    Hi Pia,
    Fur Baby + Plant Babies = 💖Overload & I'm all for it!
    Oh my heart, those dragonfly clips are adorable! Maybe you could do a post about how to get rid of soil mites? I wonder if some of the plants are not growing as full, tall & as fast as they could might have something to do with the type of soil they are potted in? I know different soils contain differnent minerals (the same goes for types of natural spring water) & that can effect the quality of plant life. I hope this helps Sending plant love 🪴

    You speak so calmly and clearly and your plants are so diverse. I like that a lot and it motivates me to buy new plants. You're a personable newcomer to the houseplant world, which is commendable. Nice collection of plants.

    I will give you a suggestion for your Pilea Peperomioides that works great for mine, dry out banana leaves (preferably in the sun) for a few days and grind them up in a small blender till it's all powdery and cpl times a month sprinkle some on the Pilea dirt B4 watering 🌱

    Love your video and collection.... HINT..... I always microwave all my soils to kill any critters that might be in the bag at least 5 minutes, stir and cook for 3 minutes more then cool completely before adding to or repotting plants even if the bag says sterilized soil.

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      I’ve thought about this, but realized that cooking the soil could also destroy the beneficial bacteria/nutrients? Is that true? What do you use to supplement for nutrients?

    Hey about your pilea pep, I understand how you feel cuz I felt that way about mine too lol. But what helped for me was actually giving it less light. When I had it under grow lights, the leaves were always curly. I put it right against my north east window, and now the leaves are way less curly. Very finicky plant so there's still some curly leaves, but definitely less than before! Hope this helps

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      It’s always “more light” or “less light” for this plant! 😩 But your comment gives me hope. Thanks! I will put it in a different spot and see what happens.

    Love this video ❤️ just in case, I think your peperomioides wants less light. The baby leaves look healthy because they're getting shaded light! Mine did that and I couldn't get it. She was right up against a West facing window and curing up so much. She flattened out when I moved her away. ❤️

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад +1

      That’s interesting. Maybe I’ll put it in the trash bin??? 😂 Jokes aside, I will definitely try to find a new spot for it and see what happens. Thanks!

    Plumeria is like....the MOST finicky plant (out of 300) that I have. It's literally never happy in the winter. It simply survives until it can go outside

    Your Rhaphidophora hayi looks like it might have veinal chlorosis. It may be a nutrient deficiency like iron. I’m not sure just a guess and maybe worth researching? Love your plant collection! Great tour. 🙂

    Hi Ron! What a great video with SO many beautiful plants and tons of helpful information for a plant newbie like me!! So I have a question: I noticed when you started talking about your cool handmade trellis and your Ficus Tineke, you mentioned how it likes the worm castings. I’ve got some worm castings and wondered about adding some to my plants but I wasn’t sure if I should add them before spring. So it’s still good for them during the winter? Do you just add them to the top of the soil just as you’re about to water?

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      Ooo! I suggest you add the worm castings in early spring when your plants can make better use of the nutrients during the growing season. Usually I sprinkle some on the top soil and lightly mix it in before I water.

    • @kristinperdue6392
      @kristinperdue6392 2 года назад

      @@SuchPlants I’m so glad you pointed that out! I’ll hold off until spring when they’ll really benefit from those nutrients! My plants and I thank you! :)

    • @SuchPlants

      Thanks haha! It’s a double helix piercing; one earring is an open hoop and the other is a stud but they are all fastened with balls on the ends if that makes sense lol they’re from Amazon

    I may just not mention that you got stolen plant cuttings from Hawai’i- that’s plant poaching and especially from island …. It’s not a great look .

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      It’s all good. The airlines will inspect any plant and cuttings before boarding. As long as it’s free of soil, you are good to bring the plant with you. There may or may not be a list of species that they look for, but at least with store bought plants, it should be good.

  • @mariiaborysenko4653

      I got it 8 months ago and it was not a trailing plant yet. I had it on the upper IKEA shelf closer to the grow light but I moved it to the lower black shelf recently because the leaves were becoming a bit pale. It’s also getting watered with liquidirt!

    I’m very curious what’s the medium in your propagation box?

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      It’s just typical indoor potting soil. I don’t think I added anything else in there. It stays moist but not soggy.

    I truly enjoyed your video. I have a spider plant that is having a hard time with the tips turning brown, any ideas as to how to care for it? You're dog is so cute. Thanks for sharing.

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      Thanks Margie! Brown tips is usually a sign of low humidity and underwatering. But it’s weird because mine sits below the AC/heater vent. I water mine when the curls feel limp and not as firm. It also gets pretty good bright indirect light with a couple hours of direct sun.

  • @rikkeluveplants4530

    The pilia gets too much light, that is why the leafs are curley

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад +1

      It curled under lower light, now it’s curling under too much light… so I moved it to under my big monstera deliciosa leaf so hopefully that spot is just right.

    I am half=way through the video (and I will continue watching until the end). I love your collection and seeing all of your plants (both thriving and those facing challenges). You have a great way of talking, giving each plant just the right amount of information and close-up time, without overdoing it. But.can I say, that abrupt horror-moving sound effect is unnecessary and annoying. I am sorry, as I realise I am the only one who feels that way. But, thank you for this video. I am really enjoying your plant collection!
