Diamond is the rank where you have to learn to leave your teammates to die. The goal is to never take the -48rp loss. I've had trouble with this and committed to a fight where I knew better. These people may not have the same game sense as you and so you need to adapt. If they push a dumb fight or hot drop around multiple teams then just leave. It's not your responsibility to 1v3 every fight. Take it as bad RNG on behalf of the matchmaking system. You will eventually get a decent team and start to climb. Also try not to be so passive when you break someone's shield. Kills are really important and are worth the risk sometimes.

I wish they introduce a derank system for next split otherwise most of us that are hard stuck due to our randoms can actually climb. I hate seeing -48 due to my teammates feeling so safe at the bottom of their respective tier smh
I would say this season's diamond 4s are just platinum 0.5 because the placement RP is just so high that all the plats can just kill 1 squad and rat for the rest of the game with guaranteed RP gain.
i managed to climb to master by literally just thinking of every other team as real life predators. if someone starts to engage you shoot towards them and try to make it seem like your team is stronger than it is, and then you just grab some campers at the endgame
Best thing to do honestly. Instead of just running around like a chicken with no head, if you're good enough you beam them back so they back off. Ofc not always, but if I engage someone and they just turn around 180 degrees and beam me for 150 I'd be shitting my pants ngl.
@@_atsukii45 it's honestly the mind game more than the actual fighting, if i find a kraber you bet your ass i'm picking it up, not because i can aim, but because anyone who hears a kraber will be scared to peek
That is great advice, honestly. Something that I have not heard a lot of people talk about is that when you bail out of a fight, people seem to think of you as the weakest team and will hunt you down. I do this repeatedly in master lobbies when I see a team bailing. I'll just hunt them down even though I have not cracked them or shot at them or whatever, but when they keep running they are not confident and aren't likely to stand their ground and fight. So a very good tip you could give to someone is to never just run away when you are the one being targeted. That would work if you have an ash or a valk and your team is close together. But apart from those situations, always try to stand and fight by holding a building. Never completely run away in a cluster fight because all teams will completely ignore each other and all start shooting at the ones running.
Early kills definitely help rank up diamond. Don't ever camp because when it's time fight, it will throw you off and you will lose KP while wasting lots of time.
I hate how after Master, the next rank (Predator) is seen as a better version of master and is more respected, but in reality, it is just a rank for masters who have a 3 stack and a ton of time (I have neither). It's a shame how once you get to master there is no realistically achievable next rank to work towards.
@@Taznar I think they could add a rank after master which is achievable (doesn't require you to grind 24/7) but is around as sweaty as pred lobbies, this could be a rank for the top masters to separate themselves from the bad masters.
@@victory7999 I don't think there are bad masters. But I do agree with a new rank. This season has had the biggest influx of players hitting the higher ranks with diamond now being top 20% and master being top 5% (used to be top 6% and top 2%) After I hit 10.000 RP I simply stopped playing ranked. The only reason I would continue playing would be to practice high ranked to get better or to troll streamers. I feel like this season has been the easiest to get high ranks because of the general balance and the new point system. So having a rank to grind for past masters seems to be a good way to separate the professionals (preds) from the really good players (masters)

50% of this game is mental to me, 100000% need that confidence in every fight. Lmfao. Gotta believe y’all win every fight, otherwise… like you said, you’ll get a mental block and think everyone is gon ez kill you. 25% gun game 25% positioning. Y’all got this! Lol
Just got to plat this season i played in the start of season 11, so i'm practically new, i'll try hitting diamond with your advice. its getting harder cause of the -36 and I'm playing solo queue, its kinda hard when I get two random that is duo queueing and just ignore you, they leave you or doesnt share anything to you. practically I'm playing on my own at that point. and they blame me if there something goes wrong. worst of it all i play in the singapore servers.
Bro I feel this as a solo queue player, matching with duo stacks that just try to 2v3 every gun fight and they don’t even consider the fact they have a third teammate and have their discord or console party chat comms so you get no call outs from them either :/
I started playing Crypto towards the end of my climb in Plat 1 because the - 36RP or whatever RP every time we'd fucking die on drop nowhere near each other was too soul crushing. If you play Crypto and one of your teammates kills someone while the drone is out you'll get credit for an assist. Usually-- unless EVERYONE in your squad is braindead, someone is going to get a kill. Even if you're an instant-death, first squad eliminated drop. If you survive the first engagement: Nice! Just stick with your team, don't camp in the drone while your team is trying to push, it's not that bad. If you died, well. Hopefully you got 1 kill and 1 assist, and that'll soften the blow a little. All in all though, would much rather just play with a pre-made group because the same reason you'd pick Crypto solo-Qing is the same reason you wouldn't want to pick him while Solo-Qing. He's kinda shit without teamwork.
i soloed to master pretty quickly and i think the best way to do it is to work on your mechanics and how you traverse the map. you can win fights all the way up to like d2 with mostly aim and movement. if you're on PC; download an aim trainer (i recommend KovaaK or Oblivity), mess with your sensitivity and find what works for you (use good players for reference then mess with it from there). use the firing range and practice hot dropping and using different guns in pubs. eventually your aim will improve. learn what guns work best for you. learn how to properly handle 1v1s and 1vX's. when you need to heal. how to play cover. how to use your abilities to help you. learn when you need to back off a fight. know when to play your life. (unfortunately) bait teammates a bit or use them as damage sponges IF you are mechanically competent enough to validate it. sometimes you have to use them to remove pressure from yourself since they can't be consistently relied on. different story if queued with others or if your teammates are chill. like ottr said, in plat+ lobbies land on the outskirts of a town and guarantee yourself some sort of loot, get the kills with your mechanics you've been working on, and then avoid hotspots. if you want to/have to fight make sure its a solid 3rd party or a very isolated fight. take fights based on your skill level. dont try to w key into an ego fight if you havent seen how your teammates perform or you know the other team has a fair chance at beating you. use the edge of ring in mid-late game to make sure your back is clear as you move around the map. watch how the other teams are moving using sound queues and guesses based on the ring, then avoid those areas. pick a building or area that seems good based on whats going on to set up for late game. poke if you are in a central position or you think other teams are aware of you so you can ward them off. hide if they are unaware, but keep note of whats going on around you. learn the timings of when to push. bam, you got master.

Thanks for this. I'm pretty new and just started ranked this season. I got to Platinum after about 10 hours. Now I'm running into the "gatekeepers" you speak of. It's like they have these arbitrary "rules" written into their gameplay and expect you to change everything you know about FPS to play their game. They will run fully from the team at the first hint of enemy danger, and push hard as ever at the first sign of enemy weakness and act like they are an IGL carrying the team regardless of the scenario. It's really annoying at the least. I don't want to have to shed my team awareness, because that's something you have to trust in more competitive settings like faceit servers. If I pay too much attention to my team though, they always get me killed, or worse, I tilt and make bad decisions myself. What a shitshow.
what do i do if i dont have a pred team to grind with 24/7 and get 40k points in a split but want to grind even after getting masters? do i just grind arenas or is it worth playing master lobbies even though i know i will never have enough time to hold pred with this 40k cap
set an rp goal for yourself and see if you can reach it by the end of the split, it's fun (if you like the grind) and rewarding when you hit your personal milestones. My goal this split was to hit and stay at 15k rp, and I very nearly hit 20k. All about personal goals and keeping a positive mindset even when you get 10k rp stuck coinflippers :)
I didn't play much this season but when I was a Plat 4 after the reset the lobby was full of Diamond, Masters, and Preds. They sure like to come out in the middle of the night.

It’s so hard to rank up without actual tm8s cause I never know with solo queue tm8s when there decent I usually place highly and get good amount of kills but sometimes they just ditch u and leave u in a 1v3
I started playing on season 7. highest rank i got was plat 2. the next season i got D4. then i got masters all the way to season 12. at first i just treat ranked like it was pubs, then i learned it was not the best strat so i changed it to looking for early KP, when i get full KP. we just rotate and only fight gatekeepers or if we have to defend or take a spot and play for the win.
How to climb = corner crawl circle, easy platinum, relatively easy diamond. How to improve = Use bronze - gold as TDM lobby where you drop hot permanentyl and take almost every fight. Once you hit platinum using this method, you can chill out a bit and take sensible fights. The problem bad players have if they hide is that they hide until plat, then realize they can't progress, but they also can't fight plat players because they have no experience/gunskill. So they need to get that element out fo the way when they're against worse players.
People see this vid and do the opposite to annoy people “it’s just a playstyle” no one gets on a game to get loot for 20 minutes just to not fight and die
funny thing is I breezed throgh everything solo queue until plat only to change the way I play that same week and breezed through again only to be stuck in plat 1 as of right now. I went from 100 rp away from diamond to 600 away from diamond in one sitting lol
I have been hard stuck diamond for a while, not to say I never make mistakes but the teammates I get solo queuing hard throw more often than not. I could probably hit masters if I sweat my balls off every single game and shot-called every single play, but it hardly feels worth the effort to more than likely get stuck in diamond 1 again.
for me i can rank up till diamond just by pure mechanical skill and aim just by playing solo, once u get to diamond everything is harder cause people is more skilled and u have to start playing the game properly. The perfect way to play it is to have a early fight and try and get atleast 2 kill points, either assisting or pure kills, most of the time what we do is that everybody should hit the last standing enemy so everybody atleast gets 1 multiplier thats when playing with a fullstack. Then we just play for loot and the 3th party factor, in my squad im the entryfragger so most of the time i get downed, but its normal my only goal is to down their player first and get damage on the second one with a positive trade, then my team8 can follow up with their ults like a gibi or by taking advantage of their positioning and nading them. I would say its pretty important for the best player in the team to build a revive in case somebody in the team gets killed so u can respawn them too. Then if u have already 2-4 kills u just need to play passive and dont let other teams get closer to you while keep ur sustain alive. Your team comps should be Gibi if u are not a god like skill squad, it offers everything u need. a valk and a ash or wraith that can help u with pushes or fast rotations. most of the time i play ash and gibi, the 3th one is a flex but its best to have a loba or a valk so u have unlimited sustain and bullets or u have 0 worries about rotations. The late game is just the rule of 3, if u feel u are in a bad position u should hide and try and be the last team to fight, if u are in a strong position u should then try and shoot everybody u can and dry them from shields to force them to make a play cause they can't sustain for long. The key in the endgame is to never get downed if u get downed u are done for, something most people dont understand. If ur team8 die early lets say u got contested or u get 3th partied or a 3thparty ended bad u should just hide at all cost and rat till the end so u dont lose alot of points cause most of the time u are going to win 20-40 points u aint lasting till the top3 most of the time.
i dont get how youre supposed to win games if in platinum+ ranks theres always 5-7 teams in the last circle, it just makes it less fun to play, its like when I watch pro games, its the most boring shit ever just watching people wait until chaos ensues for 5 seconds and its really completely random who wins Id also like to add that I think solo queueing is not an option in platinum, soloing never results with coherent teamwork
Fr bro. I soloq'd to diamond in 3 accounts this split. And I can't get to master cause I'm not patient enough to die to pro teams every other game and keep playing

this season getting masters isn’t a flex when over 200k players across platforms are masters i played with a guy that had a 0.60 kd today… ranked is a joke rn
Thats not completely true and also, its still a really tough grind. People are saying that getting diamond or masters this season was way easier and not an achievement because there has been a massive influx of players hitting the higher ranks. I mean, sure, diamond went from top 6% in season 8 to top 20% in season 12. This means quadruple the amount of people are getting to the hard stuck tier. The same happened to master where it used to be top 2% and now it's top 5%. So by your logic, when more people hit higher ranks, the less special it is that you got there? NO I hit masters this first split and the second split of season 11. And when I do agree that it felt easier this time than last time, that has more to do with me being better at the game and less with how "easy" it is in general to hit the higher ranks. And another thing you don't take into account is the fact that the general skill has not gone down. When you watch preds and masters from season 7 and compare them to the games now, the skill has undeniably gone up. More people getting to higher tiers does not mean that the higher tiers are easier because all of these new players are also skilled and at your level. Because the player base has gone up IN GENERAL. Not only the top 3 ranks. Also the 0.60 kd player you mentioned is a rare occasion. yes its POSSIBLE to get to masters with only a few kills but that does not mean its plausible. It takes roughly 4x - 6x the amount of time to rat you way up than to improve first and then start grinding.

Ugh, Valkyries stealing her from me in selection screen, then rushing alone, dying. Broke my headset once. What degenerate fools.
I hit masters for the first time this season, not the best since its alot easier then before. But it still a grind, and proud that I stuck with it
Ngl...I play this game since it came out, I climb to Diamond with 0 effort, feels like pubs to me but IN Diamond, I already feel defeated before the round even starts. It´s such a mind bender, because I think that every enemy I come across, is better than me. That´s why I never made it to Masters.
So true, motivated and felt fun till i hit d3. Switched to pub games, just improving aim and stuff.
50% of this game is mental to me, 100000% need that confidence in every fight. Lmfao. Gotta believe y’all win every fight, otherwise… like you said, you’ll get a mental block and think everyone is gon ez kill you. 25% gun game 25% positioning. Y’all got this! Lol
definitely gonna study the hell out of the platinum section, been getting to plat for seasons but can never get past it
Just got to plat this season i played in the start of season 11, so i'm practically new, i'll try hitting diamond with your advice. its getting harder cause of the -36 and I'm playing solo queue, its kinda hard when I get two random that is duo queueing and just ignore you, they leave you or doesnt share anything to you. practically I'm playing on my own at that point. and they blame me if there something goes wrong. worst of it all i play in the singapore servers.
Bro I feel this as a solo queue player, matching with duo stacks that just try to 2v3 every gun fight and they don’t even consider the fact they have a third teammate and have their discord or console party chat comms so you get no call outs from them either :/
Ever heard of that guy went from bronze to masters in 75 games with only 3 kills?!? That's some next level rat
any source?
@@nnnnoe132 Reddit lmao it was a crypto
I started playing Crypto towards the end of my climb in Plat 1 because the - 36RP or whatever RP every time we'd fucking die on drop nowhere near each other was too soul crushing. If you play Crypto and one of your teammates kills someone while the drone is out you'll get credit for an assist. Usually-- unless EVERYONE in your squad is braindead, someone is going to get a kill. Even if you're an instant-death, first squad eliminated drop. If you survive the first engagement:
Nice!

I’m solo queueing half the time and the other half with another premade for a duo climb. I hit plat 4 for the first time this split. very proud, since i don’t even have a solid 1 kd.
0.71kd, started playing season 10 (end) and i got plat 4 last split (after all the days) and this seaosn i hit plat 4 easily, but omfg i can’t leave, max was plat 3 5800 and now im at 5460 again :/

There is in fact now a penalty for bronze games
When I was soloing through diamond most of my teammates would scan beacon and sit in circle the entire game, get no kp, and then lose in 2nd place
what do i do if i dont have a pred team to grind with 24/7 and get 40k points in a split but want to grind even after getting masters? do i just grind arenas or is it worth playing master lobbies even though i know i will never have enough time to hold pred with this 40k cap
set an rp goal for yourself and see if you can reach it by the end of the split, it's fun (if you like the grind) and rewarding when you hit your personal milestones.
They sure like to come out in the middle of the night.
this guy only uses his own content for background, what a chad
2 months ago i was diamond 1st time i tried rank up. This season... plat 4 - gold 1 - plat 4 - gold 1 - ... mostly solo. Masters and preds in plat 4 lobbys. Well done, respawn. Great job. 😠
Hey thanks you make great content you an amazing and smart player you are really nice my mom texted you about the hoodies and you replied back I was so excited and you sounded and are an amazing person keep on going and I hope you get far have a great day
I remember thank you for the compliments :)
Ya
I solo Q’d to masters for the first time this season. It was hell but worth it next grind is maybe pred 🔥 I love your vids man you’re consistent and cracked.
How many kills to max out your kp?
Ottr can you please tell me why I got 3rd party's more in gold then plat
Could you make a video that foucs on getting out to masters to pred ?
What was that noise at 6:45????
does this game have footstep sound ?
I have the pathfinder heirloom and a set of shards, not sure what I want yet
Does this work on mobile apex ?
i always thought that im a hardstuck diamond, but this first split i got to d3 while not having that much time to play, next split imma go for masters, i just need a team
Goodluck dude.
yea its the easiest ranked season rn
I got one do lets hope this works
I usually try to land near 1 team, get the early kp then play passive aggressive while rotating wide as ottr said. In diamond you dont really run into sweats as much as you run into people that get scared and run when a full team pushes. Mind you i play pc with a gt 1030, so i cap out around 80 fps and cant even play 1080p😔
What was that aim at 0:43? I watch many of your videos on yt and fb and I always see this happen. Auto aim to the player?
I've been playing for basically two seasons and I'm hard stuck plat 4 I did push to get here but still tough to get out
Ottr do you offer any coaching / vod reviews? If so I’ll join the discord!
like in bronze people can just create alternate accounts and farm there or some people farming with with 250 wins
Can u make it on apex mobile 📱📲
Yo otter did I just win a trios game with you on kings canyon? I’m the loba. Love your content and channel dude
I tried everything you said and I’m still hard stuck bronze 4 🥴
I'm hard stuck paper bag 5
@@Cabral978 Hard stuck wet towel 6 but I'll try grinding to paper bag 5 next split
Thanks for the super informative video bro! Im a new player (bronze almost silver) im coming from halo 5 where I was a top50 ranked player and thought id do good in apex.. NOPE lol. It feels like everyone is somehow so much better than me even in bronze lobbies so i hope your tips will help me out :)
I know it’s the easiest season to do it but I solo to masters on ps4 this season looking forward to getting better against master/pred levels I’ve already 1v2 a few pred teams
Can u do it with a duo cuz that's what I got
Yes.
It’s so hard to rank up without actual tm8s cause I never know with solo queue tm8s when there decent I usually place highly and get good amount of kills but sometimes they just ditch u and leave u in a 1v3
I started playing on season 7. highest rank i got was plat 2. the next season i got D4. then i got masters all the way to season 12. at first i just treat ranked like it was pubs, then i learned it was not the best strat so i changed it to looking for early KP, when i get full KP. we just rotate and only fight gatekeepers or if we have to defend or take a spot and play for the win.
sounds really unfun like playing only for rank
6:45 wtf was that noise
im surprised there wasn't an earthquake when gibby landed 2:33
I went from 3 average kills in gold to around 5 in platinum, I loose a lot of fights because of my aim as well.
how do i get out of predator help plz im hardstuck
How to climb = corner crawl circle, easy platinum, relatively easy diamond.
How to improve = Use bronze - gold as TDM lobby where you drop hot permanentyl and take almost every fight. Once you hit platinum using this method, you can chill out a bit and take sensible fights.
The problem bad players have if they hide is that they hide until plat, then realize they can't progress, but they also can't fight plat players because they have no experience/gunskill. So they need to get that element out fo the way when they're against worse players.
After losing so much rp in solo queue from D2 to D4 back to D2 down to D3 this my final season for this game. It's to dam frustrating😒
Meanwhile me, the same but with plat : finally reached plat 3, my new max, and then proceeds to : plat 4-3-4-3-4-3
Bro, same, yesterday i was 5800, and yesterday i kept thinking ‘let’s get that point back’ and today i wake up 5300, what a great day to be alive
If ur team8 die early lets say u got contested or u get 3th partied or a 3thparty ended bad u should just hide at all cost and rat till the end so u dont lose alot of points cause most of the time u are going to win 20-40 points u aint lasting till the top3 most of the time.
i dont get how youre supposed to win games if in platinum+ ranks theres always 5-7 teams in the last circle, it just makes it less fun to play, its like when I watch pro games, its the most boring shit ever just watching people wait until chaos ensues for 5 seconds and its really completely random who wins
Id also like to add that I think solo queueing is not an option in platinum, soloing never results with coherent teamwork
I solo qued through platinum completely on my own within a day. Its actually really easy compared to masters, it feels more like easy pub games.
great pad at 3:25
Step 1: master the jumpmaster
Step 2: all hail break loose
I can't wait for the season to be hard again I got diamond too easy..
Fr bro. I soloq'd to diamond in 3 accounts this split. And I can't get to master cause I'm not patient enough to die to pro teams every other game and keep playing
I need a new team I have got pred every season and I main valk on ranked
Context: I'm playing the equivalent of Apex legends mobile but with the normal pc version, my monitor lives glitched, and I have a total of 6 to 7 inches of gameplay, with the rest of the edges black, with average fps of 24, my connection is the wifi provided by my phone, connected to 4G, so the best case my ping is between 100-200 ms...
I just got out of my hardtuck on gold for the first time and got to platinum...how the fuck is gold harder than platinum? I can consistently earn points on platinum, which on gold seems like a living hell to me...? Up until now I thought getting to diamond in my game conditions was a pretty strong challenge, but I just found out that the challenge was escaping the gold psykers.
PS: I must thank the guides of the channel, they have really helped me to some extent to improve my game, especially the aiming guide has been very useful, thank you very much.
PS2: If someone reads this comment and also has a game configuration in subhuman conditions, I would appreciate a reply, I would like to know that I am not alone.

I like this, I think you explained everything great. Bronze does suck but if you don't give up you can get it of it in about a couple hrs. Silver is fun it almost feels like pubs and gold well I haven't played enough ranked and had 2 deaths in my family last month so I haven't been playing to much but was silver 1 so there were gold player, point being you could tell the difference just the way they aproched a fight.

Let me sum it up for you. Rat at all times. The people complaining about rats have never watched Pro gameplay.
There are 12 squads in the final 2 circles because all they do is wait to third party. Anyone who complains about Rat players, and exclaims they'll never make predator is a liar, and is huffing mass amounts of Copium.

Lmfaooo he ain’t lying when there’s only three teams left lol don’t be the first to fight lol
So to break it down.
From Bronze to Gold :play aggressively.
From Gold to Diamond : play mildly aggressively but pick your battles.
From Diamond +: play aggressively early and then positioning for late game.
I climbed by relying on nobody and as soon as I see that they're not just ratting I give them a chance
Some players are scared in master pred lobbies...

this season getting masters isn’t a flex when over 200k players across platforms are masters i played with a guy that had a 0.60 kd today… ranked is a joke rn
NO
I hit masters this first split and the second split of season 11.
@@PhenonIV masters is the second highest rank at most 3% of the player base should be in it. they need to make a rank between pred and masters it’s the easiest way to deal with people complaining or do a full rank reset
Damn This video got outdated fast.
