Hey all! Hope you enjoyed this video! Next week I am launching a Lower thirds pack!! Im super excited about it! Stay Tuned for that! MAKE THE HOLOGRAM EFFECT IN DAVINCI RESOLVE: ruclips.net/video/UKfDFzsU_Ss/видео.html
One feature, the most fascinating for me: you can select all nodes, then Ctrl+c and paste in a txt document as a simply text, save it, and rebuild the composition selecting that text, copy all and paste in a fusion composition window and voilà! your composition is restored.
Man! I just found you on RUclips! So glad I did! I’m 58yo & just starting videography with Resolve! So many useful tips. It gets a little overwhelming but 1 small step at a time! Keep up the great work! 😀👍👌🥰
For those who interested in arranging nodes 1:12, to avoid setting it every time for new project You can set Orthogonal Pipes and Arrange to grid by default in Fusion Preferences > Flow > Options > Pipe style
@@BillyRybka I'm receiving the parts for my new editing rig today so I haven't actually switched yet. In the next few weeks I'll get a better feel for Resolve on the new machine. BTW, comments like yours and engaging with your viewers will get you far on RUclips, keep it up.
thank you for the tutorial video. I am very new in Resolve. Previously I am using Filmora 9. One thing that I am having difficulty understanding is using fusion function. I would very much appreciate if you could make more fusion tutorials for beginner like me. 😄
Oh I totally get you, fusion looks like a monster but its actually really easy to use. I mean I still am learning a lot about it but yeah, its good stuff!
Lesson 10 of the manual helped me finally feel comfortable with the Fusion page documents.blackmagicdesign.com/UserManuals/DaVinci-Resolve-16-Beginners-Guide.pdf the website also has the files for doing the exercises here www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/training
I just subbed. I love your tips and tricks. I'm coming to Fusion from After Effects (I still got love for AE). I picked up the node system (I even used a 3D camera, which I didn't think I would get the hang off in Fusion). Anyway thanks for helping me get acclimated with nodes.
Hi, thanks for your great tutorials. How can we transform (move, scale...) multiple objects or a group of keyframed objects in animation without affecting keyframes?
Great video. But I disagree with your #6. You can see your color grades in fusion by transforming the graded clip into a "Compound clip", then transform the Compound-clip into a "Fusion-clip. Nevertheless, your tutorial is Great! Keep it up 👍
Hi there Billy! your videos helped me a lot about learning Resolve. specially this Fusion which is kinda alien for me. I'm a beginner by the way. But can I ask you a question on how Fusion can control paragraph alignment on texts?
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a 3d animator and work a lot with multi-layer openEXR renders from the 3d software. It is always so slow working in fusion compared to nuke with large file size inputs like this. Even when I get it comped in fusion, I go to edit and it is too slow for playback and responsive editing. I try the render in place feature but it times out. I like the idea of using fusion, I just can't get it to work in my workflow. Any tips?
thanx for all your tutorials, I've seen quite a few and learned a lot. But I have a question: when using fusion, the audio and video often lose sync. or am I the only one?
6:25 Actually MediaIn and MediaOUT points towards Track1 and Track2, meaning, you can save the transition with those nodes. That way you just make new fusion comp delete everything and import transition and everything works. No need to rejoin anything. If that's your workflow.
Oh heck yeah man! Its a super deep tool so I still need to learn more about it before I can teach about it. Give me a few weeks and ill have a video about it!
Now that davinci respöve 17 is here.. that made want to jump into professional editing software.. but damn this is complecated at first.. will take few months (coz busy) to learn this stuff.. will first learn the free version in and out and then will purchase the full version.. Coming from filmora X which is super easy.. but it has it limits very fast.. Would love to see more full videos edited with davinci.. like music vdeso.. special effects
For number 8, do they have markers in fusion? Rather than just using the play head, then switching back to Fusion to edit, then moving to the edit tab, moving the play head again, then moving back to Fusion for each section you want to work with, it might be better to just set up markers for each in edit, then work with those.
Hi I'm a complete newby here and was just looking to add some basic effects, like small animation on top of someone talking. Do you have a video about that?
Hi! Thank you for all these great tutorials for DaVinci!! I feel like it’s a really under resourced area. I have a question about fusion comps, can you start from scratch and change the length of a fusion Comp? Also can you change the dimensions?
Seriously, how did you get to the page and find the template? I can save it, but have no idea how to retrieve it. All of the top of the screen (and the bottom) are cut out of the video, so there are no reference points.
i make the title animation and syn the audio its not working may be coz of different clip length? .can we stretch the audio clip length without losing its quality my video is 5 and audio i wana fix down is of 4 you can say.
Hey Cool Billy, quick question. What's the quickest way to find out the timecode of a new Fusion template from a 3rd party. That way you know how long to stretch your Fusion Composition track. Because we all know if you create the Fusion Composition track to short. Your Fusion Template will not play all the way threw. I hope that makes sense, to anyone who might be able to answer.
How do we grad first on the color page and then pull our graded images into fusion for compositing? Do you have a favorite workflow for this? Thanks in advance!
Billy, great video. Q: is there a simple way to minimize or “dumb down” the overall effect of a fusion adjustment clip? I have some adjustment clips in my power bins from Messiah that sometimes are a bit much.
Thanks ! Man i have been looking for "high quality" button like for ages :) becouse its speed up little bit this very very slow graphic engine, i wish they could make something like EEVEE from bledner, its working in real time , and here in fusion even simplest particles works like bledner in cycles. Cheers!
Hey man! I dont have a lesson yet about masking and tracking, I will be working on that stuff in the future though :) I havent been at youtube for long so im still trying to build an archive :D
Hi, I don't know if you have a video about this but everytime I add a fusion comp it copies the text from the previous comp in the edit time line without me doing anything, please help????!
bro thank you so much, the last tip was extremely helpful, but unfortunately it doesn't work...it says I don't have the permission to save files there. Please help me out, this tip can save me soooo much time in the future.
I have a question, in the edit tab you can adjust Pitch and Yaw to any footage, how do I do this in fusion? I can do it to text but can't seem to find a way to do it to footage.
Two things. Optimised Media doesn't work in fusion. It always tries to use the original footage because that's standard for vfx work loads. If you have a clip that you want to be easier to handle you have to render it out at your desired resolution and codec. Then reimport into davinci and use that. The regular merge node only combines 2 things, not 4. The other connections are for mask and output to the next mode. Great video though. Keep it up.
Really? I took a course that said it did. Maybe it was wrong, thanks for that. Well I was saying for the regular merge node that it can handle 4 nodes, Since the mask is considered a node and the media in and out are also considered nodes. So all i was saying is that it can handle 4 node connections whether its from masks or outputs, still 4 nodes uk? Thanks man :) I appreciate it! I really hope to see you around in the comments, I need someone like you to keep me in line haha :D
Switching from adobe, been everywhere trying to figure out why I can't see my color grade in fusion. I guess because it's not possible. At least I can quit looking now. Thanks :) great info!
I dont know if its possible to make it into 1 video, but my biggest problem with fusion is i dont know all the tools. There are trackers, renderers etc. Etc. that i don't really know what i can and cannot do in fusion

Thank you.. Love your enthusiasm
Great video, thanks for making it.
Just subscribed today and watched a few videos love it
Great tips, thanks. Hope they add the sound fix to fusion asap too
Glad you enjoyed! I know right!! That's literally the one things that's missing from fusion tbh!
