  • How to use a CHAIR AGAINST A KNIFE ATTACK
The biggest problem with most self defense systems is that they put you at a huge disadvantage. sometimes preconceived ideas can cost your life and others, can a chair be used for self defense? yes but for how long? also can you actually lift a chair and fight with it? i want you guys to watch this video and see the transparency of our pressure testing and honestly think if you think what it takes to survive in this harsh world

Great idea to brainstorm and practice these things. Actually, if you watch Damian Ross at SDTS, they teach to orient the legs of a chair or stool so that they point at the head and groin , find your opening and jam it straight in. Don’t try to trap them with the chair, strike them with the tips. Rather than thinking “try to keep them away”, instead think “I’m going to strike straight away.”
Yes, like the knife attacker shows near the 4:11 area, he says, “this is the weapon”.

That’s a great idea to turn the chair 45°. The head and solar plexus would be better though. It’s good to keep the chair high so they don’t reach over it to cut you. The face and the groin aren’t usually both open in the same thrust unless the chair has very wide legs.

I'm not surprised by these results pretty much as you would expect... real knife is very deadly

Sifu Javier has the right thought. More aggression... And one thing I don't see.... Where is the kicks?
If this is real life I'm using everyone of my tools to survive.
Before someone misunderstands. Real life is unexpected and I might not have a chance to even get up from the chair. All I'm saying is if I am able to stand and have a chair to defend myself I will be using everything I got to stay alive. I also understand that you not going yo hurt your classmate.
Great video to make people think.

It might work, but remember there are major arteries in your legs.

Use the chair to keep distance, block vision/distract and run or kick.

Exactly, a chair can work, but only as a tool used to create an opening. Don't stay in there.

If the attacker have knife on his right hand, you must defend with the chair in a way that, the back supporting part must be is in our LHS. So that if we push the attacker against a wall there will be a less chance of getting cut.

in most cases the guy with the knife will win but I'm sure using the chair can be effective but once your wrist, arms get sliced open by the knife i bet your gonna drop that chair at some point during the fight
