I am in no sense a professional reader, voice actor, or what have you. I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.
Also I should give full credit to my cat, Claudio, for the frequent background meows and purring sounds you hear throughout.

After all the torture Theon has gone through just to remember Euron who he hasn't seen in years in terror just shows how menacing the Crow's Eye truly is.
Given the reveal in the Forsaken its not hard to imagine why
At this point, only Bran, Stannis and Jon (If he's resurrected) are capable of stopping the Crow's Eye!

31:58 I like how Stannis doesn't get offended any time Theon demands to be called Theon and even relents even though any other ruler would feel insulted by the insolence of being spoken back to not only by someone less than them but also by a disgraced prisoner such as Theon. I take this as Stannis respecting the strength of character Theon would need to have in order to be making ANY demands in the position he's in.

I think, for Stannis, it was also a moot point. The only is dead either way, so why not grant him this much. Either way, it was a great catch. 👍

The whole part with Yara is her quietly calling out stannis’ bluff while threatening him in return.
If you get someone hanging chained and completely at your mercy, you have to be really insecure to take offense of how they address you

The battle in the ice, the battle of storm's end, Slavers Bay and the naval battle of the arbor. No wonder it takes a decade to conclude a book that epic.
This is going to be 100x better than ASOS!
If he was working on it for a decade I'd be as optimistic as you but I just don't know how much time he spends on asoiaf anymore.
@@beesmitty3435actually it's not just the content. He wrote the previous books in three or four years each. He requires his home, in solitude to write the novels. He cannot write anywhere like a hotel room or in travelling in a plane like some others could. ADWD was released in 2011, the year the show started to air. After that he was frequently on travel as an invitee to one program to another which he gets tempted to accept or gets busy with the discussions with the writers regarding the show's writing and others. This also is another reason for the delay of TWOW.
It's taking so long because George doesn't write a book; he borderline writes multiple versions of a book before deciding which one reads better. (Mild exaggeration, but he apparently does that for multiple chapters)

Man in the beginning of this journey y’all I all but HATED Theon for his amazingly inconsiderate and cocky ways (and only felt for him bcuz obviously he’s been a hostage since he was a lil kid).
But now, he might be one of my favorite characters. He’s got so much depth. And even though he killed those kids, his perseverance and obvious longing of the heart to seek and do right and be accepted is touching.
He's one of the best written characters, but I hate that Martin did much dirty on him.

Even though Stannis dies in the show I can’t stop myself from rooting for him in the books. What an awesome character Stannis the menace is!!
I have a feeling he may survive the books… but idky lol you’d think, even if he survives the battle of ice, and Mel tells him snow is azor ahai, he’d still see the throne as his…. He’s got a lot of adversity, but Stannis seems unstoppable somehow.
I think Stannis Defeats Roose but then gets killed by the White walkers leaving winterfell in the hands of Ramsay to make room for the battle of the bastards
Stannis has to lose. He has no place in prophecy. He isn't Azor Ahai, the realm doesn't want him as king, he has an unrealistic amount of campaigning before him to conquer King's Landing, Aegon has conqured more land and acquired more troops in lesser time, and this is all before Daenerys' three dragons.
Stannis could defeat the others, but not ramseys 20 of house goodman.
I love Stannis but I can't see him surviving until the end. Besides he saw himself in the flames, totally consumed by the crown.
I bet Manderly will use and support him and Davos until he has Rickon in his hands, after that he just will backstabb them and Stannis will fight for the crown even if he does It alone, and that's how he will end.

Theon’s journey from the first Reek chapter has been one of the best in the whole series. Great read through as well, though I do recommend throwing it on 1.25x speed
Bran and his ravens are so going to save Theon from the northman and from Stannis. It's amazing how much Theon grew, became my favorite character! Really looking forward to see more of him in Winds of Winter!
How is Bran going to save Theon exactly?
Hopefully bran has the ravens attack the Frey host while Ramsey falls through the holes in the lake coverd up.
My first thought was. “The trees want blood. Brand wants blood. He’s tasted it before…”
Or he will have a sacrifice.

I think he saw his own death in the flames he was staring at in the asha chapters.

GRRM masterful writing: Stannis proclaims Shireen as his heir for the Iron Throne and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
Dumb and Dumber's dumbass writing: Stannis burns Shireen alive because it got a little cold.
GRRM has confirmed that the Hodor twist as well as the Shireen twist are things he told D&D.
Ya'll ready for this? Instead of slaying Theon with his sword, something is going to go wrong and someone will be killed by a bronze weapon and awaken the wrath of the old gods.
Maybe Asha is trying to deceive Stannis because she plans to give Theon to the Night's Watch and took him back at the right moment for her plans to usurp Euron as the King of the Iron Islands!
You know I really hope you read the entire book when (if) it releases. Roy Dotrice, bless his soul, can never be replaced, but your voice is definitely my favourite by far compared to others.

@@Losbil6972 Because he's pretending to be Aegon VI when in reality, he's (possibly) a Blackfyre, a "false dragon", the Targaryen loyalists used to call them during the rebellions!
Daemon Blackfyre was literally Targaryen on both sides

It is my favorite also. I love every thought and conversation. There are many clues hidden within the dialogue. Stannis is great, so is Theon. Theon is a smart politician as well after being humbled. He misses nothing, catches everything and has a great mind for martial arts.
"It may be that we shall lose this battle," the king said grimly. "In Braavos you may hear that I am dead. It may even be true. You shall find my sellswords nonetheless." The knight hesitated. "Your Grace, if you are dead - " " - you will avenge my death, and seat my daughter on the Iron Throne. Or die in the attempt."
"We all know what my brother would do. Robert would gallop up to the gates of Winterfell alone, break them with his Warhammer, and ride through the rubble to slay Roose Bolton with his left hand and the Bastard with his right. I'm really missing new material on this channel. Because everything is so good. David has a great audio voice especially for the material. You could read Fire and Blood book 1. Or even the World of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Why tf doesn't theon tell stanis that bran and rickon are still alive.
Because if Stannis loses the battle and is captured, something not too unlikely, since his army is literally starving, the Boltons would learn of the truth as well.

Maybe Theon, alongside Shireen, will be the deaths necessary to ressurrect Jon, Theon as a sacrifice for the Old Gods of the North and Shireen as a sacrifice for the Lord of the Light, a ressurrection of Ice and Fire!

I don't believe Theon is going to die just yet. He's been given his Ironborn identity, and his power back. To do what? I don't think it's just to die. I think something is going to happen; some kind of weirwood intervention to prevent Theon's execution. Bran might have something to do with it.

He’d meet his end and complete his character arc.
I could see the chapter being called “Theon Greyjoy” to symbolize that. He gets to die as Theon Greyjoy after breaking free of his torture and abuse and helping in his own way to cause the Bolton’s downfall

I couldn’t tell you what a Greek accent sounds like, but I’ve watched enough cartoons to do a very VERY broad version of an Italian accent.

Before this, I never remember how dark this chapter was. This was like the 2nd winds chapter released.
Last we hear from my favorite character until Winds, if/when it releases :( - Wondering, do you think Ramsay's letter to Jon speaks the truth, and Stannis loses against the Boltons? Or how will that shake out? I don't see the immediate use that lying to Jon about that would accomplish

Alys Karsktark told Jon about the betrayal, and Jon told the braavosi banker Tycho Nestoris to tell Stannis. Also, Theon confirmed having seen Arnolf Karstark in the Dreadfort in his first chapter in Dance.
Arnolf Karstark 'claims' to support Stannis but actually supports the Boltons so he becomes Lord of Karhold.
