Refika such a culturally rich country!! Well there is nothing to feel weird about...some.cultures are 10 000 years old and some things today do not make sens to us but they are part of the heritage and history. When we know our history we improve our future.❤

In my opinion, this is possibly the best episode since you opened this channel. That place is like a museum. I know almost each and every item you showed in this video and more, but we as a country either stopped making these utensils/ tools/ cookware, or their production is limited to just few cities. The number of artisans making such utensils and cookware fell significantly, and unfortunately they couldn't pass their skills to the next generations. Many of the things you showed in this video will be obsolete or they will be hidden in the kitchens of villages and towns in Anatolia. I don't know if there is any (official) museum in Turkey about culinary history of Anatolia and Anatolian cookware. If there isn't any, it will be wonderful to take an initiative to build such a museum. I am very positive that you can get government support and donations/help from the private sector and the citizens for such an initiative. It is just an idea, but it will be a great effort to preserve Anatolian culinary culture, and good way for you and your team to leave behind a legacy.

All old civilizations have these big old pots, utensils, gadgets. But then houses were huge, kitchens were the size in which a whole apartment can fit, families were large too. Now these pots r unpractical in city apartments. But it's real nice to see them.

I really appreciate this episode. As one of the other people commented the place you took us to today is magical. Humanities history is so important and should be preserved and cherished. I hope those seeds you spoke about are kept protected from the corporate seeds as we know if they get crossed the corporation will say they own the genetic offspring. We need the men and woman need to take back the stewardship of the planet - protect those seeds

Refika, as always, you and your team have transported me. I live in the USA but I "feel" your love for your culture. I raise sheep. In my humble opinion, the best tasting lamb I have ever had. I raise them organically and very humanely. But although I raise this delicious lamb, I am only okay at preparing it. I had a foreign exchange student living with me from Turkey and he would make it magical. My whole family misses him greatly, not only since he is warm and kind and just a beautiful person but darn the guy could cook. Could you share more lamb recipes. Thank you.

My grandparent's neighbours were bulgarian Turks and were still eating on "sofra" back around 1985. Their children were living next to them and were eating on a regular table
I used to perceive some of my grandma's equipment (like sofra that was stored in the basement and the wooden dough bowl that she used) as too old and oudated to be used
Now I'm so sorry that we didn't take them when we sold the house. We only took her ceyiz sandik
