Great explanation. Thanks for the video(s), Bino!
Bino. Just want to point out you are a great teacher. I enjoy watching your videos. Always clear and precise. Good job amigo.
Dave the tree guy. From whatcom county Washington state
Thank you!
Great Video! I am new to your channel and so far I cant get enough! Good job Sir.
Thank you!
I like the MRS attachment at lanyard points probable due to old age. I’m having fun putting you instructions to use. I never thought of climbing until I seen you demonstrated a method that fit my age. People like to judge seniors to quickly. Thanks You Bino and Noah.
You're welcome and thank you!
Learning a lot from you. Great video well explain it.....
I'm glad to help. Take care!
Thank you for teaching an old dog a new truck.lol.very much appreciated
Our pleasure!
very helpful. I'm at the stage of needing to find some workarounds for basic DRT and a Blake's to maintain this hobby. Foot ascender/s should be a welcome progression from a prussik and I think some type of tending for the hitch will improve energy demand. Thanks for the info
Great to hear, Take care!
I just started getting into climbing and at first I was convinced I wanted to get into srs but after actually putting it into a working environment I'm starting to realize I actually prefer the old school blakes hitch with a split tail. If I had to shoot straight up through the middle with nothing to put my feet on then I definately see the advantage of srt with ascenders. I even tried the mrs with the hitch climber and prusik but I dont feel stable tending slack from the bottom and the set back takes a lot to get use to. I'm starting to prefer a big beefy blakes ahead of me with little set back and I can shoot my hitch forward and see it after every pull. Feel like I waste more time hunting for my tail with the hitchclimber set up
Plus the initial cost for the blakes with split tail is so much cheaper. 100$ for the rope. 40 or so for a good split tail with spliced eye and a couple rated biners. I feel like ive just wasted a few hundred dollars trying out all these different ropes, prusiks, pulleys and ascenders
Yes I can see how the SRS system and Hitch Climber with a prusik set up would be difficult to get used to. For me the I didn't have the Hitch climber set up but I had a micro pulley and two carabiners and I think my hitch was the Knut I really like reaching above my knot it felt easier than pulling from under my knot. The SRS took some getting used to but after I got used to the foot work now I like it the most. Since you have them take your to get used to them.
Ty for the instruction
You're welcome!
I like your videos there helpful
Thank you
Well RUclips won’t let me like it again so I will leave this comment instead. Thanks again for the vid. 👊🏻🧡🇨🇦
Thank you!!
Sub'ed!👍
Thank you!
Good video!!
Thank you!
That was great Bono. I would like to see exactly what and how you connect to your belt/saddle/harness. I did see two methods in the video but some details could be clearer. Pause-touch-explain I do enjoy your teaching.
Oh my my cell phone change Bino several times sorry.
I'll work on it.
Awesomeness Bino
Thank you!
Thank you Bino
You're welcome!
nice

Welcome
Great videos Bino, I want to use a hitch climber pulley for mrs, but I don't have a spliced rope. I liked your spread anchor points set up on your saddle, where would you anchor a terminal knot biner on a weaver Denali saddle? Also through which Becket of the hitch climber would you attach your prusik?
I made a video on that topic. Here it is. ruclips.net/video/tldB4vgofWA/видео.html
It may help answer you question.
Excellent, video this is what I was looking for. What kind of knee ascender are you using? Is it easy on the rope like the Notch foot ascender? I’m using 1/2 “ high V. Ty Bino. 🇨🇦🇺🇸
I'm using a Haas knee ascender. It has teeth it would chew up regular rope. It's better to have kernmantle rope.
Hey I would include trying to lean forward and standing up straight to center yourself so you aren't wearing your arms out so much holding your weight up. It takes a bit of getting used to but overall reduces upper body fatigue
Thanks for the tip!
Hi Bino nice video, I was wondering what type of harness you're using.
I have a Buckingham master 5.0.
That was excellent, bino are there any other ropes that you would suggest other then drenaline ?
For MRS or SRS?
Bino H I’ve been using true blue for 20 years so a few others would be a great change
Bino H 3 choices for both please
I love my Blake’s hitch but I might switch to this system… I’ll also make sure to start low and slow if I do.
Good luck, Take care!
Great job, Bino. I’m an older climber who has recently transitioned from a Blake to the Hitch Climber setup, with a Notch Jetstep. I’m now considering adding another ascender, but I also switched to the 11.7mm Silver Ivy rope and gripping it is more difficult. So, I’d rather add a hand ascender than a knee one. Been checking out the Kong Futura and wondering how that would work with my MRS system. I can add a foot loop for the Kong. Any thoughts? I have the same Master 5.0 saddle, so your videos have been very helpful. Thanks for posting such good content!
Nice, Myself I like the knee ascender having a hand ascender in the MRS set up is a little difficult use. You might try using latex grip gloves very inexpensive and they work very well. When you have the foot and knee ascender on you are not using your arms for moving upward but just keeping you in an upright position. I love the 5.0 there are so many options. Take care!
@@BinoH Thank you, Bino. I wanted to avoid adding a chest harness or anything like that, and I like using my arms to climb, after so many years on a Blake. The Futura looks like you can leave it on, and just slide it out of the way, or easily stow it, due to it's small size. I ordered it, along with a nice foot loop, so I'll let you know how it works once I figure it out. The 5.0 is great. It's familiar because I had the original. Ken Palmer taught me the Blake back in 1995.
@mattd6086 I would be very aware of the futura engaging with the footloop. I got myself all tied up one playing with it low and slow. I took a step on the futura, it didn’t grab. It collapsed my main system all the way down to my footie. Was real awkward and hard to self rescue. Ended up getting my lanyard on something to shift my weight off the main line.
Instead I went to a footie and knee ascender. I also will climb with a hand ascender in addition to help with gripping the rope. But in general I decided I didn’t not want to weight an ascender above my main system anymore.
@@snipehuntr thanks. I did used this setup several times and it went just fine for me. Since then, I got a HAAS collapsible knee ascender and an RRP. Been trying different combinationations. The Kong is a nice tool to have around.
I have recently seen a group of popular arborists who used srt to climb up the the and once they were an the top they switched to ddrt to do pruning and so on, while swinging to other branches and it seemed like doing redirects.
Any idea why becouse i didnt get why they would do that
I'm not sure why they switched from srt to ddrt. It could be that they like how easy it is to get to the top with srt but like the way it feels to walk around the tree ddrt. Any technique you like most is the best technique for you. I watched the new video Kevin Bingham put out on his new Rope Runner Pro and in the video he foot locked about 60'+ into the tree. Why would he do that when there are ascenders. Maybe he likes to practice it so he won't forget how to do it or he really likes to foot lock. I guess what I'm saying best technique is the one you feel most comfortable using. Take care!
Hello Bino,
Its me again the annoying guy with all of those questions =D
How would you retrieve something out of the very top in canopy of a tree? since you cant climb up that far right?
Like if you would want to retrieve a drone or smth out of the tree.
I know i already posted it but i thought i will write it on your new video so you wont have to go back to your old vids and search my comment =)
Thanks for your answer =)
I guess if there was a drone on branch tips and the climber couldn't go any higher he might use pole equipment to retrieve it.
How do you rig the knee ascender in with the mix?
I connect to my hitch climber pulley or my chesty or my saddle d ring.
Will this work the same way with the foot ascender if you’re using a zigzag?
Yes it will.
Hey Bino what's your opinion on the best way to climb those tough 🌴 with big skrits or beards. I like the set with a foot an knee ascender. Love the videos watch all the time thanks climb safe.
I think if the skirt is huge the best way is from the top down. Ansi has a standard that states if a palm tree has three years of growth or more it shall be removed from the top down. Here is a title of a RUclips video
(Preventing Palm Tree Trimmer Fatalities ) It's a good video on the subject. They show a little on using a false crotch system. I feel SRS is with a knee and foot ascender is good way to go. Thank you, Take care!
@@BinoH thanks brother I'll check it out
Can a hand ascender be utilized as a knee ascender?
Yes, it's like the frog system but in an MRS system the climbing knot might get in the way, or maybe if your foot sling connected to the hand ascender was long enough it may not get in the way.,
Where did you get a spliced drenaline?
I bought it at Bishop Company. bishco.com
Hello Sir, Bino I am from india I need every thing you wear all equipment for this video. So will you tell me which equipment and harnesses you wear. My Enghlish is poor please Sir
I have a Buckingham master 5.0 saddle. 2 auto locking carabiners. 1/2 climbing rope or 11mm climbing rope. Kask climbing helmet. cloth gloves with rubber palms. work boots. There is nothing wrong with your English very well. I hope this helps. Take care.
@@BinoH thanks Sir
