  • Captured here is the 'hydraulic platform' (HP F24) of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department's (HKFSD) Wan Chai fire station responding for an automatic fire alarm activation. Note how the entire crew of the truck waves at me while driving by, as I had just gotten to know them while visiting the station! A big thank you to the amazing firefighters of Wan Chai!

    You are lucky not only to get the FF to invite you in but also to get this HP, as F24 is now a spare. They have since started using a new HP :D

      tg757 Thank you for the comment! Yes I heard, makes this video even more special :)
      I still have another catch of F24, so that might be the last response video of it as a frontline truck. Have you had a chance to see the new HP up close? Can't wait to see a response video of that! 🙏🏼

      @@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses It is still frontline even today, but just act as sub in for different stations

    wowowow
    would you look at that XD
    did you just go up to the station and asked to talk to them? they probably would've told a local to shoo haha
    you're pretty daring going out onto the road lk that haha
    gotta get that good angle :P
    i believe the title you were looking for is 一級火警自動報火警鐘 灣仔消防局去升降台 ;)

      mlps93 Thanks! No, actually it was the other way around haha ...The captain of the station called me over while I was waiting on the median. They asked if I wanted to see the station, and I said yes of course :D
      Got a full tour of the station and equipment, and met a lot of the firefighters, who are great guys, very friendly. I was there for over half an hour asking them about their jobs and stuff, and they were eager to share and compare to other countries as well. They actually told me that they don't mind the lack of lights because they say most people do move over for them. At the end I even got some HKFSD merchandise from them haha
      Was an awesome visit, and I'll have my video of the station tour uploaded in the near future! ;)
      Btw I may have gotten special treatment as a tourist, but I really doubt that they would deny a curious local if you ask nicely and tell them why you are interested. I have visited many fire stations around the world and they have all been very welcoming! Just try it!

      :O
      how did they notice you? were you taking pics beforehand and they saw you?
      totally not super jealous
      too bad they didnt get a call whilst you were in station haha

    • @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  6 лет назад +3

      mlps93 I had already filmed them responding to several calls that day so they had seen me waiting out there for a few hours.
      That's for next time, I did get a video of the LRU returning from inside the station though ;)
      Had I waited 5 mins longer I would have still been inside when the HP got a call, but I think the view from outside is nicer haha

      True
      But the prized recording will be getting the turnout tones/announcement too XD

      mlps93 Yea that's always cool, captured some of those from the outside when I heard them. And I've gotten a few videos recently in Canada where they got toned while I was recording in the station 👍🏼

      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  6 лет назад +3

      Shadow550 Oh really? Is it already in service?? I would not be surprised if F24 needs to be replaced, they run a lot of calls... 😅

      TGG - Global Emergency Responses ok. But I may need more time cuz I live in Tuen Mun actually, which is far away from Wan Chai...

      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  6 лет назад +2

      Shadow550 Alright I see. If you want to get good videos you always need to invest some time :) ...with this hobby you never know what will happen, sometimes it takes hours for them to get a call, sometimes it's faster... Good luck 👍🏼

      these LED's were retrofitted two years ago
      if you search some of my older vids you can see it still has the rotating halogens lol

    • @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  6 лет назад +2

      mlps93 Sadly the LEDs suck...The halogens (German made if I'm not mistaken) were much better. If they really wanted to modernize they could have picked a MUCH better product, and added grille lights as well (for f*cks sake!! Lol) 😆

      believe me
      the lighting problem is an issue that comes up often even amongst the locals
      but at least the new ambulances are great
