I would like to know if there is a way for "Audio to Keyframes" like in After Effects.
Also it would be interesting if we could sync videos with the beat of a music. For example you want to speed the video slowly up and slowly down, when the beat comes. Also like in After effects with Twixtor.

Just a heads up for anyone using version 17, it is now just called effects as opposed to effects library. After clicking on effects, on the upper left ( in fusion) you will see a templates tab and if you have done everything else Billy said, your effects will be under templates. I did also notice that I didn’t have to select fusion twice as Billy did in the previous version, one time got me to templates.
I messed up and deleted half of my entire project and thought I'd have to painstakingly recreate my effect. This video was an absolute godsend, thank you so much and for making it so simple!!
I just switched from Adobe to Resolve and this channel has been amazingly helpful! Favorite how to's and teaching for resolve on the platform, keep em coming my guy, your awesome!

Hey everyone! Your davinci might not have a fusion template "folder" but instead a file. That's okay! Just save your folder next to the templates file and fusion should recognize it.

Yes, I also had to do this. To make it work, I added subfolders to match the dropdown menu of my Effects Library, so in the Templates folder I created a Fusion folder (to match the Fusion subgroup in the Effects>Templates>Fusion dropdown menu). Then (just for my own organizing) I made a folder in that Fusion folder called Custom and dropped the file in there. Now on my dropdown menu, under Templates>Fusion it added a Custom group in the list with Background, Generators, How To, Lens Flares, etc. You can call the Custom folder anything you want or create other folders if you want to group your saved nodes for your own sanity.

I found out something: When naming your folders or effects, don't put an apostrophe in it because somehow it can't be opened. For example like "Billy's Effects". Just change it to "Billy Effects" and it'll be working perfectly.

You need to have the first letter of the name of the folder in Uppercase. Resolve doesn't recognize a folder name that starts with lowercase from what I've observed.
This does not work anymore for the lastest update of Davinci.

This is exactly what I was looking for BUT I have a mac and I cannot find the Fusion Templates folder on my mac.
I can find the BlackMagic Designs folder but in the Fusions folder there is only a Default Auto Saves folder and a Queue folder - both of which are empty! Any ideas????
In case you're STILL searching, try this path: Library/ Application Support/ Blackmagic Design/ DaVinci Resolve/ Fusion/ Templates/ Fusion/
Create your folder in that folder, drop your file in there. THEN restart your Mac, and relaunch DaVinci Resolve. Then within the Fusion page, go to Effects Library, click Templates/Fusion/ and you should see your folder there.
I hope this helps you or anyone else who stumbles across it!

@@BillyRybka hey so I have been trying something in the colour tab and it took me like 3 hours to complete and I was wondering if there was any way for me to optimize it, what I was doing was I had to use the pen tool in the colour tab to mask around 4 objects for about 30 frames, now it took me a long to do this as the objects kinda chanced shape part way through and I was wondering if there was any way to make this easier, and one other thing, is there any really good way to track 3D Text in the free version?
Great, but I wanted to save the fusion intro which has a couple of sound FX I added in the timeline together in the Power Bin folder so I can reuse it. It's not working though!

When I goto C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Fusion\Templates I only have a folder called Templates, and in that folder there is only Templates and I dont have a 2nd folder called Fusion. Is it becasue I am using the free version?

Isn’t it easier just to drag The adjustment clip with the effect on it into the Media bin, or the power bin if you want it every project?
I can't get to the second fusion. Is something to do with free or paid version of DaVinci?

That was simple... what's the difference between saving as macro and this method?
Note that in Davinci Resolve 18+, you have to go in C:\ProgramData instead of C:\Program Files

I just keep struggling with frames and their numbers!
if I follow a tutorial it starts at frame 0 from where one continues counting frames, if i animate a clip in a movie then it is not from frame 0 and i lose my orientation!
This actually helped me make a pretty decent MW multi-player highlights video. I used the spinning transition and it turned out beautifully!

For anyone in Resolve 18 you can go to effects in fusion then right click on the folder where you want to save it and hit open folder. Then get the .settings file and put it in there! now in fusion it should be there!
Love your work and those amazing tutorials. My dream project? Making short ad clips, because I have marketing skills, worked in advertising with my head full of ideas, so why not make it from the beginning to the very end my own project and not rely on somebody else.

Thanks! Quite helpful! What if I want to save it with audio. So I made an animation and added soundeffekts in the edit tab. I would love to export my animation with the audio. Is it possible? (Tried rendering already, but the audio never comes through)
Thanks for this! But as far as I understood, this saves everything in the node system, so we still have to manually replace Media In, correct? I am wondering how to create effects that we can control from the Edit page's Inspector.

while reusing this fusion component, how do i customise parameters. For example a text move from left to right . while saving this fusion component can i mention three parameter (text-size, x-position, y-position) so that later i can make these 3 parameter as per need where ever i use fusion component.

Hi, Billy, now that DaVinci Resolve is at version 18.1.2, it looks like they have changed again as to how to add a Fusion Node. So, how do you add a Fusion Node Template now?
