Hi, I must say (Let you know, really), that I really enjoy your videos, one because I love guitars, and two, because of your style, so keep it up. I can’t wait to see that Les Paul finished! Cheers from Mexico.
I'm glad you're still going, Chris. I absolutely love your videos. And this footage of France is gorgeous; I for one would love to see more of your French travel if you're inclined to post it in a later video.
Thanks Matt. We are shooting a record of our trip. It could make it to air if we think it’s worthy. Currently it’s me driving and being dissatisfied with properties we can’t show on screen. We more a little north tomorrow and hopefully will find something a bit more fitting. The last bunch of places were vast and very remote. Reality is biting and we are looking for places near or in towns. Still vast and with workshops though.
@@chrisreynoldsguitarmaking sounds fantastic. I'm an American who spent a month in Europe decades ago and have been unable to return; these unaffected, unsentimental but still obviously gorgeous images really grab at me. Looking forward to it and to further guitar making adventures!
I feel your pain with the nitro finishing. Years ago I put an SG in for headstock repair and didn't get it back for 4 months. A change in the weather, snow in fact, ruined the 1st attempt and it had to be stripped again and the process repeated. Enjoy your property hunt en France. 👍🏻
Hi Rob. Yeah it’s a pain. Touched it after two days and went straight through to the primer like it was butter. The clear gloss went like smoked glass. All sorted now but it’s a pain. C
@Guitar Making with Chris Reynolds Thank you. Fantastic!!! The last one you set up for me is still the best guitar setup I have ever had. I play it everyday because it sounds and plays so beautifully. I'll message you. Cheers!
@@chrisreynoldsguitarmaking I am only jealous of being in France. I am definitely not jealous of having to conduct a house hunt in France (or anywhere else). Best of luck!
If you were moving to Portugal, I'd love to be your real estate agent! Well, at least you're getting closer. The chance of me playing one of your guitars has increased from 0.05% to 0.1% 😄 Good luck on finding the perfect home. Cheers!
Hi again Chris, good luck with the move. My parents moved from the UK to a place near Bellac in France about 8 years ago, granted they moved before Brexit so I imagine they had an easier time. The best thing about a property over there is you can get much more for your money than in the UK, many properties will have multiple buildings perfect for workshop potential! All the best, Chris R
Hi Chris R. We were going to go to Bella today. You really know this area. What you described about out buildings is the draw for me. That and the wine, the cheese, the culture the surroundings, the weather and the fact it isn’t run by egotistical old Etonian turds. We shall see. I just find myself very weary of living in a protofascist state. I live in hope.
@@chrisreynoldsguitarmaking Small world! I do know the area and know some great people there. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like an introduction to anyone. My parents have a lovely place and have all the experience of having to re-do a house from the ground up. Similarly, they have friends have done the same and also have two workshops with a full woodworking set-up
Not sure where you are at moment Chris, but Lidl have nice little 16 pc clamp sets in a case on sale at moment for small money and a really good quality 4ft adjustable aluminium job also.. 👍👍👍👍
Looks like a beautiful area if where you are is where you are home shopping. I'm afraid I'm not up to date on the current quality of life in the UK, I hope you able to find something more suitable in France. Don't stress over the channel, you may be going somewhere but we aren't. Good luck to you and yours in this endeavor.
Thanks Bill. After the disaster of Brexit that left me speechless with rage I got unwell with the stress of it. Fortunately Covid came along and destroyed what was left. Add to that a basically criminal government of racists and thieves and I’m done. I need to go. We are around Montmorillon but leave tomorrow. I hope we find something soon but it may not happen at all. Who knows? Not I said he with a mighty dread. C
If only it were that easy. We are on the cusp of losing the property we want and the market is stuck. It’s possible that this will fall through this month. I’m losing hope to be honest.

Thanks Rodrigo. It could happen it may not but we are looking hard for a new home. It’s a huge change but it’s overdue.
Good luck with your search for the perfect home & shop in France!
Thanks Cole. It’s exhausting and as a new driver very tense. But we are having fun so far. Lots more to view yet. I’ll try and keep you guys posted. C
@@chrisreynoldsguitarmaking I found there is a lot more wild overtaking in France, something to watch out for
Hi there - good luck with your projects !
France is very, very nice - especially the Dordogne area.
Looking forward to the next steps !
We are looking in central France as you get more for your buck. But it’s proving difficult. Overpriced and so variable.
Looks like a beautiful town. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your new home.
It’s a great place but a bit dead. We’re moving north. C thanks for your support
Best of luck Chris ! Wish you all the best
Thanks David.

Bonne chance Chris ! See you on the channel when you’ve crossed back over the channel. Looks great where you are in France .
Thanks Lew. We just have to keep going and looking. We will be back for a spell at least and I’ll finish the Les Paul Junior. That’s a promise.
No probs Chris 👍
Hope the house hunting goes well
Thanks Ally I’ll let you know what happens. It’s a real wrench but you know when it’s over I think. C
Nice one 👍
Just the one? Seriously, thanks my friend always good to hear from Jah. C

Thanks Pedro. You live in a fantastic country. If I sell any guitars I’ll let you know.
Nice to hear an update, good luck if you do move! I was thinking to learn how to spray nitro but here in Malaysia it just seems to be too humid.
I had a few good days In December. Since then it’s been so variable. Snow wind ice rain and then back to snow. Crazy weather.

Well done you. What I wouldn't give to escape this god forsaken shithole (lower case "g" intentional). Best of luck in your endeavours Chris.
I’m thinking of doing some kind of residential guitar making breaks in France. You could come over for a spell and escape , albeit temporarily. C
Actually, I am very sad that you might take up residence outside the UK. We will be looking forward to a continuation.
I wish I was Ted. I’m done with the UK for now. It’s a huge wrench but I can’t take it anymore. Gonna miss my family but it’s literally killing me. C
Good luck!!! UK a loony bin going bankrupt but fear not we will all have greater math skills!
