The second I saw Larnell for the first time , I new this guys had something different in his playing , he's a master and a seriously musical drummer !!
YES! At last..!!! Dude, my man. You get it!!! That's exactly that feeling when you are SO deep, the groove is playing itself, and you can stop playing because it becomes everything and you have to give it its due and you KNOW everyone can hear it and knows along with you. fucking choice man. choice.
simply one of the best drummers ever... not just because of his chops, but because he is also so damn beneficial for the song and the story telling of it. Fuck those 50 best drummer of all time lists -> here you have a man from the top 5
@@Oxfordcolour There are literally dozens of drummers as good or better than Lewis, dont be a prisoner of the moment. He is absolutely a great drummer though.
@@funkslave9425 Sorry, i wasnt saying that Lewis was the best, i wanted to know what other drummers u were refering to so i could check them out. Nate Smith is one of my favourites.
There is something about larnells playing that seperates him form the rest of the gospel chop masters, he is more refined more sensible almost I don't know how to put it but he stands out for some reason absoulty brilliant playing
Talk about a musical drummer!!!!! He plays drums like a musician where as a lot of summers with chops play like they are athletes in a race or being chased or chasing someone
My high school drumline instructor marched DCI and would always be goofing around on a snare drum during our downtime at band practice. Sometimes he would do this sort of ghost note stuff at full stick height and just leave 10th grade me dumbfounded 😂
I know that I’m 7 years late but do you happen to remember who played the first solo that day? I see Chris McQueen on guitar and no other guitarists present so I can’t help but wonder if he was the one that took the solo since usually Lanzetti/Lettieri take this solo
Hi, Krunse. Proper information? That wasn't "Ghost Note" Larnell was playing with. It was and IS Snarky Puppy!!!! Where you pulled out Ghost Note's name is beyond me. Michael League (the bassist) is the LEAD composer for SNARKY PUPPY. And he doesn't do shows (that I know of) with Ghost Note.
definetely one of the best drummers we have on our planet today...
Undoubtedly 💥!!!
But can he play bleed tho?
@@Johnny-tw5pr im pretty sure he’d be able to play it. Single foot.
Yas
of all time
He took the saying “less is more”to another level 😂 Brilliant!
Took air drumming to the next level.
😂
Larnell is my favorite Snarky drummer. Totally out of control !
Also totally in control
It’s funny because when he plays the least, the crowd applauses the most.
I noticed that but that is really impressive that he can play that quickly that lightly. try it sometime its weirdly hard
It sounds the best.
Jacob Collier said once: “Less is only more if you know what more is”. Larnell knows 😄
I noticed we were missing the obligatory "It's about the notes you don't play" joke. I couldn't think of one though, so this is just a reminder.
@@johnsausage wow that’s so good. Makes perfect sense
My favorite thing about Larnells playing is his work on the toms. The energy is crazy when he starts hitting those
Larnell is a beast, but that bass player needs some love too 😮💨
At least equally good as drummer
He's the band leader.
That's the Snarky Puppy band leader:)
Oh yeah, I know him well. Thanks for the notice though ☝️🏾
Actually it's Justin Stanton on the synth too!
The second I saw Larnell for the first time , I new this guys had something different in his playing , he's a master and a seriously musical drummer !!
I Love Larnell. Such a great spirit of joy and sharing there.
The showmanship alongside the musicality man👏👏Larnell is definitely the best performer I’ve ever seen
I have never seen a drummer do that. Monster
This man is an absolute percussion monster! He is the most musical drummer in generations. Brillant!
Stupid, over the top comment. He is a great drummer though.
at some point lewis moves so fast he phases through the drumset without making a sound

My favorite drummer by a wide margin. So talented and so energetic. Great combo!
I couldn't stop laughing😂. Great showmanship 👏

To me he doesn't sound like gimmicky gospel chops guy. He sounds like he's carrying the torch of the great drummers of the past generation.
That's because he's not just a gospel drummer, he's a trained jazz drummer, and basically plays all styles as well as other instruments.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 a man, a show, a legend
Larnell is my favorite person to occupy the drummers chair with Snarky Puppy. Totally out of control !
He is just so creative and so tasteful in his playing
Irreal, just mindblowing
Simplesmente FANTÁSTICO👋👋👋👋

Why am I just seeing this?
I've seen so many vids of Larnell playing this tune yet this is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing drummer I love it 💞💞💖❤️
Ah yes, my favorite octopus
This was AWESOME!!!!!!
Good when you have a synth player you can rely on through such a solo!
thats a brilliant way to build tension
This is a talented man
Wow amazing
This is sick !! 🤯
So good!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy is a beast
This is what I think I sound like when I'm air drumming. 😅
The only thing better than the solo was the way everyone synced up at the end and came back in right on the money.
and the crazy thing is that difficulty wise that was the least difficult thing.. but still somehow the coolest.. even cooler than that solo
My high school drumline instructor marched DCI and would always be goofing around on a snare drum during our downtime at band practice. Sometimes he would do this sort of ghost note stuff at full stick height and just leave 10th grade me dumbfounded 😂
keeping time with the high hat might be the most ridiculous thing i’ve ever seen
Awesome!
Beast Mode!!!
The boss 🎶👍
My head is blown 7 Years late
Toronto's Finest!!!
Wow! If he sticks with it he could be a pretty good drummer some day!

The true ghost notes haha
That was crazy 🤪
Larnellbot 10.1.5

Omg did he even hit the drums in that last bit 😂
Now I know why UFOs are starting to visit this planet. He is THE ONE!

Dude, calm down. It's just a mistake. Don't take it personally.
I have played trap my whole life drum solos are the lamest thing since the washboard which omg i have had to play washboard solos
WTF is that stand-up percussionist even contributing?
Crikey, that wasn't just fire, that was a California firestorm wildfire that took out 50, 000 acres! 🔥🥵🧯👨🚒🚒
