64 is the shortest. Assault only has 10 levels, but many of them are multi-stage (Arwing, Landmaster, on foot, standing on the Arwing doing a "turret" sequence). It's at least twice as long as the FULL game of 64. Adventures is far and away the longest but it's a whole other animal as well.

This mission hits the heart so hard. Peppy's sacrifice was so incredible. In all honesty, I think that would have been the best way for him to go. And just imagine if, at the end--just like at the end of 64--you have to escape the planet as it's exploding, and Peppy's ghost guided you out of the planet one final time. "Never give up, trust your instincts."
The dialogue is adorably cheesy and brings back a lot of fond memories, but "This is your final mission." at the end of the mission briefing sends a genuine shiver down my spine. I will always love this game.

This game is so good I feel like this is the true ending to the Starfox franchise. Let's look at it this way: Andross was already dead for that time, and we never knew if Starwolf and General Pepper really survived the Aparoid invasion which means that the whole Starwolf team and Pepper are actually dead and gave their lives to save the Starfox team and everyone in the galaxy. And with that it concludes but also starts a new beginning for almost the Starfox team. Best conclusion ever

"funny" thing is, in the original Snes release of StarFox, each of the other pilots you lost in the game were dead. They didn't just return to the main ship to repair their broken down ships, they were dead-dead. I wish StarFox Zero carried on as a sequel of this game instead being yet another remake/reboot of StarFox on SNES. Having Krystal on the team and Panther on Star Wolf's team would of been awesome, but no doubt they're both on the discard pile now.
+Made In Heaven Yeah, I like Peppy, but I would have preferred Krystal if not for the Barrel Roll level where you play as Peppy. I like Panther a lot, think Andrew is one of the most annoying villains in video games(almost as annoying as Slippy even) and hate Pigma with a burning passion.
+MLGWolf69 Hating Pigma is the point. That's why I like him so much. And I don't know, I prefer him when he is on Wolf's team. Honestly, I don't like the noble demon type of character they tried to build for Assault. Yes, his voice and design was improved a lot, and he is very awesome, but there was no need to water down Wolf's villainy.
I may or may not be in the minority who actually very much so enjoyed the fact that the game had all 3 segments in the game. Playing in just the Arwing is so boring. StarFox 64 3d died really quick for me really fast. I loved the onfoot segments. And playing multiplayer was the most fun I've had. Teaming up with my bro, hopping on the arm of his arwing and destroying the competition with guns was by far the best. I really hope the next one isn't just vehicles, or I will be extremely disappointed. I'll still get it, but it just won't be as good.
@@Amquacktador It's implied that Star Wofl helped Star Fox for motives beyond just Wolf wanting to be the one that does in Fox, as shown through Panther and Leon's sarcastic reply and scoff respectively after he reveals his supposed motive for saving Fox.
For me it's the second, Star Fox 64 is simple and fun with a easy to understand yet good plot, but Assault has more depth in the Story and more meaningful cutscenes.
Assault did so many things right for the Star Fox fanchise... we can only hope something like it will be remade on the NX, especially with disturbing bosses like the Aparoid Queen and the amazing music... along with having the original 64 voice actors come back to do it. I didn't mind Wolf's voice actor at all, though. I actually prefer SFA's Wolf VA over SF64's VA... however, they sound strongly similar in SFZ.

+THEGALLADEOVERLORD (NOT MY MAIN ACCOUNT) Andross actually gave me nightmares as a kid. Though I have to admit that the Aparoids are arguably better villains.
“Leon! Don’t try sneaking up behind me” “Hehehe, doing your best not to show any weak points, eh?” That’s the second time it’s been hinted that Leon is gay
After the war against the Aparoids... Slippy: I hope we have insurance for the Great Fox. She was a tough cookie girl. Fox: Yeah, I'm gonna miss the Captain's Chair of the Great Fox. Krystal: What matters is we're still alive. Falco: Hope you know some good ship mechanics back on Corneria, Fox. Fox: I might know someone. And we'll possibly getting our Great Fox mk 2, we'll find a good vacation spot.
It will be a long time and or ALOT of money before that can happen. The original Great Fox required an 80 YEAR LOAN. But James died long before he could pay it all off. So Fox took the helm and only JUST after Adventures could he pay off the rest of the loan along with a complete overhaul of the vessel. It would be like Shepard in Mass Effect getting an SR3 Normandy after Cerberus just built the SR2.

64 is harder than 3ds on 64 as I did two forms of it as 64 version mode andross brain has way more hp and way too much DMG and you must not get hit
*****
I did, playing through it again as we speak
That moment when the great fox tears through that sheild
The Aparoid Queen gave me the willies when I was a kid, and here it is still giving me the willies at 22
Fox: HERE I COME, YOU EVIL SPACE HAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lore of Star Fox: Assault - Mission 10 - Homeworld Core - The Final Battle momentum 100
Oh Mario & Zelda.. Star Fox has an orchestra for the music.
*_THANKS FOR LENDING ME A HAND BACK THERE_*
Brilliant game.
Quq Balam I feel what they did in Assault to Wolf made him feel much more realistic and likeable. In 64, he just felt like a weak James Bond villain.
I'll miss this Great Fox though, such a kickass look, why'd she have to go so quick? :'(
I know. I really how we get another version of this Great Fox with a Similar design.
The fall of Great Fox D:
The Boise Police Department officers are on their missions together as a team to support the Boise Police Department
I'd love to see this remastered on the Switch
I wish platinum could remaster or remake it.
I love the character development of Star Wolf's team in this game...
And then Star Fox Command ruined it
No?
How? Star Wolf in Command is badass.
@@Amquacktador
It's implied that Star Wofl helped Star Fox for motives beyond just Wolf wanting to be the one that does in Fox, as shown through Panther and Leon's sarcastic reply and scoff respectively after he reveals his supposed motive for saving Fox.
Best Star Fox game to date imo.
Alex Reddington high five
Daniel Easyrhino
*high five*
For me it's the second, Star Fox 64 is simple and fun with a easy to understand yet good plot, but Assault has more depth in the Story and more meaningful cutscenes.
64 had more routes and more to do. the missions were better
and th edreaded ground missions runin the game
I miss this game
14:25 you let Falco die!
Where’s the runaway guys when they say STOP SHOOTING FALCO!!
The game where Peppy became a fucking legend
I'm shocked the queen didn't use a memory of Andross on them either.
Dahrinikis would’ve been cool tbh
If Oikenny was infected by the aparoids, she would have probably imitated him
Anyone else noticed the gold bubbles that the queen releases are just like the ones that Andross would release in his final form?
darn it PEPPY AND WOLF'S TEAM! YOU ALMOST GOT ME SCARDED! DONT DO THAT AGAIN!
There's something really Xenosaga about the Queen's room
Assault did so many things right for the Star Fox fanchise... we can only hope something like it will be remade on the NX, especially with disturbing bosses like the Aparoid Queen and the amazing music... along with having the original 64 voice actors come back to do it.
I didn't mind Wolf's voice actor at all, though. I actually prefer SFA's Wolf VA over SF64's VA... however, they sound strongly similar in SFZ.
I too prefer Wolf's VA in this game. I think it's the best of their picks :)
13 years later and this game STILL looks better than 90% of the games that were ever released on the Wii, Wii U and Switch.
Underrated
james : never give up trust your instinct
peppy :never give up trust your instinct
is peppy trying to impersonate james to convince fox that his father is still alive????
9:40 Me:Remember what wolf said
23:01 What's up, Peppy 😎
Man if only the whole game were as awesome as this level was, it'd be remembered much more fondly.
Honestly though, Assault took itself way too seriously. Starfox is best when it's super campy.
Is it bad that I like this battle a lot better than Andross's? I also like SFAs better than SF64.
+THEGALLADEOVERLORD (NOT MY MAIN ACCOUNT) Andross actually gave me nightmares as a kid. Though I have to admit that the Aparoids are arguably better villains.
“Leon! Don’t try sneaking up behind me”
“Hehehe, doing your best not to show any weak points, eh?”
That’s the second time it’s been hinted that Leon is gay
How do I share people's comments?
"Don't hesitate. when the time comes, just act." The one advice that could snap anyone out of being manipulated by your loved ones being impersonated.
And that walking stick, Krystal's staff I hope she kept it with her... Otherwise, it would take miracles and materials to restore.
Peppy survived by DOING A BARREL ROLL!
Peppey's Ship is at the Docking Bay
+Vincent Holmes Peppy's in the big docking bay in the sky. :(
Then the docking bay gets F**king destroyed.
The music in the tunnel is some of the best in a Star Fox game.
SLIPPY SAYING SOMEONE TO SHUT UP? NO WAY I CANT BELIEVE HIM!
Thanks for the videos. I really liked the game and would like the
Nintendo looked again Star Fox series!Someday...
23:47 It is an honour Fox McCloud, You’re father would be proud of you.
I remember being so angry about Peppys death. I flew as best as I humanly could as a teenager.
