@@UndyingNephalim My theory is that Fox and Wolf were once good friends who had a fight about who Fara was most interested in. The two men were obviously both really into her, but it’s possible that Fara didn’t feel like she’d be happy with Wolf. Given Fox’s kind heart and heroism, it would be likely that she chose him. That said, Wolf probably said that he knew Fara better than Fox to get under his skin and get a rise out of him.
@@FurPlayz total wild speculation on my part, but I could see that Wolf actually dated Fara, perhaps for years, and then maybe Fara ended the relationship because it was toxic, and wanted to turn a new leaf and started sticking around the good boy Fox (which would actually make Wolf's statement true, sort of, that he knew her better because he's known her longer and more intimately) but thats just a guess haha
Oooh, what a neat way to incorporate Space Armada into all this as the penultimate level in this arc. SPOILERS: I knew that twist of the knife was coming with Fara and it still stung. Damn. Bravo, excellent work as always
I like to think it sort of has an effect on Fox's and Krystal's relationship down the line, and it kinda gives fuel for a reason as to why Fox would want to keep her out of the line of fire. That was my biggest conundrum in Command. Why is Fox suddenly not jazzed about having his friends fly alongside him, since they were all on the same page in regard to the risks? Well, here's why. He still thinks about Fara. That said, for all we know, he probably tried to word it as best he could, miscommunication ensued, and it snowballed from there.
@@nickthepick8043 No! Command does not need to happen! Fara did not have to die for the sake of plot, especially one that shouldn’t even happen in the first place!
Swear I never get tired of seeing these you are doing the lords work with Star Fox Horizons. Please keep up the amazing work and I mean it. I do hope though Shears gets what’s coming to him. That jerk deserves it
The writing on this game is on another level. Star Fox has evolved past the original pitch of "a game where every level is a Thunderbirds episode" to "a game where each level is like the Battle of Endor" A small fan game understands Star Fox game essence and knows how to evolve it better than big developers like Namco or Platinum Games. How ironic.
@@michaelflores9220 I don't know exactly either lol my comment goes back to an Iwata Asks interview where Miyamoto and series co-creator Dylan Cuthbert reminisced about their early brainstorming meetings, and how it turned out they were both fans of the show, and that shaped how they talked about the game.
Honestly, I was just happy with how good Zero looked. The spaceships, the sound design, the cinematics, everything felt right, in spite of the blatant retread. I'm not sure what Platinum Games would have done if they had total control over the reboot. I'm just happy the Arwing looks so perfect. I needed that starfighter in high-poly.
Man, I applaud you for mixing in what is basically the best mission of star fox zero, with the original N64 story, with obscure characters like shears and fara, and setting up the saurian conflict tease altogether like this. You have an amazing imagination and clearly you're putting effort into this project.
The music and the whole fleet battle it is honestly award worthy this was like watching a full ass movie but i absolutely love the music it just hits right especially when the granby warps in
With this, I'm guessing that the Battle for Sauria mission will have some much different dialogues. Before, Shears was considered as just another crazy power-hungry villain to eliminate to save the day. But now, this will be personal.
Those who were familiar with the "Farewell Falco" manga knew Shears' little twist was coming...but it's the details of said twist that matter. Fox going radio silent afterwards was an interesting touch. He's definitely going to take this hard, and I can see why it could lead him to ask Krystal to stand down from active duty later. Still a bone-headed thing to do on his part, but there's a little context behind the call. The dialog from Wolf and the inclusion of the Granby were nice touches, too. Good to see you're taking some inspiration from Zero, too! And, now that it's not an immediate spoiler...godspeed, Fara. Hail...and farewell. P.S. Did Shears target her ship deliberately because of her earlier backtalk in previous stages?
still doesn't change the fact fox breaking up with Krystal was completely stupid, considering his other teammates. If he was that worried, then just retire, settle down on Sauria for christs sake problem solved neither of them are putting themselves in harm's way.
Responding to the P.S. part: I'd assume so since she got rather snarky with Shears on many occasions when the 2 were within coms range, so I assume he was looking for an excuse to be rid of her right then and there without really thinking about the consequences, I bet he's going to also get in deep trouble with Wolf aswell, maybe after the war if Wolf and his team survived wolf could perhaps personally come over to Fara's funeral?
Honestly Shears was probably in full panic mode that the team showed up out of nowhere and jumped the gun just shooting whatever was closest to his ship. He probably did hate Fara the most out of the team, though.
@@UndyingNephalim I really enjoy where this is going, blending elements of 2, 64, adeventure and a bit of assault into the mix. My only worry is that Fara's death is going to be used to justify the stupid plotline of Command with the whole breakup thing between Fox and Krystal, no offence to you my good fellow. I just hated that given how it doesn't make sense that Krystal specifically would be the one Fox worried about losing, because it implied that the other teammates were not any concern to him despite one being his mentor figure, and the other two being his long-time friends. I said this in another comment further down in the comment section but I was talking with this other guy about the Sauria level you showcased a few months back. I figured if there were any on-foot sections you might try to do it the SF Assault way where Fox utilizes a lot of weapons in addition to vehicles. I found it cathartic to come back to Sauria in Assault and blowing the shit out of everything with a gatling gun. I only say this because your old trailer from many years ago showcases a scene with Krystal revving up a minigun.
You killed off Fara?! I did NOT see that coming! Still, it makes sense in a way; Fox will break up with Krystal because he doesn't want to lose her like her lost Fara.
I mean I kind of did. Fara was a classic love interest for Fox, and having both her and Krystal there can be hard to do without either making story more Shakespearean and personal drama focused like Command (which most hated that part of it), get rid of Krystal (which is no good since they extended word to the original voice actress and she is the more popular character with broader appeal) or find a way to get rid of Fara. I am sure it was done with no malice towards Fara as a character; I don’t hate her, that’s for sure. But compared to Krystal? I do prefer her as a character and love interest to Fox.
Wow. So much happens in relatively short order. I must admit, this is probably the most impressive space battle of them all. Keep it up. Looking forward to the Venom missions.
I just realized something: it's not enough for Colonel Shears alone to betray Pepper; his whole crew has to be backing him up, or else his ship isn't actually going to go where he tells it to go or shoot at what he wants it to shoot at. How did he gets his whole crew to betray Corneria?
With how controversial of a figure Pepper apparently is in this universe, it isn't far fetched to assume he has more than a few soldiers willing to turn coat.
It's good to see Shears given more of a fleshed out story. I saw the comic and Shears was a one note villain that seemed like spoiled potential. But this really makes things interesting. Ballsy move killing off Fara but this can show off Fox's broken psyche. I remember a few sources claiming that Fox was emotionally fragile or something of that nature. I can see how this would sedeway into Krystal coming into the picture. I guess that removing Krystal from the team was Fox's way of making sure she didn't end up like Fara. I'm guessing Krystal takes it personally and joins Wolf which means then Miyu and Fay enter the picture with one of those 2 being Foxes new love interest. Moneys on Miyu but yeah if anyone remebers the old Starfox Nintendo Power comic where Fox goes ballistic and detroys the Dancing Intersector and the Atomic Core. I can only imagine what he's going through after the battle. Having Fox be silent for near the whole level is a nice touch.
@@Trainlover1995 I hope so. I really didn't like Command's story. In fact, I kind of figured Fox and Krystal would be engaged or married, by the time Assault begins.
I'm just gonna say it. I know this mission will have voice overs in the future but so far you feel the tension alone with the story telling and the music.
Your work never ceases to impress me, IceCream! I love that you integrate more storytelling into the gameplay and dialog, which is something that Nintendo has kinda forgotten how to do with SF in recent years. Though, I am a little saddened that Fara got killed off. I was hoping Fara and Krystal would be able to coexist with each other and not constantly berate one another like most of the SF fandom portrays them to act. But then again, I understand completely why you'd make that decision considering love triangles would inevitably form which could make it difficult for you and the fans to choose between one of them to be Fox's love interest.

I mean we never see a civilian leadership for Corneria, just General Pepper in the entire Star Fox series I believe. So yea Corneria has a military government of sorts.
Yeah The big difference is very Lodoss: Pepper wants to make allies in order to get influence in planets (like Aquans) While Andross just wants to overrun everything by force and 'fix it' whether they consent or not
@@timsaylor4390 Well i have a feeling that will happen. Though we have to wait for that mission to come out. Though Fox is likely to show a side none have never seen before. Though all we can do is wait and see.
Seeing how you appropriated the Core boss battle from the original Space Armada level for your Bolse boss fight, I was kind of curious what you were going to do here. Interesting idea to bring Star Wolf in, but they didn't seem to do much besides just show off to the player that both the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams are reduced down to their traditional Star Fox 64 members. I kind of expected to at least see Wolf slip into the shield after Fox blows up the first component to the beams, and become a hazard to have to avoid while inside the shield, but it did seem pretty cramped inside there already. Honestly can't wait until the game's done and I can play it. I've never played FreeSpace before, but I'll certainly get a copy just so I can set this mod up. I've also got to get around to playing Star Fox Zero just to see if there are any elements from that game that you've taken for inspiration, there's a lot here that wasn't in the original Star Fox 64.
Freespace 2 isnt required to play, the game runs on its own. However I do recommend getting Freespace 2 anyway because it's a pretty great game from the time of SF64.
Spoiler ALERT : I feel sad for Fara but LT. Wyvern... This man continued to fight until the last moment and told his men to flee at the last moment to survive, and he died on the spot. I respected.
I've been seeing these star fox event horizon videos in my recommended for a year now. I finally started watching this series and its incredible to see what fans are capable of.
As someone who never even knew Shears before seeing this vid (and in fact only learned of his existence in the series due to comments here), the betrayal shocked me. Same for Fara's death (who, like Shears, I believed was fanmade. XD)
I've been following the development of this masterpiece since before the beta iteration of the Andross battle, speaking of which, I hope you keep the part about "I will fill Lylat with my face and my glory!" in the final version. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing Andross get blown up.
Damn, didn't see Fara's death coming at all. Or Shears turning his back on the Cornerian army this early on, given how there's the Farewell beloved Falco comic that takes place 4 years after the Lylat Wars in the Star Fox timeline. But then again, he has acted rather rude to the team.
The only thing missing imo is the other characters reacting to fara being shot down. Like...they do acknowledge it as the mission goes , but only Fox says something when her ship gets blown. I think you should add some lines in there as well. Doesnt need to be elaborate but to at least show shock...like Peppy: No! Fara! Slippy: Nooo! Falco: Fara! What the hell?! Finally, I think Fara's death was a bit lame, dont get me wrong, it doesn’t ruin anything, but it wasn't a great way to go. Perhaps, you can make it so shears targets Fox instead of Fara, which would make much more sense from Shears' point of view, but because Fara has a different arwing model, she isn’t actually affected by shears engine jamming thingy, and sacrifices herself to prevent the beam from hitting Fox. I think that would be much more fitting. Great job regardless
@@marioisawesome8218 because this is pretty much a cheesy space opera about animals flying spaceships? And besides she doesnt die in a warzone. She dies before the warzone becomes an actual warzone
Honestly a slight change to Slippy's line would work great: "Fox, your...your engines are up..." As what just transpired hits him and he blames himself.
I’ve been thinking about how they can include Fay and Miyu in this story due to being in the trailer and here’s my idea. Miyu is Fara’s half-sister who is coincidentally on Sauria for self-discovery with her girlfriend, Fay, who is revealed to be Shears’ estranged daughter. Both have been aiding Krystal’s fight against the Sharpclaws and will play a key role later on.
Oh, man...! I didn't think he'd fire directly at *her* like that. Unless he was intending to take them out one by one, saving Fox for last. Boy, did Fox make the right call, having Slippy hang back. Although I'm guessing he's going to resent Slippy for a while, for not fixing *her* engines first.
Poor fara, hope the creators reconsider and bring her to life again like Capcom did with Jill in Resident evil 5In addition, Fara could be given as a kind of guide/older sister for Krystal.
This is so fucking cool. I kinda wish I wasn't so curious about every video and experienced the entire campain myself but at the same time man this gave me goosebumps with Fara. I really like your take on this universe. Just like I like your take on the zelda universe.
Shears!! How dare you!? >:'( IceCreamMan, I legit hope you'll bring Shears as a boss, because I'll avenge Fara for what he had done. Poor Fox was devastated. But, is there away to save Fara, or do we have to wait and find out?
Fara's death is hardwired into the plot, it's not really avoidable. You fight Shears in one of the Sauria missions, it was posted about three years back.
@@shreksnow1918 It hits harder for a character to go down unfairly and unwillingly like that on screen than if she were prepared for death or got a soap opera sickness off-screen.

@@Devnul Yes! Not only that, but Fox didn’t turn off his coms until AFTER Wolf proclaimed that he knew Fara better than Fox.
Oooh, what a neat way to incorporate Space Armada into all this as the penultimate level in this arc.
SPOILERS:
I knew that twist of the knife was coming with Fara and it still stung. Damn.
Bravo, excellent work as always
Fara didn’t need to die.
Star Fox has evolved past the original pitch of "a game where every level is a Thunderbirds episode" to "a game where each level is like the Battle of Endor"
A small fan game understands Star Fox game essence and knows how to evolve it better than big developers like Namco or Platinum Games. How ironic.
How do the levels compare to Thunderbirds? HAve'nt sene much of that show.
Well said @crism8868
Fox is secretly crying in his cockpit. His girlfriend gone and killed in front of his own eyes.
Yooo I see that Cerberus logo
Mass Effect fan? +Rep
@@the_moon_wolfy Yep.
I thought Andross would kill her, not Shears.
Fara fought with honor 'worf'
Man I'm gonna miss Fara so much
Me too... I was about to let my Star Fox OC hang out with her. Damn you, Shears!!!
Oooh, I notice you've got enemy ships flashing red when damaged now! Nicely old-school.
not just old school, the previous lack of feedback on Hits felt terrible in my opinion. glad to see that change
He's likely not the only mole.
Shears's men must be that loyal to turncoat. Damn or killed them all and replaced them.
Edit...or *Both*
It be interesting if he was actually a good CO to his crew to the point he gained their unquestionable loyalty
Aight. I'm hooked. Wtf man you made this GOOD.
this was AWESOME! suspenseful and the break into the full battle was incredible to watch. Star Fox has the best fans!
If Nephalim (or whatever he goes by now) is smart, he’ll adapt Command out and take the story in a new direction.
@@Trainlover1995 I hope so. I really didn't like Command's story. In fact, I kind of figured Fox and Krystal would be engaged or married, by the time Assault begins.
@@Trainlover1995 he is, Command doesn't take form at all, instead it becomes about Falyf and other Cerinians after the Aparoids are defeated.
@@Z95HeadHunter Good, that’s very good. Command’s story is impossible to make sense of.
I'm just gonna say it. I know this mission will have voice overs in the future but so far you feel the tension alone with the story telling and the music.
DAMN YOU SHEARS!!!

Fox working for what's in essence a Junta. That I wasn't expecting.
I mean we never see a civilian leadership for Corneria, just General Pepper in the entire Star Fox series I believe. So yea Corneria has a military government of sorts.
@@WarsieThe civilian government is actually mentioned in the credits of Assault where the scope of the damage on each level is discussed.
Yeah
The big difference is very Lodoss:
Pepper wants to make allies in order to get influence in planets (like Aquans)
While Andross just wants to overrun everything by force and 'fix it' whether they consent or not
I love how you included the Granby from Star Fox Zero.
You really captured the helpess feeling there...
I am excited to see where Fox's anger takes him and how it'll affect the next chapter with Krystal too!

This is a fricken Blockbuster! Man, you knock it out of the Lylat system!
Fara and Wolf having a prior relationship? Plot thickens.
Makes me wonder if there's going to be a future teammup between Fox and Wolf against Shears.
With the way Freespace is, It'd probably be very hard to get the AI to work properly in such a tight space
Just as I figured, Shears’ betrayal and Fara’s death; in the same mission.
That was chaotic in the best way possible. Well done.
I really hope this project will get full voice acting, or at least some snes style blips to differentiate which character is talking.
Spoiler ALERT :
I feel sad for Fara but LT. Wyvern... This man continued to fight until the last moment and told his men to flee at the last moment to survive, and he died on the spot. I respected.
I admit that L. Wyvern was a worthy opponent. I was kind of hoping that he would be a key part of the Venomian remnant after Andross's death.

This is basically like the Spider-Man formula. Peter Parker's first love interest was Gwen Stacy, and just like Fara she also died.
No, it shouldn’t be like that.
That was some really good work I just wish Star Fox was more in the major community
I've been following the development of this masterpiece since before the beta iteration of the Andross battle, speaking of which, I hope you keep the part about "I will fill Lylat with my face and my glory!" in the final version. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing Andross get blown up.
well atleast Faras absence is explained I wasn't expecting that.
Damn, didn't see Fara's death coming at all. Or Shears turning his back on the Cornerian army this early on, given how there's the Farewell beloved Falco comic that takes place 4 years after the Lylat Wars in the Star Fox timeline. But then again, he has acted rather rude to the team.
holy moley! Fara got flatlined???
The only thing missing imo is the other characters reacting to fara being shot down.
Like...they do acknowledge it as the mission goes , but only Fox says something when her ship gets blown. I think you should add some lines in there as well.
Doesnt need to be elaborate but to at least show shock...like
Peppy: No!
Great job regardless
why does her death have to be some cheezy self sacrifice? its not a novel its a warzone god damnit.
That beam looks pretty powerful, I don't think Fara sacrificing herself would fully block the beam (that looks like an anti ship weapon(
This mission is nuts! And, man, I've never seen Fox so angry before. R.I.P. poor Fara.
...I hate being right...

Oh damn, Fara was foreshadowing this from past missions been the most critical towards Sheers. DAMN
Seen this a few times already, but HOLY SMOKES. You’re doing a better Star Fox game that Nintendo could ever do!
Minor error, I noticed: Wolf: "Looks like we're even on that front that now, eh McCloud?" Used one too many 'that'. But still, great update.^^
I wish that didn't happen, it made me remembered Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War. R.I.P Fara Phoenix and Alvin H. Davenport my two favorite wingman 😭👍
This game looks absolutely incredible!!
Star Fox has always given me a Star Wars feel. It's Star Wars with humanoid nonhuman creatures
Both have been aiding Krystal’s fight against the Sharpclaws and will play a key role later on.
this is getting better and better! love it!
Epic. Gives me dynasty warrior vibes with the open battlefield and there being so many allies
DAMN YOU SHEARS!!! Poor Fara...
Excellent work EH team!
Oh, man...! I didn't think he'd fire directly at *her* like that. Unless he was intending to take them out one by one, saving Fox for last.
Boy, did Fox make the right call, having Slippy hang back. Although I'm guessing he's going to resent Slippy for a while, for not fixing *her* engines first.
Well Fox didn’t tell Slippy to fix Fara’s engines first…I think it’s more likely he will blame himself?
Poor fara, hope the creators reconsider and bring her to life again like Capcom did with Jill in Resident evil 5In addition, Fara could be given as a kind of guide/older sister for Krystal.
