Does Katherine needs a special permit to visit Kashgar Prefecture since she has a U.S. passport? I have a China tourist visa, but I am not sure whether I can go everywhere in China.
No, I have traveled to xinjiang 3 times without any special permission but you do need it for certain border regions like tashkurgan. It’s not specific to US passport , chinese ppl need a permit too
@@kats_journey_east Thank you. I may follow your steps to Xinjiang and Kashgar. I know Tibet needs some special permit for U.S. passport.
If you want to see Tibetan regions without the hassle , try Gannan in Gansu , Diqing in Yunnan, or Ganzi/Aba in Sichuan. I’ve been to all 4, they were amazing

Is it common for love romance relationships between different ethnic groups in Kashgar University, for example, a Han boy and a Uyghur girl, a Uyghur boy and a Tajiks girl?
i went to xinjiang before covid. it was not what I expected. i was pleasantly surprised. love from canada.
Xianjiang is a beautiful place. Each time I watched places in China, am amazed firstly how modern it is - infrastructure, building and people seem to be very we'll fed!
But jealous westerners are trying to destroy it.
The Western governments and media are constantly accusing China of genocide. Most westerners actually believe.
Katherine can speak some Uyghur now and i am still struggling with mandarin. As a Chinese, i am just going to dig a hole and hide in shame 😅

Before COVID, the universities used to be completely open. I remember always going to 南京航空航天大学 to eat in their cafeteria. However, because of COVID and the numerous protests on university campuses (especially the White Paper movement), universities completely closed down to outsiders. It's a shame, because the food was really tasty and cheap😂
as I heard, Most of the universities are now open to the public again, so you can go and eat in cafeteria.

My Dad was in the Royal Air Force so one of my 'canoodling caves' was a derelict air-raid shelter. Years later I found that my sister and her frineds used to follow me and spy on me. Good job I was too shy and inexperienced at that time! Nice to see more of Xinjiang.

Just an insight to the Chinese mindset. It's important to put your education first and at the same time work on yourself to find out what you want in life. When you are emotionally and mentally not ready to handle relationships, you end up accepting things that are unacceptable such as toxic partners or not putting your happiness first.

Wow. It is so modern and the Turkish influence is quite evident. The only thing we hear about Uyghur's in North America is that China is persecuting them. They are living in Kashgar so much better than many in San Francisco!
Is it not called Plov if it has been made with meat (lamb)? It is incredibly rich, as the animal fat is used to cook everything. But I believe it is only meant to be eaten occasionally.

Did you play chess at your senior prom night with your teacher? or did I missed something, luckily I enjoyed a night of year 10 graduation dance, accompanied by gorgeous,vivacious hellenic girl when we all stepped out onto dance floor when she sauntered over and partnered with me for the whole evening, I looked around and I thought I saw her father staring with dagger eyes😠😂😂, the lesson being Ladies appreciate trim down physique guys, I had occasional come hither smiles and good customer experience from random, not unattractive😂women since walking the quarter Roman march without 25 kgs haul
not gonna lie I got so sick of lamb by the end of this trip LOL but I do love the food in Xinjiang in general just like, go easy on the lamb and maybe put more vegetables?? and that's my prom "date" not my teacher 😭 but I did play chess with teachers often as well, I carried that folding chess board all over the place, haha.
