Thank you for letting the community know that on this journey it is so important to keep our crown clean and moisturized. Love your crown and it will love you back.
when my hair was way short i only used cold water now i wash with hot water or warm water first bc it cleans better than cold water but cold water locs it back up
This EXACTLY how I did my freeform. At the time I had just finished school and I honestly got so tired of combing my hair everyday. So I would just wake up and wear a hat the whole day without combing it. When I needed to go out the house, I would wash my hair and separate my hair because wearing that hat all day long kinda compressed and joint my hair. So separating them by hand or fingers, basically was the start, cause I started noticing little twists at the scalp and I loved it. So I decided I would keep my hair separated like that and just grow it out. Fast forward my afro looking like I used a brush to do my dreads and then I started twisting it with the fingers just like you said. Basically all over my head and some locs just did that on their own and it grew and grew. At some point it looked messy cause my locs were pointy and not laying like i want then too but i just let them grow and I knew they would grow lonher and eventually start falling because of the weight. I just haven’t separate them at the root yet. (They’re pretty much the same length as yours) only difference is I still have to separate them at the root so that each loc is separated and individually free starting from the root/scalp. I need some tips on that second part of the journey.
exactly how I started mines bro, now I wash my shi and after the wash all my roots do be locking back up together, so I gotta separate my roots! never had a re twist but you would think I did cause my roots aren’t too conjoined
thank u! started mines w a sponge last night n i love how they look imma drop the sponge cus u said so 🤣 wash it like u said too cus yea my hair be loving that water
Thank you for saying this my hair naturally starts locking up after a few days of not picking and I was scared about if I could wash my hair or not I didn’t want to walk around with a dirty ass head
subbed and like the vid your shit raw asl quick question i hear the 2 strand thing alot did u 2 strand them before they actually locked(like 2 weeks 1 month etc) or after they started to loc? And how does the 2 strand help does it decrease shrinkage helping the hair look longer or what?
Two strand does help with shrinkage because it stretches the hair but my hair was in the locking process when I two strand twisted them they were no where near locked
Just started Freeform’s today. I want them to cover my face cuz i think it looks nice and girls in my high school recommend that to me. Im using the towel method, how often should i use the towel again and wash my hair?
I wash them every few(2) weeks because that’s how I washed them before I had locs but it mostly depends on race if you are black then you wash less often if not, then more often, basically wash them as often and you would if you didn’t have them, and I just shake my head to un-matt them
Depends on hair texture, the front took longer to lock up but mostly just washing and time- if it’s that serious tho you can always use a crochet needle
I just started my freeforms a week ago and im scared to wash them cuz they might become an afro again 😭 what should i do (i also use the brush and sponge method cuz its easier for the look since i have alot of hair-)
When I started I just washed it the same way I did when when I had and Afro but after I washed it and it untangled a lil bit I just twisted back to the way it was before I washed it after
When you first starting and you got that Afro and been twisting and you wash… is it gon unravel? What u supposed to do if they unravel just retwist em?
Sometimes it will, just twist it back or whatever back to the way it was before you washed it, after a few times of doing this after washing they should stay in
I got a question so I got starter locs I’m trying to get dreads it’s been like like 5 months and I get retwist every 2 months and I only wash it when I retwist how often should I wash my hair?
I’m 5 months in and I’ve been using a brush/twisting/braiding them should I only twist them ? Most of my hair is already in sections or already starting to lock
I would just recommend not using a bristle brush because it strips you hair but if you are getting your desired look then keep keep doing what you’re doing and remember to wash

warm water is fine also as long as you oil it after that shower, leaves your hair soft and your scalp soft (from experience)
your dreads* but generally your hair wtv u have
when my hair was way short i only used cold water now i wash with hot water or warm water first bc it cleans better than cold water but cold water locs it back up
Ayy bro you had my dying at the end😂😂 W video💯

i got freeforms to and hen i first started people use to say dont wash your hair your, but i learned that when you wash your hair it locs up faster to
I don’t know why they preach being nasty

Im glad i found dis video i thought u wasn’t supposed to wash to often finna deep clean my shi more often

Just started Freeform’s today. I want them to cover my face cuz i think it looks nice and girls in my high school recommend that to me. Im using the towel method, how often should i use the towel again and wash my hair?
I didn’t use that method but I would say don’t do it every single day for a long time because it can cause thinning
I started with coils but seeing this make me wish I would’ve went the freeform route but I’m not trippin my shi still hard lol
I started wit coils too I just did em myself
@@kaysaddity8255 oh Shi mb I didn’t even hear that part put your dreads look more freeform looking like my dreads look traditional asf 😭
Mine were really small/thin and I didn’t go to the root
I LOVE THIXSSSSSSSS
Nahh black construction paper is crazy😭😭
😂
1:24 omm ian even watch the whole video but this fasho true
That is exactly why I started all over again because I over twisted in the front and it caused it to thin so I decided to start all over again
How’s it doing now
Best !
How often do u wash ur freeforms and in the morning when ur hairs matted watchu do to get it unmatted

How often did you wash when starting and did you ever tie em up
So you dont pick your roots?
I low-key want my locs to be like chief keefs
At one point me too
My hair is 1 inch long, should I start doing fingercoils then twists? Or wait till my hair gets even longer.
If it’s long enough to twist then yeah but it depends on how you think it will look
you funny af😅😂
I appreciate it
1:30 is facts, I use to think that not washing will loc it faster
People be tryna play you with advice on this app
How often u suppose to wash cuz I was told u suppose to wash once a month I’m js startin
Everyone hair is different u can deff use the sponge
Just giving suggestions
Fire vid
I appreciate it
Matthew 18:20 JESUS SAID "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." JESUS LOVES YOU
hey i was wondering if i use a twist comb for my freeforms will it be better than a sponge?
I started this week I just posted my five-day update also
u look like ja Morant
bro you look so much like lil nas x its crazy lmaoo
howd u get urs on ur face to loc so good mine got trouble locking more in the front compared to the rest
Depends on hair texture, the front took longer to lock up but mostly just washing and time- if it’s that serious tho you can always use a crochet needle
how did you twist the back. that's been my problem cuz im tryin to get freeforms
The same way I twisted the front
My question is how do you not twist the roots cus when i twist my hair i always begin at the roots so how do i twist without getting the roots?
Just don't touch the root
Like grab a piece of your hair then twist the bottom only
@@meepers6562the bottom????
I just started my freeforms a week ago and im scared to wash them cuz they might become an afro again 😭 what should i do (i also use the brush and sponge method cuz its easier for the look since i have alot of hair-)
Is there a certain time I should wash it like wait a couple of weeks or months or just wash it whenever
When I started I just washed it the same way I did when when I had and Afro but after I washed it and it untangled a lil bit I just twisted back to the way it was before I washed it after
Wait like 2-3 months to wash it gng. Then your hair would be kinda locked up and wouldn’t unravel when you wash it
How many locs do You have young king?
When you first starting and you got that Afro and been twisting and you wash… is it gon unravel? What u supposed to do if they unravel just retwist em?
Sometimes it will, just twist it back or whatever back to the way it was before you washed it, after a few times of doing this after washing they should stay in
When should i take out the 2 strand twists
All I got is a sponge 😭 is you telling me the sponge won’t work
It will. I just didn’t use it
I want a lot of freeforms but I don’t wanna wait to grow out my hair so do yall think I’d still have a good portion of freeforms cuz I gotta full head
i’m a girl n i got a twa rn mines gonna grow in a couple months n imma dye it like urs 😁
Dope ✅
did u kept the 2 strand twist or u took them off after a while?
Only did it once they’ve been out for like nine months
I got a question so I got starter locs I’m trying to get dreads it’s been like like 5 months and I get retwist every 2 months and I only wash it when I retwist how often should I wash my hair?
How's yo journey gng
Yo when u two strand twists it when do you wash it out
So did u ever wet your hair every day
Not washing your hair for a certain period of time let’s certain natural oils seep into the scalp promoting hair growth but yea it promotes locking
Did I say everyday?
Did I say every day? Lol
did you use any product when twisting
Tom Brady balls 😵💫
since i js started i still have to wash r should i wait a month
I’m started mines again a week ago when should I wash em Brodie cause I had to chop my last ones bc they wasn’t healthy
I would say a month max if you can wait that long I would go any longer than that and after your first wash never go even that long again
yo question ur dye is light brown right, cuz im thinking of dying mines too
It’s was actually supposed to be light blonde but I didn’t know what I was doing
wait so you two strand twisted it and it never came out so you left it and they ended up like that?
Yeah, I just left them in a while
Tom Brady's footballs🤣🤣
😂
I got one question when I’m in the shower should I wear a shower cap (on the days besides wash day) or just let the water touch my hair
I always tied mine up, but if it’s too short to yeah I would say put something over it or try not to get I in the water
@@kaysaddity8255 so wear a shower cap for the first 3 months basically then wash it periodically every 2 weeks
@@kaysaddity8255 ok so don’t let ant water touch the hair for the first 3 months basically
I’m scared to get mine yet because they haven’t locked yet
Wetting them make em lock up faster
my hair is weird i have freeforms but i dont have a fro under
Depends on how they started and hair texture, that’s normal for some people
Yo bro what if u got 3c hair and a natural curl
What length should I start at?
Is the two strand twist necessary? Or can I skip over it?
nah you can skip tbh i prolly will
W vid fw it
I appreciate it
Did u pick the roots?
Never
how do you go from normal dreads to freeforms
Started touching them less
I’m 5 months in and I’ve been using a brush/twisting/braiding them should I only twist them ? Most of my hair is already in sections or already starting to lock
I would just recommend not using a bristle brush because it strips you hair but if you are getting your desired look then keep keep doing what you’re doing and remember to wash
@@kaysaddity8255 im 4 months in should i wash or will them come out?
how am i supposed to wash my hair if my hair aint fully locked up so they come out when too much water get into them
Try not to wash rough at first and twist after wash
