I installed 2 of these gate openers 2 years ago and thank God haven't had any problems. Mine are the 1400 lbs one.Good luck brother it is still a good deal. You can't get a gate for under $2,000.
Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. We are 3 years in now and it’s still working. Needs occasional maintenance, but, all in all, really solid unit. Good luck my friend!
Thank you for the vids on this Co-Z unit. I just bought a similar unit and will be installing it within the next few days. I've been watching your videos and taking notes. Very helpful information. Thanks for sharing. 👍
I bought mine a few months after you got yours. It has worked great the past 4 years and then yesterday it wouldn't open. The chain was broken and I repaired that only to discover the gate wasn't stopping when the magnets made contact with the limit control switch when opening or closing. I suspect that's what broke the chain and I am thinking the limit control swith has gone bad. Now I'm torn between looking for a new limit control replacement switch ot just getting a new unit. They are not that expensive and I'm afraid to invest in a limit switch only to have something else go bad.
I like mine too got mine in August of 2019 and last week did the same situation yours doing now it locked up completely even when you use the key I had to take the chain off to move it but I will order another one when I get the money it was worth the money and time it's been a real good opener anyhow that's my comment have a nice day
Try flipping the the reverse switch on the bottom half of the circuit board. I had this problem and I flipped the little black direction switch and it worked ! After it starts back working you can Actually put it back in its original position, or look leave it as is
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it. Our issue turned out to be the wire to the sensor came loose. The drought caused the gate to shift/rub. the vibrations caused the unit to shake and it came loose. Easy fix once we found it.
I know this is old video but let me comment what I think is happening. I too have this motor for about 7years still going strong. I’d installed about 6 of these units. When I watched your video, I’d noticed that your gate doesn’t have a stopper at the end, which the magnetic sensor is passing the mark on the motor. When you try to close it, since the magnetic has passed the mark, the magnetic sensor is reading as if it needs to be opened again, that’s why is behaving such way. Put a gate stop on the wheel or the gate exactly where the magnetic meets the sensor while the gate is opened. Hope this helps.
Thanks for posting this video! How do I open it up to access the internals? My gate folks mounted it about waist high and built it into our fence - wild.
How do I do this exactly? I noticed my front magnet fell off but the gate is closed a bit more than usual, so the magnet isn’t aligned with the sensor. Also, I tried opening the release bar with the key but it won’t open all the way. Do you think something is jammed?
Yes, I fixed it! Drought had caused ground to shift. So gate was rubbing. The vibrations caused a sensor wire to come loose. Tightened it up and it’s been working great since then.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas I was going to say that, you can see the chain on this video had no grease it was to dry... Noted, keep up with the maintenance. Thanks for your videos. I haven't installed mine yet since I bought it a year ago, but I'm about to do it.. I noticed you don't have an actual install video, or did I miss it?
What you have is a limit switch/ sensor problem. There should be a reset button; cycle and/ or test the sensor on the closing side. the system is sencing the closed position thats why it does not move. This system is affordable, you must conduct weekly maintenance by cleaning the track, making adjustments to the chain and sensors as needed. As you operate it and it moves back and forth foreign objects and general movement will cause misadjustments which must be corrected...
hello all. my cozy sliding gate opener stopped responding to my remote(the silver 4 button fob). i bought and installed in 2018 from amazon - 6 years that i enjoyed much. No problems until now, July 2024. i removed the top case cover exposing the green board and pressed the open button on the remote several times before it responded - the little red light from the green board blinked. but then it took several attempts again for it to respond to close. has anyone had a similar problem?
Scott quick question on the sensors there are three lights green yellow and red, do you know if all three lights are to be on? My gate flopped after I posted that I had a loose wire, now I noticed the yellow light is not on. Thanks for any help.
I just install a week ago , struggle at first about to mount the magnet but after work good . The cable not come with it , use orange extension cord with 3 prongs work perfect. Green, black and white
Do you know where the fuse may be? I’m trying to help a friend troubleshoot the opener. It’s powering on/off intermittently. Currently no power to board it appears .
Hi I just left a comment on your other video, I just received mine, it looks similar. Have you tried to reset it? (or shut the power off, and re-pair the remotes? If you don't hear any grinding noises in the motor / gear box, possibly a magnet switch does not work. Can you replace the magnet switches on the motor part to put the upper to lower an the lower to upper and let the door in the open position to see if it closes but does not open? if this is the new problem, the magnet switch is bad. However, the not closing on the delay timer seems to be a controler issue, if resetting does not fix it and the magnets replacement test, not sure what else. I just got mine today and will be installing tomorrow. Let me know how it went, you got my email in the other video comment.
Hello Alex. Thanks for the suggestions. Great ideas. I found the issue. With the drought, the ground shifted and gate was slightly hitting controller. The vibrations caused wire on sensor to come loose. Tightened it up and realigned gate. All is good now. Good luck with your install.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas update!! After using mine for a bit over a year, similar problem to yours occurred. I tried to open the lever switch with the key to free the sprocket so i can operate the door manually, and the lever would not open it was being locked up with pressure. I had to disengage the chain to remove the tension and it opened to no help since i had already removed the chain. I am troubleshooting it now i am pretty sure the problem was caused by misaligned magnets by movement of wood (wood fence gate). I am about to troubleshoot however one area i have not been happy a out is the safety. The side sensors worked fine when breaking the beam gate would stop and open. However when you try to stop the gate with manual force (i.e. just lime regular garage doors auto open when they hit an obstacle at the bottom (kid/dog etc), this gate is unstoppable. It continues to shut all the way. There is a turning switch sensor on the module that insinuates its for this reason to adjust the sensitivity but no matter where i have it the gate cannot stop half way and open if there is an obstacle on the way.
Hi im having the same problem. Which sensor wire are you talking about that came lose? I only remember hooking up the power wires. And had to position the magnet. Other then that i dont remember any sensor wires.
In my case, it was the gate sensor that connects to the unit. It’s the sensor that stops the gate from opening if something is blocking the gate. Hope that helps.
Hello R C, that’s the problem with this opener, there is limited support or literature to trouble shoot. You may have to re-sync the “key fob” if that is the control you’re talking about. Good luck.

Hey Scott I hope everything is going well just to say thank you so much you were so right about the photocell sensor I replaced them and my gate opener it's working properly. Thanks again. God bless you an all you do.
Thanks for the video! To fix mine I had to reposition the magnet for the sensor, not sure what changed / moved but it seems to be a bit lower now. It worked fine for almost 2 years before that.
I love how you posting this video has made you the go-to for all technical support.
Please keep up the diligent work! Haha

Hi. I see at Amazon that this gate opener is a Gear type which needs a track to run on it. How did you get it to work on Chain rolling mechanism?
