    I'm surprised you didn't include Dinosaur Planet on the list. Since the leaked build was already transitioning into being a starfox ip and is still distinctly different from the final StarFox Adventures. Such as Randorn having once been a member of the James StarFox team, the Krazoa turning out to be evil, Drakor being the story's main antagonist, the Majestic Eight planets, existence of humans, and other differences.

    That was definitely interesting. Too bad the Assault related stuff was cut. That game was my favorite in the series and if they built on that formula you’d be able to keep things fresh, while staying true to the series’s roots. Hopefully if the rumored Assault remake (all based on a job listing from Namco about remaking GameCube games for the Switch and since they made Assault people assume that could be on the list. We won’t know if it’s real or just wild speculation for a few years) is real they’ll add that kind of stuff to the multiplayer and make it work online. You’d also have the opportunity to update the graphics and fix various small issues with the original while remaining mostly faithful to the original. Throw in a few new weapons (make them crazy and fill their own role in the sandbox like what Halo CE and Half-Life 1/Expansions did), and some extra characters to the mode and you’d be golden.
    It’s so weird how Nintendo cancelled various projects that could’ve easily revitalized the series. Apparently the reason they cancelled the Wii game is because Miyamoto couldn’t think of a way to make the gameplay have a new gimmick even though it was not needed. Just copy how that Sun and Punishment game did things.
    Hopefully one day leaked builds of these games will surface. I hope that if there is a new game in the works they’re having the Battle for Atlas team working on it.
    Good video. I didn’t know about half of these.

      Nintendo with star fox:
      Gimmick first, the series dead last
      But seriously I would love for ubisoft to work on a new game too.

      It’s amazing just how badly Nintendo has managed this potentially great series. Ubisoft has a lot of problems, but I agree wholeheartedly that having another Starlink style experience would be great. Just polish up what doesn’t work super well and apply a Star Fox skin to it and you’d have an amazing experience. Hopefully that happens. If not we at least have Star Fox Event Horizon to hold us over.

    Really interesting, some of these cancelled games I was aware of. But there is some on here that I had never heard of before.
    Plus I think your on to something with Starfox wii. Never made sense to me why we never got a title on wii, but knowing how tight lipped Nintendo is on cancelled and pre-release versions of games. It would take another event similar to the giga leak to ever get solid evidence of it's existence, which is sad. 😥

    1:29 I swear. Nintendo just needs to hand Dylan the Keys to the StarFox series. As this is about the only guy who actually Cares about Making Games for this Series without Rehashing Old Ground! As Much as I can like some Ideas that Get pushed forwards in The Starfox series, there’s a lot, A LOT of Room for Improvement! And this Series is just having all its potential Squandered at this point! Doesn’t help that Nintendo won’t release this series outside to other gaming Platforms! The Stranglehold is f*cking unreal at times!

    12:41 this bit of your videos is strange to me. Sure, you can make any game be anything if you want it to. Nintendo, Miyamoto, Imamura and Platinum wanted to make a Star Fox game that includes shooting to the sides when they worked on Zero. That has nothing to do with Sakurai and his preference when he worked on Kid Icarus. At that time Star Fox was purely shoot-where-you-aim. Apparently he wanted to make a game that features more dynamic camera movement and therefor he had two options. Either take the KI-IP which is practically undefined and offers him total creative freedom or use the SF-IP which comes with fan expectations and certain restrictions to game design if he wants to meet those expectations. He made a different decision from the people who years later developed Zero, probably because he did not want to twist Star Fox into something it has not been up to that point. I can respect that and I really don't consider this an excuse.
    Star Fox is a specific type of rail shooter. Kid Icarus is a different type of rail shooter. They play very differently and I prefer to let franchises be their own thing.

    • @kurokamina8429
      @kurokamina8429 9 месяцев назад +1

      hard to tell really, StarFox unfortunately doesn't really have clean data to determine that with the acceptation of the snes Star Fox. StarFox 64 is the best selling Starfox game but was it because people were excited about it or were they excited about the rumble back bundled in it. StarFox Adventures did do well but not as well but was it because the fans thought they were going to get more of the same but with a twist or was it because its an adventure game, or even the fact that the GB didn't do as well as they wanted it to? For Star Fox Assault did people get it because they were hoping it would be back to form? Because they weren't bothered by adventures or the early beta shown off earlier or something else, or did it not do well because it was at the end of the GB life cycle? Star Fox Command sold even less but was it again not LIKE 64 or was it because the gameplay and story is not what fans wanted or that its coverage was greatly overshadowed by the reveal of the Wii. Star Fox 64 3D did better then Command but didn't even reach Assaults numbers but was that because it was a remake of 64, it coming out on the 3ds which didn't do as well as the DS, or the reception of the previous games? Then there is Star Fox Zero, its 64s story again, unclear if its a remake, reboot, or just simply a reimagining coming out on a dead console having the force motion controls and no online multiplayer.
      Even cameos can't escape the messy data. Basically nobody cared about Starlink Battle for Atlas until Fox showed up to be playable. 80% of its sales were on the switch because Fox was only available on that version but it still didn't do as well as its an open world game made by Ubisoft which is very rocky with open world games and came late to the toys to life party. Star Fox just gets bad hands too many times
