This work for the left mount gate or Reverse like the one you have. Mine is the right mount gate or Forward. By wiring the way you did my gate will work opposite. It will forcefully close with or without object in the way but wont open if there is an object in the way. I am thinking about toggling mine to REV and swap the magnet position. It would work but I am not sure it it will cause any problem later.
I'm going to be installing a new opener this week or next (depending on shipping times) completely opposite opening setup as mine. I'll let you know what might be different. I do remember that I had to swap 2 of the wires controlling the motor when I originally set mine up, so it's possible that something else needs to be swapped with regards to the infrared sensor. I'll make sure I post a video once I get it working. Thanks for sharing this with me.
Hmm.. well it works correctly the way I have it wired and it's been up and running for 2 years flawlessly. 🙃 Thanks for the information because that may be why others have issues with theirs.
I did exactly what you have shown here but it doesn't stop the ha gate from closing. In fact after it closed it would not reopen. It's still trying to close but it's at the limit so the motor is humming while trying.
Hi I followed your exact instructions on installing the infrared sensor on a co z gate motor however the sensor picks up but gate continues in the same direction instead of stopping or changing direction and other tips ?
Thanks for the video. Can I use two sensors to check both sides of the gate for obstructions? I guess I would just have double the amount of wires in those same terminals?
Another question how do I get the automatic close once the gate has been opened? And how do I set the seconds before it closes the gate automatically? Thanks!
That's also something I have wanted to know too. Unfortunately, I've never found the information. I'll bet it has something to do with the dip switches on the panel board inside the unit, but I can not be sure.
Do you remember wich 2 terminals had that little short wire connected to? Seems my sensor went bad and I think I need for a my gate to operate again. Until I replace the bad one.
I'm not sure I understand which wire you are referring to. Is it one from the sensor? If so, can you tell me the color? I'd be happy to open my panel back up and use it as a reference.
I have my co a set up just like yours same direction and everything but when I wire it like yours the gate is closing on me when motion is detected any advice?
This specific sensor model is just one powered sensor and a non powered light reflector mounted on the other side, convenient, but a bit expensive at 50 bucks vs the co-z ir at 20
Sure did. As seen in the video. The sensor has since failed, so I have just not connected a new one. It suddenly has decided, no matter what, the gate must open and remain open (bummer)
I have a COZ 1400, connect the photocell from left to right, the gray color, in the middle the white with brown and on the right the blue and it does nothing, the sensor does not turn on the light or anything
I installed and for some reason it works backwards. When I open gate if I cross sensor it will close. Does nothing when opening gate and crossing sensor. Any ideas
I never had issues with crossing the beam and it closing instead of opening. Without seeing your wiring I can only assume you have one set of wires flipped. My guess is you have your sensor installed incorrectly.
Hi not sure if you fixed your issue or not. But mine was doing the same thing. Our instructions for installing the gate told us to set our direction in reverse because of how the gate was positioned and set our magnet pickups backwards. This worked fine without the sensor but the sensor can not be set up backwards. I had to reverse the direction via switch on the board and reverse the positions of my magnet stoppers. Hope this works for you too.

Were you able to find out the correct setup for the right mount gate or Forward? If you do, can you share? My gate works the opposite.
this video was phenomenal, thanks!!
To make it work correct to the left the Gray in the Middle White and blue and to the Right the Brown .Black is not used

@@nathanielross1239 Hey buddy Do you know how to wire the mhcozy wifi relay switch to it?
short but very helpful ....thanks

I have the same damn issue
There was originally a jumper on the terminals IR and ground , did you remove it or does it have to remain
Removed
Do you happen to know what gauge the wires are? Is it 22AWG?
Thanks for the video. Can I use two sensors to check both sides of the gate for obstructions? I guess I would just have double the amount of wires in those same terminals?
I remember when I set mine up saying that it was only designed to work with one sensor.
Another question how do I get the automatic close once the gate has been opened? And how do I set the seconds before it closes the gate automatically? Thanks!

It's ok I found it. Thanks
What brand of sensor is that? And could you let me know what each wire is like which is 24 what is com and ground and which is the ir thanks so much

That seems to be just a switch on the panel. Inside the panel there's a switch to change the direction of travel.
My IR sensor has no gray wire.
BLACK and WHITE are power
GREEN common
BLUE and BROWN open normally and close normally.
Any suggestions ???
Do u run wire to the 2nd sensor on the other side?

Why did you NOT hook up the Black wire ???
I have a white, brown, blue, yellow and black wire, no grey, you know if my black is my grey or is the yellow gray? thx
I'm not sure. In my video you can see I didn't use the black so you could try using the yellow where the Grey on mine goes.
Except you forgot to mention about the black wire. Do you just leave it hanging there?
Sure did. As seen in the video. The sensor has since failed, so I have just not connected a new one. It suddenly has decided, no matter what, the gate must open and remain open (bummer)

What is the name or model of the sensor? Maybe an Amazon link
It is listed in my video description. Thanks.

@@williamwhite7041 Thanks for sharing this information. Glad you found a solution that effectively works.
My wires are red, green blue and white
I think is better if you dont install it it helps the thiefs
You are not showing it while it works for you.. Proof is in the pudding. Other videos have a different wiring though..
