Rather than cutting the ribs out of the silicone insert completely, I've been using a paper hole punch to punch holes in the outer ribs. This method gives me the ability to tune the insert according to the needs of the truck.
Great series Of upgrades, A suggestion is leave the insert in the front and try the standard foams in the rear or cut the rears like the fronts nor even rear softer
Absolutely enjoying the semester of how to and what to. And tracking the chapters to compare the enhancements and achievements. This is a great learning opportunity. Thank you. Not many will explain they just want to tell you how everything they touch is wonderful. 👉
Thank you Mr.C...got the wife to watch this series because she has a stock sport...ive done major mods on all my trx4's...shes into it these lite mods.
Tried the silicone inserts but they gave my tire too much squish and didn't fill out the tire foot print very well. Made turning stupid wide. Vented my tires and tossed my pro line foams back in and have just came to the decision that I'll just buy new foams when I need to.
@dirtybauer7022 I'm meaning did you get the insert meant to be used for the tire diameter. I know i was looking at the injora silicones and there not the right size by a small amount I can't remember specifically but they do come in different outlet diameter to match up to the tires to use them with
oh i thought for sure some springs and maybe knuckle weights first. foams didnt look too horrible at all last episode. AMK link says RED BLUE for a 16LB HARD, Pink Green for 13lb SOFT not sure on those numbers but dang seems extreme lol. Plastic wheels do work. Trim and remove all the weight possible :) then do inserts lightweight always.
I don’t know who is making up those numbers, but the blue feels really close to an Injora blue. I’ve yet to meet a non-Injora silicone that isn’t one density.
Cool, I have a couple trx4 sports. A cheap 1200 Fusion is a night and day difference, but I can appreciate what you’re doing, don’t always have to throw money at it. It’s a fun rig , very versatile and tough as nails. Look forward to the next episode 👍
This is my third “how to cut” CT installment, but I’m so bad at naming videos that no one can find them. That’s fine, I have no problem making it again.
Perfect timing for the series, I just got my hands on a txr4 stock and following along and everything you have said has answered so many of my questions! Thanks for all your hard work!
Brushed is, like it or not, dead. Between Fusion SEs and bargain outrunner combos, staying with brushed is basically a vanity choice. This guy certainly isn’t gonna have a Titan in him forever.
It's gonna be that same old problem, as this guy is gonna go less spring and more unsprung, so those springs are gonna keep feeling stiffer and stiffer. Traxxas only makes one rate softer, and there's only about 3 springs softer than that in 13mm, so springing is gonna be a constant thing with this series.
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

Love the series, HATE silicone inserts. The hop, rebound, rotational mass and unpredictably are no excuse for saving a few bucks when timtins exist. Trail basher or creek rig, sure, go nuts. Love when you're crawling and the rocks suddenly transmorf into a trampoline? Sure, why not?
If tires are shoes, and inserts are socks, wheels are feet, right? Its what receives the "motion?", but doesnt contact the ground directly (unless you are the lizard king and you walk barefoot on rocks) I hate red diff covers, is it that hard to leave them black? Why paint it red? It looks so ugly to me
The effects of link separation are not a myth. The idea that you can just slap a link riser on every rig and perform a magical transformation is 100% myth. Luckily they’re cheap, so it’s a small investment to try it.
I’ve purchased about half a dozen “non-Injora” silicone inserts from about as many sellers, and regardless of color, they’re all identical. If there are multiple rates, that’s a new one. Fimonda makes 4 colors, all identical density.
@@CrawlerCanyon gotcha. I've accidentally hit on a setup that just works on my local crawling spot in Corona Del Mar beach....Injora blue on G8 Proline Krawlers for my VRD Carbon. Quite happy as it handily outperformed my other set on the same tire but with the fancy Squid 3D inserts. Pleasantly surprised since most don't have anything nice to say about my Injora inserts

I run the BFG Krawlers in a G8 compound.

Enjoying this series so far. Getting there, step by step.

Did you size the foam to the tire right?
@@Organized-_-Chaos the silicone inserts can't be sized to the tire. I use the pro line foams that come with pro line tires.

It helps if you have some one help hold the heat gun. 👍🏻
Evening!
Boom baby!
for bumpers, use the Vanquish VS410 Pro plastic tube bumpers. $14 bucks and tucks in nicely with slight body trimming
I wonder how cutting off the outer ring of a silicone insert and replacing it with foam would work out.
I haven't tried it before, but I might have to try it now.

Even the gray ones are better. Just knowing that they also make black ones makes the red ones just that much worse.
To bad tire companies don't call you and ask your advice on new tires.
Compound and tire pattern.

If ya can raise da rear links dat are attached to da chassis it should help push da front end down= more grip in da front imo
