- Now that "365 Days of Plants" is officially finished, we're still sheltering in (at least here in New York), and the ever present construction in my house has seized (for the time being), I felt it was the best time to do a Houseplant Home Tour update-Spring 2020-style.
What's nice is that you'll get to see a lot of the "365 Days of Plants" that I featured "in the wild"-in my home. Though I don't cover every plant, I do call out around 150 or so of my 1,100+ houseplants that I live with.
Typically I'd separate room-by-room in my tours, but I felt as if this would be nice as a long video. Please enjoy the 65 minute tour!

Exactly what I be thinking when I watch her. I have a garden and few indoor plants and it’s still rough. And having plants is like being surrounded with so many different personalities.
Wait.. People have watering routines? That might explain why I have so much more trouble keeping my plants alive, no methodology to it, I just do it by eye/by feel..

The part with the homage to Kippee and stories of her made me cry... and also made me realize how long I've been following you. Whoa! I'm sure Kippee misses you, too! She would always relive those memories of going with you on your plantscapades.
This is the most joyous plant tour I have ever seen. Summer just makes everything seem so effortless . There’s no plant “ snobbery “ if you know what I mean. Just the most planty heavenly space I could ever imagine. .

Beautiful tour! I love to see all the personal touches - the bird feeders, the fireplace bulbs, the metal chickens, the photos of Kippee, the tea garden, the artwork and the pretty pots. It was so nice to see the footage of Kippee sleeping on her perch. I miss seeing her in your videos. She was such gorgeous lady.
Ah Paula, I miss her too. She made such an impact on my life in such a short period of time. I miss her spirit.
Posted an hour ago... it is 8 am for me. The first time I am early for a plant video, its the holy grail of videos (a tour!) all my plants look alive and lush today.

Hi Summer. My name is Becky Ryan. I live on Singer Island, Fl. Many years ago, while living in Middletown, NY, I had lots of plants. However, after moving down here full town in 2005, I did not have ANY plants in my house. Tried plants outside, but, living on the ocean, nothing ever grew outside because of the salt and sea. However, after 14 years, decided to GREEN up my house because of a couple of things. One, going to visit a botanist who is 98 and walking around his property, replete with plants and also living in Florida, I decided to plant some cuttings he gave me. Then I came upon Homestead Brooklyn and watching your "plant one a day." I know this is a long entry, but I am now up to about 300 plants in my house. I'm totally amazed at my progress and the progress of my plants. Lots of succulents and various others. I'll buy anything that is different.I LOVE observing the light as it moves in my house. I've learned so much. I'd love to take you on my tour. Lots of thanks for encouraging a follower to start my own plant journey. My best. Becky Brown-Ryan

Its funny how I started to like gardening and plants recently and how interesting it gets everyday, never knew it would grab so much of my attention. And how much interesting it is to watch videos like this. Plants make you feel so much at peace. Really loving this routine and the lifestyle 👍🏻

I have been discovering a list of houseplant RUclipsrs for quite sometimes and there are always reasons to go back to you, Summer. There is a beautiful spirit that makes your house is always alluring even though it's not a super luxury apartment. Your mission in sustainability is organically practical and you showed it. Now I know this urban jungle is a definitive luxury for its inhabitant and knowing that you have been there for at least 15 years is the work of mother earth. As Indonesian, I knew a lot of native plant species from my country by watching your channel. I can't thank you enough. Terima Kasih (Thank You). I wish I could visit the Homestead Brooklyn someday. Please don't get rid of this house if you move to the country. Make it as a laboratory for our children.

Mourning Doves are _lovely_ . We have them out here in Southern California, and I never get tired of hearing their little purring 'coo's in the late summer and early autumn's.

42:14 I have a hoya like that, and I used to keep it in a southish facing window. It bloomed all the time, but the bright light really bleached the leaves, until it had more or less lost its dark, veiny leaves in favour of super light leaves. So I moved it a few feet away from the window and now it's starting to look like yours again, but it hasn't bloomed even once. I don't know if the stress of the sun made it bloom so much, but since I like the leaves more than the flowers I'm not too sad.
I love how you flow with your home and plants and also i love that you don't edit every minute like many RUclipsrs and i love that you find things , odds and ends to put your plants on.. You are very sensitive which is beautiful.. Ok i have a question how in the world do you remember ALL those plant names? Its amazing. You are so beautiful and calming. Wow ....awesome...me too I have a bird stand to provide food n water..... earlier 2 sparrows use to visit n now more than 30 . N two crows n dove n some pegions. It's great to watch them specially on the lockdown days.

I was so amazed at how many plants you have and how you have them styled in the space you have, you for sure have your own tropical jungle. I have gotten so much great advice and plant tips from watching your channel. I love that you have bits and pieces and memories of Kippy, what a wonderful amazing sweet bird she was and I really enjoyed watching the videos that had her in them. The groe lifhts and all that make the plants happy which makes my cozy space.
Ive watched it grow, i remember when you could walk around that apartment. That is a crazy place, it has its own little biosphere. I think you are going to need a bigger boat. Im going to do a video soon, only just started popping through, doesn't feel as sterile anymore. Building docking for my oscillator's today and a little fence for bird control. I rescued a frog and baby the other day, I put them in a pot with water and was playing with them. I went in the kitchen and came back and the baby was gone a bird must of got him, devastated. I left the big frog in a safe place. The next day, I was watering and he/she came hopping over to me. So I picked it up and I could feel its tiny heart beat. It didn't want to leave me, wouldn't jump from my hands just snuggled in. My uncle has a bird garden, its incredible, they come wash under his waterfall and pond. Meditate in the garden if you want to be among them, I love them had a pet robin who would come hopping into my room every evening when I was reading. My little baby that bird.

Good lord child, I thought I was bad with my 26 plants in my small-ish room. How do you have time to water everything, not to mention maintain them?
