You are a strong person. There is no way I am doing both jobs. Medicine aide and certified nursing assistant I am just doing one job and one pay. You don’t want to overwork yourself and you be so tired of the job you end up hating it. That why I love home care. Working one on one only. Less stress . Go for your RN.
Thank you for posting your story because you told my story I wouldn’t have mind it working in the field actually I’m currently still in the field across over becauseI was getting caregiver burnout as a CNA but you are exactly right you cannot do your job because of the drama because of the coworkers and being a bit older I find it very exhausting to have to deal with childish behaviors of coworkers who come to work and overstep their boundaries and their behavior is allowed to continue and you’re right we’re just trying to provide for ourselves and our families and some people get a big head in those positions and feel like they’re above you it’s sad because it could be a very good career.
The bullying and gossiping! Like rly say it to my face, and it’s 10x worse if your young/attractive working with older ladies. I much prefer to work with men but unfortunately it’s always women
Where I work night shift CMT don't have medication to pass until 5a and 6a and its only a few residents ,so you will be working as a floor tech until its time to pass out the meds.
I can’t believe they have you doing all these jobs... Med Techs usually just give meds , it sounds exhausting... hang in there because it seems to me that your very caring and do a hell of a job... great job
@ashleyjones3487 is it true and have you heard that medication aides are going to be authorized to administer insulin? I'm sure there is a class we're more than likely going to have to take. I've heard it through several medication aides and nurses.
Some places have med techs doing too much.Your main focus should be on passing your meds correctly.Than when you are done passing your meds and charting, ordering meds, doing blood sugars, taking vitals etc.You may have time to assist with getting people to the bathroom or change their briefs and get them up and dressed.
You seem to be a very beautiful person--inside and out. I was touched by your comment about thinking of your patients as your grandparents. My thoughts exactly. As I contemplate this job as a litmus test for becoming a nurse, it seems to me the only way to endure the unpleasantness of dealing with their poop is to imagine my parents when they get to this age. Thank you for your video. It helped me to consider this path more seriously.
I can't wait to have this type of job new experience for me coming soon straight taking med tech I never had this experience before but I no I,would be great
Yes they had you working as a cna and med tec. Which isn’t right I’m a cna and your doing everything I do on top of the meds too. I bet you were exhausted.
That's crazy because in my state you don't have to be a CNA to become a med tech. You can just get your med tech certification here in South Carolina. You can't do things you wasn't properly trained for that's out of your scope of practice. I guess in those states that require you to be a CNA before becoming a med tech you are required to also do CNA duties.
Where I work. The med techs on night shift don’t do anything until it’s time To pass meds, they literally just hang around the care station, Sleep, or be on their phones. In Some cases if the floor is short, they may be appointed supervisor on the shift, have to answer the call off phone, answer any concerns from staff. Most med techs here do not do care unless it’s absolutely necessary
Im a dietary aide where i work and med tech that doesn't pass medication pass trays and do cna jobs, at night theres usually just one medication or none at all cuz the lpns does it aswell, i think the lpns do the medication at night
I’m a CNAI and I’m interested in becoming an Med Tech. I just switched from home healthcare to assisted living. Love your eyebrows. Enjoyed the video!!♉️♉️👸🏾👸🏾💫🦋💫🦋💯☮️☮️😇😇
Cna make more if you work in hospitals, but my mom get paid more as a cna in assisted living because she has 4 years of experience, cna usually get paid 12/hr and cma get paid $13-15/hr but my mom get paid at $18/hr, shes a cma once but quit for some reason

Yes you are right! The older women get jealous of the younger

Thank you ! and unfortunately I had resigned due to school !
I do the same
good afternoon ma'am how are you. thanks for your story. but I thought it's only passing medications.
@@theresecharles2674 some places are different
It sounds like assistant living. I worked one day and that was enough for me its too much!
As a medication aide in Ohio we are not to be a CMA and a STNA simultaneously, per Ohio board of nursing.
That’s what I love about Ohio!

Too much work God's blessings to you. I'm glad I retired 30yrs SNF. YOU are in my prayers 🙏❤💛💕💓♥🙏❤

Hello

You are very welcome ! Are you working in a long term care facility?
Thank You !
The Next Nurse not yet. I have decided to take can classes soon. I thank you for such a sincere and affirming talk. :)))
You are very welcome!
You're gonna make a good nurse. Very professional and you are sincere. You are definitely a leader. I wish you the best!
Thank you for this i'm doing my training in a few weeks and was very nervous
Great video! I'm suprised you had all of those extra cna duties as a medtech...props!
❤️
You do a lot girl . I'm a Cna and med tech as well. What state are you in
You right girl I know the environment I am a cna n co workers suck sometime leaving all the work for your shift
In Colorado you have to be a CNA for a certain amount of time before you qualify to take a MedTech class. Its considered an add-on to your CNA license
Thank God for Florida! Lol , we do not have those requirements
In my state you can just take your med tech
Do a Med tech work also as a CNA as welln
I just became a medtech without CNA thankfully
Same in New Jersey, have to be a CNA, I'm starting my MT class July 17th I'm excited to take a step up towards nursing
So fuckin sad why we all just can't get along...
You either pass meds or do patient care otherwise you'll be frustrated 🙃
I can't wait to have this type of job new experience for me coming soon straight taking med tech I never had this experience before but I no I,would be great

where I am from, a med tech is a medical technologist. I was confused at first.
LOL I am so sorry ! Medication Technician :)
Ikr medication tech has a confusing title, so CMA is also a medical assistant
Usually when you are hired as a med tech you shouldn be taking a post as a cna
How long to be a med tech or med aide

I’m considering doing this
What’s medication aide pay compared to lpn??
Where I am, Florida, it was about a 10 dollar difference.
Where I work. The med techs on night shift don’t do anything until it’s time

ESBEAUTII we have assignments just like the CNAs and we have 1 get up
ESBEAUTII hater 😂

You got a good job!
@@apdroidgeek1737 Don’t hate ! It only takes knowing how to read to pass medication
It’s a shame they had you doing all that. You were only supposed to do Med Tech job
Med techs get paid crap. Im only doing it to supplement my cna job
I’m a CNAI and I’m interested in becoming an Med Tech. I just switched from home healthcare to assisted living. Love your eyebrows. Enjoyed the video!!♉️♉️👸🏾👸🏾💫🦋💫🦋💯☮️☮️😇😇
reaaalyy ! Did you not enjoy homecare? I love home care !
Yes I did, but, when someone passes they couldn’t find an assignment quickly and I make more money in an Nursing home.♉️♉️👸🏾👸🏾💫🦋💫🦋💯☮️☮️😇😇
What's the difference between cna and med tech pay wise ? Who pays more ? And people can do both
Well , its about a dollar difference - like you would have to be both in assisted living facilities .
Great Video thank you
Well it depends I made more as a Cna in a nursing home then as a med tech in assisting living
Med aide (tech) pays a few dollars more per hour
Cna make more if you work in hospitals, but my mom get paid more as a cna in assisted living because she has 4 years of experience, cna usually get paid 12/hr and cma get paid $13-15/hr but my mom get paid at $18/hr, shes a cma once but quit for some reason
What book do you use?
Nurses are SO gossipy!!!
Did you take the state exam for med tech ?
Yes
do you live in california?
No I do Not lol
I didn’t know a CMT work also as a CNA as welln
Hi
Does a med tech have to change clients? I hope not .
Heck yeah you do
