Thank you for adding this video I believe I'll have a much easier time now installing this unit. One thing I realized when you mentioned about the chain being placed on top or on the bottom is probably because it depends on whether you want your gate to open towards the left or the right. Thanks again!
Good luck. Hope this helps.
Thank you, my hang up was the magnets. Your illustration put me at ease. I will complete my installation now.
Good luck. I’m happy the video helped you.
For additional security, you should install a "U" bracket on the pillar so that when the gate is in the closed position, the gate will slide into the U- portion of the bracket . This secures the gate from being lifted off the track (swung in or out like a door on a hinge), which would allow someone to gain access to the property.
Yes. It needs one. We thought about it but never got around to installing it.
excellent point. I hadn't even thought of that
@@HeritageFarmsTexas love your videos what type of electric cable did u used?
Get the extended warranty when buying these available from Amazon at checkout! I did as 2 years later the motherboard needs replacement. Opener will sometimes work and sometimes not. I have 6 remotes and all gave the same non functioning results, so it wasn't the remotes. Testing of the unit got it working occasionally but only if the remote is no more than 1 feet from the unit. I've been paid already from the insurance and motherboards are available from Aliexpress or Ebay for about 60$. When it was working, it was opening about 8-10x per day and I was able to activate from about 300' away... very happy with the results.
Thanks for the advice. Probably a good item to buy insurance on.
Awesome video very helpful, I was debating on purchasing this unit, but after watching this I’m sold. Beautiful place you have!!!
Hope it works well for you. You may have to tinker with it to make it work. So far so good on our end. Time will tell.
Looks great! This was perfect timing for us, we are actually in the market for one of these. Thanks for posting. God bless y’all👍
Homestead and Hustle - thanks for watching. Amazon is where we got this one.
I have one of those but have a problem with the gate opening on its own sometimes. Any ideas what could cause the problem ?
Two things.1. Kimber is getting so big. 2. Good review. You did good on it.
Hamiltonville Farm - Thanks Hank. Yes, she is growing daily. I’m so glad this project is almost over. It really transformed the backyard. Still have conduit and final wiring to do. On the downhill slide.
Nice, really nice. Looks good, opens up the area around the corporate offices. Coco approves well done.
Life Behind A Cow - thanks. We have really enjoyed it so far. Need to finish the conduit now.
Hello just bought this unit… can you tell me if the power cable came with the unit and what other tools are needed for installation thank you
Thanks for the video. My Co-Z gate opener has been working for 4 years, all of the sudden, it only works in one direction. We opened the motor box, manually moved a switch up and down, we can make the gate work one direction, but not the other direction. By moving the switch down, it reverses the direction the gate opens/closes. Something is off. We now pulled open the key/lock handle, disengage the automation and open/close the gate manually. Have you had such experience?
No I haven’t. I’d check to see if both of your magnets are aligned. Good luck. That’s a good run.
What beam sensor did you use and how do you wire it?
I made some gate openers when i worked at a fab shop
Motor and gear box wss $150
Belt drive over chain for safety the chain is atached to a rolling gates.
Someone could just use a garage door opener to open ea gate with rollers
No sensors need
Thanks for watching. Appreciate the comments. 👍
I made my gate opener out of a chamberlain garage door motor and old bicycle parts for the gears.
It has been in service for 26 years. It's getting a little tired so I ordered one of the co-z openers. Hopefully, it lasts as long as my frankenopener.
@@ipwee nice ingenuity
@@garybrown9719 TY Truth is, I'm cheap and back then the gate openers were north of a thousand bucks.
Thanks for the video. Since it's been 4 years are you still happy with it or did you scrap it and get another one? thanks
It’s still going strong. I cannot believe it, but it’s true.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas Thanks for the feedback. You said no manual, did you happen to make a wiring diagram? If so I'm like a copy. What's with these China companies, no manuals, or wiring diagrams.
Thank you for the video Scott, I just got my in and will try to install it this weekend, still nice weather here in Texas.
Good luck! We still like ours.
Thank you from Guatemala this video helped a lot
Thanks hope it helped out.
Usted a instalado un CO-Z Swing???
Hi there, nice and easy, your way of talking texan its just amazing , viva texan,....the explanation was great , thanks
Luis Costa Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
Good health for you and family , keep positive with great videos, bless you all.
another great video but, how do you adjust/ turn on the automatic close feature?
Thanks. I think there is a switch on the board for either 30 or 45 second intervals.
Great videos. I bought one of these for a customer. We’re doing a fence and auto gate. Really excited too. Did you have to buy wheels for your gate? Also does it require the concrete pad? No problem if it does because concrete work is my bread n butter. Thanks again for the video and the troubleshooting tips.
Hello, thanks for watching. Yes I purchased wheels for the gate and welded them on. I have a gate video guild on my channel. Yes, you need a concrete pad / anchors for motor, lots of torque. Hope that helps.
the motor in my co z seems to get stuck, only turns a little bit, is it broken or is this something to be configured?
Alberto Mendoza - hello, I’m really not sure. Sorry. I’ve had no issues with mine so far.
I have same problem, just open 3'.
Is there a possibility for backup battery on this?
Good question. Not that I’m aware of. It has a bypass switch you can throw if you lose power to open the gate manually
Nice: I’m going to try it! If so my customers will love it 👍🏽
Good luck. So far so good.
Hi, you mentioned you have it hardwired now. Have you done anything in the event of a power outage and you are on the other side of the fence and cannot get to the manual release?
Good question. We also have a walk through gate. In the event of power outage, we can walk though side gate, then manually open the slider. Thanks for watching.
How do you pair another remote to it
You can program multiple remotes. Just have to hit pair button on control panel. Not bad at all. Good luck.
How far did you place your motor base from your fence gate? The instructions does not mention any measurements for the placement of the motor with respect to the fence. I am ready to pour the cement pad for the base, but not sure exactly how far I need the motor to be from the fence. Nice video, very informative .
Hi,
Very grateful for you. What is the fair installation cost in the suburd?
Thank you
Hello, thanks for watching. Not sure as I’m a DIY kind of guy.
Nice setup too! About to install me an automatic slide wooden fence!
Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Is this machine still working for you after one year of use? How's it holding up?
So far so good. I’m shocked, but has worked flawlessly. Good luck.
Hey wat was the brand and model.of the safety switch...heard u mention "Enforcer"
Hello, it was the enforcer brand. I have a video posted just on the sensor and there is a I tire of the box I. That video. Thanks for watching !
Hi Scott, Is this compatible with HomeLink?
Hello, not sure. We were not able to make it work. But that could just be use. We just keep key fob in car. Works fine.
Does it come with all components for complete installation if sensor adjustment is not required
You only get the motor unit.
thank you for your advise!
My pleasure!
Wonderful video!! Can you explain what is the bottom rail on the concrete?
Thank you
Manuel Lopez - thanks for watching. The bottom rail is literally a rolling gate rail. You can buy them from any fence supply co. You cannot find that at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Has to be a fence co.
Where do i connect th ir sensor, red, blue, green and white wires to, my gate is not motion
Hello, I’m not sure. I’m not an expert. I just kept doing trial and error until I figured it out. Good luck.
Can you program this gate opener with you car homelink?
Hello, I do not believe so. There was nothing in their directions. It does operate like a garage remote though. I may play around and try that. Good idea.
Awesome. It also looks pretty quick. I am in the market for one and didn't want a SLOW one.
Thanks for watching. I’m happy with it so far.
Did you have to cut the power cord to make it work, thats how my installer did, i was little upset installer didn't use the regular electric wires cable for the power
Hello, thanks for watching. I’m not sure what cord you are referring to. We hard wired ours using standard romax and placed it in conduit. Hope that helps.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas ok looks like an regular orange extension cord
Hello, When we first installed it, we did use an extension cord. After we got it working, we hard wired it. Thanks.
How did you do the extension cord trick?
Hello, that was just a temporary test. It’s hard wired now.
Please can the board be reset
I’m not sure how to do that. Can you just disconnect/reconnect the power?
Hi i have question how i can installing the sensor
Hello, I’m not a professional installer. I just installed mine. What is your question?
How does the gate stay upright? Thank you
Hello, I have other videos on my channel that show how we built the gate and rollers. Check them out. Thanks for watching.
They could have designed this much cleaner and simpler if they had had magnets that you could clamp on the chain itself, with the open/close sensors mounted inline with the chain.
Thanks for watching.
I'll just say besides the awesome tutorial on the gate opener. You have a beautiful place sir. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you. I’m a DIY kind of guy. We have worked hard over twenty plus years to get the “corporate Offices” in shape. I’d hire out big projects and do the finish work myself. Appreciate it.
Hi Guys,Can I have the measurement from the motor plastic cover to the farthest end of the middle sprocket bearing?
what kind of power cord do you use and how long is it? Thank you
Hello, it is hard wired.
Thank you
Does it auto closed?
Yes. After 15 or 30 seconds. Depending on what you select.
I purchased two of these same Co-z machines. I too have a problem with the infrared sensor working backwards. I too have my gate set up just like yours. The instructions does say how to run the chain on center sprocket. My question was..... Did you switch the direction of the gate switch on the CPU Board along with the direction of the chain on main sprocket or was the only change made was the sprocket deal? I’m getting ready to install the open gate opener today. Thanks. Good video by the way!
Adrian,
Thanks for watching. My only change was to the sprocket. Good luck.
You have to wire it in a normally open state not normal closed
Good job on this. I never have I stone of these before but it looks simple to me I’ll be installing one for a friend of mine. He said the previous owner removed the old one so it may have existing electrical. I enjoyed watching the video 😎😎😎
Thank you sir. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hello. Where did you find the ground guide ?
You should be able to get them from any fence supply company. I think they’re called sliding gate track.
I couldn't make to work this motor, just opened 3' and stop, can you help me?
Thanks for watching. Sorry, I’m no expert. Just a home owner. I would check your magnet brackets to make sure they’re aligned. That was my biggest issue. Good luck.
Which one is better. Pinion or chain? Can we add a board for smartphone?
Hello, I’m a fan of the chain. As far as adding a smart phone, I have no clue. Sorry.
Nice. I am working in mybgate now.Thank you for the video
Thanks for watching. Good luck on your project.
hey Question what kind of wheels did you go with?
Hello, they came from a fence supply co. They’re designed to roll on that track. They’re very heavy. Not sure if a brand name. Sorry.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas i did not know if they where steel or like brass
They’re steel. Very heavy. However, they’re not rusting. Wonder if they have a coating on them? Definitely not stainless or brass.
Can you provide me what safety sensor you use?
Hello , it’s listed In The video. We also have a separate video on The sensor. Check out our video playlist. Thanks.
Does this come with motion sensors? I have kids and don’t want it to close on them. Does it have a retraction meaning if the gate accidentally hits something it will open back up? Thanks
Kevin T - hello, thanks for watching. The opener does not come with any sensors. You have to buy one separately. There is no retraction from “Touch”. The way this one works is just like a garage door, once the beam is broke, the gate opens and stops. Hope that helps.
Where did you buy the metal gate? Having a hard time making sure the hardware will work with the gate. Thank you!
Hello, we made the gate by welding two fence panels together. We have another video that shows us building the gate. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Is it safe? Can someone open the gate without the remote and release key?
Hello, define safe. It’s pretty safe, but if someone wants in, they can ram the gate and knock it off the track. It’s more of a deterrent than anything.
Can you use a wooden fence with this gate Opener?
Hello, yes it should work with several types of gates. In theory. Depends on width, weight, etc.
Great video sir but your limit magnetic are not right is the reason you had to put the chain over the sprocket instead of under the sprocket the correct way. In the closed position the magnetic goes on top and in the open position magnetic on bottom.
Thanks for watching.
Hi Where do we can buy that sensor that detect that a person walking by.
Vhamper to bumper Emerson Hello, Amazon. Thanks for watching
Does it still work perfectly after almost 4 years?
Yes it does. I would have never thought it. But it does. I’ve had to replace a key fob, but all in all it works. Keep in mind my gate is fairly light and rolls extremely easy. I think a heavy gate would tax it.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas Look, my gate weighs approximately 250/300kg so it shouldn't have any problems
What about the track to slide de gate
Hello, thanks for watching. I’m not sure I understand your question. What bout the tracks? They’re called gate tracks and are available from fence supply companies. You cannot buy them at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Hope that answered your question.
This review helped out alot✌
Glad you liked it. The gate opener is still working great.
So well worth the money, special if its still in use, would you possible know the model number or is it written in your video description?✌
How’s the gate opener working ?
Hello, we are about an year in and it’s been great. I’d highly recommend again. Especially for the money.
Love automatic gate openers! We have a dual gate swing opener - unfortunately there's a dead relay channel (after 6 years of flawless operation) but I don't have schematics to definitely diagnose the problem. Can't replace it right now. Sigh. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks for watching. We love it so far. Hopefully you will get yours working again.
Heritage Farms Texas it looks like you have more than enough room for the sliding action! We’re looking forward to how well it works for you.
I bought this same unit, It did not come with the safety sensor, any ideas!
Hello, check out my other video on the “Enforcer” gate sensor install. Thanks.
Looks good is it still operating ?
Hello, Yes we have had it for over 6 months now and so far so good. Time will tell. Thanks for watching.
Very nice looking place. That gate will be really nice to have privacy. I like what you did in front of your truck with the garden that sets the whole place off. As far as that gate code.... Ahh.. I think I will check in at the regular hotel hahaha
Thanks for watching and we appreciate the feedback. I’m just glad this project is coming to a end. It was more work than I expected.
Can you add a pad lock ?
Hello, I’m sure you could. Thanks for watching.
Is that Hank from king of the hill narrating there?? Awesome job!
Haha, I’ll take that as a compliment. Appreciate you watching.
Why not try solar panel?
Thanks for watching. Solar would be a great option for a remote location. We have power close by, so we went with standard electricity. Good question.
your video are great well explain i am looking a remote antenna to work with this product so i can get a far range to operate remote
Sorry, I have no recommendation On a remote antenna.
Gracias por tu video es exactamente lo que necesito 🙏
Thanks for watching.
Hi from New York and thanks for your video... Good looking!!!!! 👍Now I'm convinced that I can do that installation by my self.... 🤞😎🇺🇸
Thanks for watching. It was challenging. Instructions are somewhat limited. Good luck. So far, the unit is working well.
👍😉🇺🇸
I feel your pain... No instructions. Ours won't shut off closing driving me crazy trying to figure it out.
It was frustrating for sure. Once we figured it out, it’s been great so far. Thanks for watching.
Good Video. There is no customer service at CO Z. You have to figure out yourself. I would like to see troubleshooting video on youtube.
I agree, the info is very limited. It was very frustrating for me to figure it out. Once I did, it’s been OK. They’re terrible for support.
Where is your company i can t find a way to talk to CO-Z/
Hello, I don’t have a co. I’m a individual who installed this unit at my house.
😮 ohhh thank for I found this video this is the exact gate my husband’s trying to install thanks😮💨 …..will be sure to like share and subscribe ☺️✌🏾
Thanks. Glad it could help out.
Good review, thanks alot bro
Appreciate you watching. Hope it was helpful.
Very good 👍🏻
Thanks for watching.
Hey i install one of the this gate open but it didn't come with a timer for automatic closing does the retro reflective sensor have a timing system with it
I think the opener has a timer built in to close after 30, 45 or 60 seconds. It’s one of the slide switches on the panel. Your owners manual should show it. Good luck.
Fine job. I bet you could do a great Hank Hill impersonation!
Gary Doherty - thanks for watching. 👍
Hard wire ?????????
What????????
The orange cord works just fine until you hit it with the lawnmower a few times, lol. I like the price and as you found out, you buy cheap and from China, they almost never give you good directions. Great review.
Just Mike - thanks for watching. Yes the extension cord is temporary until I could prove to myself I could make it work and all the trouble shooting is finished. Now that it is performing well, I will start running conduit and do the final electrical work.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas You have a wonderful looking place there. I guess I was thinking of myself, so many things I want to get done, but good enough for now and run to the next project. you have a great day there in Texas.
Appreciate the feedback. I can totally understand. My wife is asking me daily about that orange cord. Haha.
Thanks a Lot
Hope it helps. Thanks for watching.
Just the control board for my gto sl2000 is $300
Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
Mine stop working within a year
Hello Kay, sorry about that. I’m going on year #2. If it would last two or three years, I’d be happy. We will see. Sorry yours didn’t last that long.
Could keep the Dogs out of it ??
Thanks for watching.
i know my buddy has a lift master paid 1700 thats just crazy eagle is a little more cheaper at 1200 then you have these china made but lets face it most of the name brands are made in china anyways so i am going back and forth between eagle and something like this my money is tightning up tho
I’m 9 months in and so far so good.
YOU'LL BE LUCKY IF YOU GET 2 MONTHS OUT OF THAT GATE OPENER..
Well, we are at the two month mark. So far so good. I agree with you, it’s not a long term unit. If it last 2 years I’ll be shocked. Thanks for watching.
Get what you pay for
So far, it’s all good. Knock on wood. Thanks for watching.
Buy American..ought to be ashamed of yourself.
I’m smiling all the way to the bank. Thanks for watching.
