. Bad arthritis in my fingers/hands. I am amazed and delighted to feel so good. Do I still crave sweet? Oh yes I do but I don't crave it enough to return to my old bad habits.
I had cut out sugar and then i came down with a sickness and just have been eating anything i want. Hopefully i will heal soon and ill limit sugar again but of course i want to have and enjoy life too. I think as long as we have balance ❤
The thing with addition is that the more you consume it, the more you want it, the worst part is going through the withdrawal, after that, your body really doesn’t crave it anymore. The sad part is that people just quit after things get tough, if you’re in the withdrawal phase, keep going, I promise it’ll feel way better afterward😂
I see that there is a lot to benefit from quiting sugar..As it is I don't take much sugar but I think it makes a lot of sense to give it up completely after seeing your video, Dr. Carlos!.. I am truly grateful for your health advice! Thank you! 😊
I’m going to try this for 14 days by birthday is in the 28th we are on the 14th today . I will have zero type of sugar for 14 days to look snatched for my birthday ! I will update this soon ….
Hi Dr. Carlos... Guess what.., I did exactly what you're teaching us for the better part of last year and it's true what you're saying. I lost wait, addiction and craving for suger plus I started to taste some of the food even much better. Yet only saw your video now... Thanks very much.., it is informative. Yours T. K. Modisane
So agree with this video. Processed sugars are toxic and inflammatory .. I have been saying this for years. In my belief the answer for bringing your body back into balance is PLANT BASED ORGANIC . Eating veggies, (fruits -but not overdoing), legumes/lentils. Avoiding all alcohol, oils, and of course processed baked goods, most breads etc. Most Americans sadly want convenience so they run off to Starbuck's for their sugary frapps and pastries, run through the drive through, and buy frozen, canned and other processed goods. A simple rule is eat things in it's natural form. I don't use oils in cooking ever, either . I haven't had to take Western pharmaceuticals in nearly 20 years, and rarely get sick. You are what you eat. I do make plant based desserts but I can use a little fruit juice, unsweetened vanilla oat milk, or a dab on honey or maple syrup over what goes into most products. Over time your body won't even crave it. Also making your own things.. Such as I make my own raw almond butter without sugar, The best thing I ever did was to stop all baked goods, and sugar and alcohol. One thing I feel is dangerous to say though .. Oh you only need to quit sugar for a while. Not forever. To me that is a loaded statement leading people to be lazy and to backlash. I have seen so many quit sugar for 15 days .. And think .. Oh I'm clean now and go right back to their toxic habits. Americans are sadly notorious for this. The answer I believe requires commitment to changing and finding the substitutes that are natural that work for you. I used to love a lot of sugary baked goods. I started to learn natural ways of making things. I make bar crusts from oats and dates, sweeten pie fruit with myself with just juice and no added sugar etc. When craving something sweet, I'll usually reach for a bowl of pineapple wedges or berries. I have also trained myself over time to not crave the sugary fruits. So I rarely eat bananas, mangos etc and lean towards less sugary fruit. I rarely crave sweetener. I never put sugar or honey in my tea, and I only use a little vanilla unsweetened oat milk in my coffee. People forget that alcohol is a sugar. The best thing I ever did was stop drinking wine, or the occasional cocktail. That alone helped my body come back into balance. In my 20s I was a heavy drinker and sugar person. So I remember how painful and uncomfortable the sugar detox was. And this is of course and indicator of how sugar toxic one is. Now when I do an occasional fast I rarely have any symptoms at all. I also so disagree that "Oh it is ok to once a week go have an ice cream or something sweet." REALLY putting more toxic sugar in your body makes just that much harder to detox and change habits. This is the problem. As a plant based nutritionist I can't tell you how many people I seen go to their doctors to cut out sugar during the week the and then binge with a tub of Hagen Daaz on the weekend. They get no where and never change habits. I was proud of my Dad (Though he recently passed at 93) that used to be severely obese, had quadruple bypass and was a sugaraholic. When he hit 70 he did a complete change going plant based vegan and the changes were amazing. He dropped 150 lbs, reversed all heart disease, got off all meds and even his bald head went back to red hair . He lived to be 93 and his death was related to a head injury not anything having to do with his liver, GI or heart. I encourage people to watch documentaries like FORKS OVER KNIVES. (which includes people with life threatening diabetes and sugar imbalances that REVERSED all the disease ) in just a couple of months eating natural plant based. There are many other excellent documentaries on the toxins in animal carcass, how all pandemics are linked to meat handling and consumption and how dairy leads to many health problems as well. Wishng everyone radiant health. STOP THE SUGAR. The true sweetness of life comes when you have passion in your life and career, eliminate toxic people and situations from your life and spend time in nature just being. Most people use sugar fix as an addition to mask over what is really going on, usually frustration and unhappiness.
Thank you doctor for your valuable and useful information about quitting sugar.I am also doing this experiment since 10 days i am feeling great and i will continue this for 3 months and see the results
Excellent podcast about sugar! We desperately need this knowledge thank you so much for unlightening us, we need this awareness! Very much appreciated ❤ may God bless you! 🙏
I quit sugar for almost 19 days now and now im feeling so much energetic, more focused in my studies and also now i lost my interest for sugar , i never feel an intrest to sweet things
I have tried to do the keto diet several times, and could not because I felt too whacked out going off all carbs at once. However, I still want to drop some weight. So, I decided to quit sugar in all of its forms. I was eating something with sugar in it all day long; muffins, granola bars, chocolate candy, and even ice cream. I have to say that quitting sugar was very easy, and I did not feel any "addiction" or "withdrawal" in the days following my quitting of sugar. Now, I did feel a little low energy the afternoon of the second and third day. I guess my body was used to getting its energy more quickly when I was eating sugar. But still it was no real problem. So, if you are afraid to quit sugar, don't be. I think this "sugar addiction" talk is just hype. Your body will adjust. Just realize that you have to eat enough other foods to satisfy your hunger. Now that I am off sugar completely, I will start gradually eating lower on the glycemic index scale. I am making small changes one at a time to make my life more healthy.
I finally gave up sugar. I’ve got diabetes 2 and developed double vision caused by 6 nerve palsey. I attributed this condition to consuming too many candy bars. It scared me and I quit junk eating and now only eat good health food. I hope I get better.
I really would love 💕 to quit sugar and all processed foods but my 62 year old mom is addicted to sugar and salt 🧂 which is why she is so unhealthy both physically and mentally. I need to give up cookies 🍪 and ice cream 🍨
Thank you Doctor Carlos, Sugar is a very Strong Addiction. I got off Sugar for 14 days and felt so much better, but the minute I went back I couldn’t control it, but I am getting back on No sugar. We eat Grass Fed Meat and Organic Vegetables and stay away from Processed Food, we slip up but then go back to Healthy Eating. ❤
I have been intermittent fasting (17:7) while cutting off my sugar intake for a month. So far i lose 3 kilograms of weight, my clothes fit better, i feel less to none craving for sugary food. Yes.. the first couple of days was so tough, i have migraines at night. But now i could not go back to my old self of being surrounded by sugary content 24/7 😂😂😂
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and now been on the watch for sugars. I stayed away from white rice since it was the cause of my sugar spike been walking on a threadmill for 40 mins a day. 4 times a week and felt much better lost some weight and it feels so good for me to take a dump now since im not constipated anymore. So now i know that sugar really is a poison slowly killing us from the inside.
I have been doing really well with no sugar. I’m going on about week 5! My goal is to stay off sugar until July and see what my physical shows. Hoping to lose weight and not become diabetic.
EWG just sent out an article about toxins in ice creams and popicles so if you are going to purchase these things make sure to check the labels and ingredients.
Dear sir, I have a few questions to ask,: 1. is some qty. of added sugar is necessary for body? 2. is it to be done abruptly by quitting added sugar altogether or should it be done step by step (reduce consumption gradually) to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms? 3. What do you suggest to be done when the withdrawal symptoms are severe and unbearable? 4. If i do 15 days, then what precautions to be taken in future to maintain the benefits or is it a lifetime process? Thank you sir for your time. By the way My Name is Pravin and i am from Mumbai, India
Everything in moderation is the motto I live by. All or nothing thinking never got me very far. It’s hard to stick to extremes. It’s easier to live life balanced and healthy.
Sugar tastes sooo good, but every time I eat it, especially on an empty stomach I get horrible stomach aches and vomit. I basically quite sugar and processed carbs a year ago, have no cravings, and have lost a ton of weight. My body structure is more lean. I am thankful for Monk Fruit and Allulose to help my occasional sweet tooth. :)
I have stopped eating sugar, carbs and the so called “vegetable oils” about two years ago. Great improvement on my skin, I used to have terrible rosacea, now it’s mostly gone. My round tummy is flat again. I occasionally have something sweet if I’m on holiday, but I never have pasta, bread, potatoes or rice because they are not that tempting to me. However, if I go to Italy I usually have a few gelatos, or if I’m in France I have some macarons and that’s it. Most people don’t believe I am 58, which is great fun 😊
@@andreacockerill6676 I eat all sorts of meats, including fish and seafood, cheese, eggs, nuts, avocado and every day I have bone broth. I am still a coffee addict. Can’t live without my daily flat white 😊
Quitting sugar is not difficult. I have done that in past few times . I have even gone for 2 to 3 months will very minimal sugar but problem is sustaining it . Somehow the society we live in and regular family lifestyle throws you back in same sugar dirt. It just affect you on emotional level .Be it at workplace/Bedroom / family gatherings and so on . But after watching your video I m again motivated to give shot and I have to since my blood sugar have reached in pre diabetic 😢.
I’ve been off ALL sugar for 40 days and my weight loss is 5 pounds, I sleep much better, and sugar and carb cravings have stopped completely. In a few months I’m going to have a lipid panel test, and the triglycerides, ldl and hdl should all be in a normal range. One more thing, my energy levels are very good. Sugar is poison ☠️
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this video, as of having experienced some of the symptoms described. When I stopped using sugar in my coffee, to me iniitially tasted horrible for about one mo nrh. This video is encourahing me to knock off other food products that have sugar in it. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
I never knew this until my Cardiologist told me since I have several serious things wrong with my heart.......Sugar is the worst thing for your heart!!! I cut it out but it was the worst withdrawal I could have imagined!

@@chadalexander292in my opinion you do not need to eliminate fruit. Fruit is God's foods for us. There is a huge difference between a Snickers Bar, Oreos and 🍎 apples. Apples are filled with vitamins, nutrients and fiber. The fiber allows the sugar to run through our bodies slowly. Our bodies can understand fruits made by God..a Pop-Tart made by man in a factory I think not. I hope my opinion helped.
@@peacelovejoyandhappiness thank you ☀️ because I'am a fruit person, & the very sweet fruit's I try to stay away from... But I'm happy I don't have to walk away from fruit 🍑 thanks again.
@@chadalexander292 I am so happy to help you with my thoughts. I'm not an expert but, I believe in my heart that God wouldn't make fruit if he didn't want us to enjoy the fruit. I don't over eat on apples but, I'll over eat on a sleeve of cookies, chips or ice cream. There is good reason for over eating those addictive foods. Food companies get paid a lot of money to create the perfect mix of fat, oil and sugar for us to keep returning back to buy more. Whole one ingredient foods made by God do not do the same to us. Our bodies recognize when we are satisfied and full.

Don’t miss junk food at all. Everyone tells me how good I look. Everything he says has happened to me. I’m nearly 70 and feel 20 years younger.
Congratulations, you have found the secret, well done. The results are really worth it 🙌 😌 ✨️
@RandiTafoyaMinistries stop using it all together then.
😍😍😍
wow ur comment is very encouraging
wow well done that is inspiring !
Cece, that is so amazing and inspiring to me. I once did that for a few months and even my asthma was so much better, it was like a miracle!
👍👍👍👍.... Great.... 🌹
I have been doing it for almost two months and have experiences that you just mentioned... it's encouraging and I wish to continue with this endeavour.
Thank you for your testimony. It is very encouraging and I may just challenge myself in 2024.
Congratulations! I've done it too, and the changes are amazing. 😮 I noticed my skin was so much softer and I had tonnes more energy. I'm not going back either. ❤
I quit sugar two months ago & my health has never been so good.
Sugar is a highly addictive poison…🕊
I'm trying to quit. 😢
Try Monk Fruit Sugar! Tastes much better than Stevia!
It's worse than alcohol in my opinion.
@@bmc9504I agree. Sugar is deadly
Also sweet ice tea and I still cannot drink sweet tees
inspiring, thank you
Coffee black is nasty

I'm 6 weeks sugar free. I still eat sweet whole food like dates, sultanas and fruit but I don't eat processed food with added sugar. The addiction and cravings took a full 30 days for me to get over. I also quit alcohol, bread, pasta, cookies, crackers cake. Within a month my sleep apnea was cured. My quality of life has improved drastically. I am not going back to eating the old way anymore, the pay load is too good now.
Good for you
OMG thanks so much as I have developed sleep apnea and it's the last straw pushing me to go off sugar and I am hoping it will work.
@Simon-pl2zi
Stop the fruit! I did! BP IS 120/80 no meds anymore!
I quit sugar for four days, and I lost the will to live. Seriously
I am right there with you. I've quit smoking and drinking over the years ...easy breezy. I am addicted to sugar and am struggling.
My greatest fear!!!😂😂😂
"...like a shark smelling blood." Lol I know exactly what you mean.
Go for the all butter croissants man 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
I quit sugar 3 weeks ago and feel amazing.
Same. I quit almost 2 weeks ago and I’m loving this energy burst
8 days with no sugar and processed sugar❤am loving it
How did you do that, cold turkey or gradually? Thanks
I quit eating sugar 5 months ago today. My weight went from 214 to 178. Don’t want to go back to earring sugar.
Is a sugar necklace okay?
Bracelet sugar is a better option.
SO if I under weight, I will be more skinny and under weight? 🤕
No working out? All that weightless just from not ingesting sugar?
@@saucemasterx911 thats right.
It's like that with soda also.
I agree that I would never be able to moderate sugar.
Not saying I never whine about it either.🤣 It’s hard.
Oh my God. I agree with you. I was completely sugar free for TWO YEARS. I gave in at a party & that was it.
You are spot on. I will always be addicted to sugar. There's no eating it once in a while. If I did, I'd be immediately hooked again.
Truth!
Yes, it's true. It helps us to feel healthier as well !
I go wild with my water ..

@@wilmamanzanillo6968 Yes, of course. I didn’t say I don’t eat sugar in any form. I don’t consider fresh fruit to be sugary junk food.
Great news. Keep it up
I quit caffeine last year, alcohol this year (which I believe is really a sugar addiction).
Working on the sugar! Great video.
You will feel really good quitting booze. You've got this!
I have Stopped eating sugar over 7 weeks ago and I feel absolutely fine, best things I have done. Sleeping well.
I gave up sugar for 6 months once and I discovered how nice other things like bell peppers began to taste. Stupidly I went back so here I am trying again.
Don't beat yourself up. I've quit sugar too, but I will never enjoy the taste of a bell pepper - especially if it's raw.
Me, too!!!
So even the green bell peppers have sugar???
Don’t give up try again. You got this.
@@beautyishername2023 No. your taste buds sort of deaden to more subtle flavors when you get used to constant sugar. Kind of how like extremely loud music deadens your hearing to softer volume things.
It's been 3 weeks with no sugar and I am loving it. My appetite has significantly shrunk, no more eating all the time and I've lost 6 kg.
Thanks Doc
It been 3 weeks for me also.. my coworker brought donut to work I didn’t have any cravings for any.
Haven't had sugar in 4 years, don't miss it.
OMG. I'm 63yrs old. And I never ate sugar. So my kids grew up never thinking about sugar. And today none of them has no weight problem.
Look, as long you are not eating it TOO MUCH, IT'S OK. It's called MODERATION
That's probably why you look young Linda.
@@sharksport01 Possibly. There are some people who look young and have not as much sugar intake. Called SELF CONTROL AND MODERATION.
I cut back quite a lot. But still looking for that snack. Recovering from cancer. Cancer loves sugar

I haven't 💯 quit sugar but 90 something percent and my body has changed all for the better. Exercise regularly as well. Also little to none artificial sweeteners and refined carbs. I never drink alcohol, have no desire for it, luckily . Lost 35 lbs since December 2022.

I feel better,I just stopped taking sugar...I feel so amazing 😍
My vision has improved by giving up sugar, and back pain is much better
I’m 7 days sugar free and my joints stopped hurting
sugar-free means no chocolate and ice cream or no sugar (fruit, raisins) etc?
I’m 6 week with no sugar, all of a sudden one day I could walk up and down the stairs and I felt like I was 20….im really 54
Hi it might be difficult to stop , but not anywhere nearly as difficult as being I’ll with bad life choices ,
I was a sugar addict. I tried to tape her off by using Stevia during four months on keto. It wasn’t until I went carnivore that I lost all urges for sugar. That was 18 months ago. I agree with everything. This doctor said except that I believe my skin got better because I consciously gave up all seed oils.
He talks so smoothly, i am trying to give up sugar from now.
Cut the cravings by cutting carbs. No insulin spikes, at all. No cravings which can push you off the wagon.😢
@@camillakilleen7118 it took me several weeks before my sugar cravings disappeared. DO keep it up - 7 days is only the beginning of your journey. I’ve been sugar and carb free for 14 months and at 69 I feel about 40! Never felt so well. Good luck!
I quit sugar for a month. I felt so much better! I need to do it again and just stay off!
😊 trust me it works

Look at youuu doctor now making videos in English!
Bravo
I am Colombian too and a follower in your Spanish channel!
MAY ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS YOU DOCTOR

I need to quit ice cream. I've already given up alcohol, bread, potato chips, and dairy milk.
Sugar is an addiction like smoking or drinking or drugs. That’s why it’s so hard to break and people hide it or make excuses.

I quit sugar for almost 19 days now and now im feeling so much energetic, more focused in my studies and also now i lost my interest for sugar , i never feel an intrest to sweet things
Gracias dr fui muy adicta al azúcar ahora consumo mucho menos voy a dejarla del todo por dos semanas
I do not eat meat and fish and when I stopped I also stopped feeling hungry and feeling tired. I also lost weight and now this is my style of life.😘

Dear sir, I have a few questions to ask,:
1. is some qty. of added sugar is necessary for body?
2. is it to be done abruptly by quitting added sugar altogether or should it be done step by step (reduce consumption gradually) to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms?
Just so everyone knows, fruit sugar is not the same as processed sugar.
What about fruits that have sugar
I really Love your explaination❤️❤️❤️ thank you
DR,CARLOS, THAT is very helpful tips thanks for sharing keep it up good work.
I’m so motivated to give up sugar. Thank you so much!
You can do it.
Everything in moderation is the motto I live by. All or nothing thinking never got me very far. It’s hard to stick to extremes. It’s easier to live life balanced and healthy.
Doesn't work for addicts.
What kind of things do you eat? thanks
I noticed that if I use sugar or a sweetner in my coffee, now I can tell tbecause it leaves a bad taste in my mouth with sugar. This video is encourahing me to knock off other food products that have sugar in it. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
Very well put together, very informative - thank you
I never knew this until my Cardiologist told me since I have several serious things wrong with my heart.......Sugar is the worst thing for your heart!!! I cut it out but it was the worst withdrawal I could have imagined!
I've been on a sugar kick for quite awhile and I'm less hungry when im eating it. However i agree with the rest of it.
You feel much better without them.
Sugar is my biggest hurtle to living a healthy , fulfilling life.
Really life rocks without sugar. No craving for food or binging all the time.
I quit sugar 7 months ago. I had joints pains and osteoarthritis. I learned that its the sugar thats causes all this.
I switch to keto diet at the same time. The results is bluffing !!!! All of the above ! Thanks doctor for this informative video.😊
I will try it
Its been 29 days on keto, completely stopped refined and processed sugar, did keto + intermittent fasting of 18-20 hours , + i broke ny carb break with a potato.
I quit sugar a few years ago. Now I could not stand anything sweet anymore
So if you quit sugar, do you have to stop eating fruit too?
@@chadalexander292 of course, except avocado. I do slow myself a few blueberries though because of their tremendous health benefits
I just started almost a week now. It's definitely hard but I know it will be worth it
No kidding about addicted!!!!! I start climbing the walls after 5 days looking for my next sugar fix!!!!.
WELL!!! maybe not that bad, but it is a hard thing to break away from all those sugary treats or foods that produce sugars. Over the past several years now I have cut back on sugar contented foods and I don't miss not eating them. Not completely sugar free, but it has worked well for me with my new dieting.
Thanks and take care.
I'm very pleased that I found your channel. Thank you.
Thank you Dr... Explained so well... I'm going to try this quitting of sugar..
I quit for 2 weeks and it's one of the hardest things. But week 3 was easy and I really saw the benefits
100% agree, I am on day 14 of quitting sugar and moving to a very low carb diet. Much more alert, don’t sleep during the day anymore, sleep much better at night, inflammation is down noticeably. I have no food cravings and don’t get hungry amazingly. I have lost 9 pounds in 14 days.
I really want to quit sugar but it seems like when I stop, my sugar drops and I get the shakes and then I eat sugar and I feel better. What do u do about the shakes?
Have been off sugars since Nov 2023 - best decision of my life.
Very nice explaination sir God bless you and your family
