Damphair was the pov character that I despised the most, and then came The Forsaken... George is brilliant here, and this chapter alone is better than all the later seasons of the tv show. Euron is a monster, no wonders both Aeron and Victarion are so messed up, he really ruined their lives, especially Aeron with all the abuse and torment. Imagine growing up finding a voice for yourself, building a life and then becoming captive of the same man who abused you as child, it's the worst nightmare to be trapped on. Hoping that we get better times for Aeron Damphair when Winds finally comes!

I found your channel back in November, listened through the series once, then through the Dunk and Egg tales for the first time, then couldn't help but listen through it all again. Mother of all chapters 😍 Euron's voice changing from a man to a god was epic. I'm really worried for Sam and Gilly and Aemon steelsong and Alleras who are out and about in Oldtown.
Aeron Greyjoy assuring Falia Flowers that they will feast in the Drowned God's watery halls together when they're tied to the prow of the Silence sounds very reminiscent of Jesus telling the repentant criminal being crucified next to him that he will be with him in Paradise.
Alot of parallels between Aeron and Theon... Both abused by their older brother although Aeron was much worse Both were womanizers Both have been tortured by people they once trusted And both fear the prospect of being kinslayers I wonder if Theon might be a symbolically a priest of the old gods (Bran & Blood raven) 😢just as Aeron is with the drowned god he did pray to the heart tree and it did reply to him so maybe.... I'm looking forward to them meeting each other assuming they survive Also Eurons mutes which Preston Jacobs thinks they're telepathically connected with each other remind me of Blood Ravens ravens teeth from fire and blood who were so loyal to him that they all went to the wall with him when Egg banished him were they telepathically connected to Blood Raven and each other just as Euron's mutes are connected to each other... Something to think about while we wait for winds of winter
Euron has to be one of the most terrifying characters I've read about. I really hope his actions have significant consequences, and that he just doesn't die stupidly. Imagine if he is allied with the "Great Other"...Would love to see Bloodraven conversing with Euron and taking him on

If these books are ever finished they could become one of thr greatest series of books of all time in my opinion. So many brilliant plotlines all impacting each other in some way, if they can all reach a solid conclusion GRRM would be one of the greatest authors of all time.
Honestly Brandon Sanderson did such a good job with finishing Wheel of Time I wish George would just give him the plot points and hire him to ghost write so we can get our books. I think Brandon could manage it, at least if GRRM isn't interested in doing it himself.
This chapter gave me nightmares for three consecutive nights when I first read it. Even now, I find it incredibly uncomfortable to read and the last part where Aeron sees Euron’s wife without her tongue still makes me so sad. Definitely my favorite chapter

Just finished listening to all of the books, i can't thank you enough for doing this! the voices you gave the characters, although weird at times helped a lot to distinguish each character talking, I barely had to rewind any times. The little details of audio editing for the big set piece moments come a long way of enhancing the experience and burnt them into my head in a way that my ESL adhd ass could not have grasped by reading it. Gotta also compliment the performances that were very powerful at times, you fucking nailed the Septo Merybald "broken men" speech and Manderly's "The North remembers" speech; amongst others that i also wanted to comment on but got too excited for the next chapter to stop and write a couple lines, so i'm doing it now. As for recommendations on what to read next, i saw you liked the idea of a medieval world that turns out to be a post-apoc scifi story, so maybe the Book of the New Sun series? Just throwing it out there, Thanks again, David.

Heck, he must on the level with the Mountain and Ramsay!! Somebody needs to put an axe through his skull ASAP!!! PS 1: During the battle with Paxter's fleet, I'd LOVE it if Aeron and Falia managed to swim away from the Silence and were rescued by the Redwyne men! They can't perish like this!! It'd be swell if they survived long enough to see Euron's downfall!!! PS 2: Much obliged for this, mr. David! Congratulations on the Crow's Eye's fitting demonic voice in Aeron's 1st nightmare!!

what I love about ASOIAF is how it critiques Systemic Injustice without devolving into Classist Tropes that Racialise the elite. Instead, George opted to show how Hierarchical systems turn those who could've been decent people into Monsters. What I despise about the Show and a particular sect of readers & watchers alike is how they ignore the Systemic Injustice and choose to idealise characters like Tyrion but demonise characters such as Cersei despite both being equally vile in their ignorant spite for one another.
Tyrion's spite for Cersei comes from her treating him like human garbage since the day he was born. Cersei's spite for Tyrion comes from the fact that their mom died giving birth to him. And Tywin's passive, if sometimes proactive, influence on her spitefulness towards Tyrion. I'd say Cersei's spite is far more "ignorant".
Is Tyrion equally vile to Cersi? I don't think so. Tyrion overall is portrayed as a decent person who has done a few evil things, generally out of grief and trauma over how he has been treated his whole life. Cersi is spiteful and awful to everyone, even those she apparently hates

And he becomes a victim of his own sadistic hedonism. I love when it sounds like he's trying to listen to the Drowned God when he's answering his own question as to who should rule the Iron Islands even after his own king's moot plan is foiled. He's such a fantastic fanatic fool. George writes of such people perfectly.

Before I tell you how great your reading is, I have to mention Thoros of Myr sounds like an Upper East Side caricature and Kraznys was supremely irritating. Putting that aside, your American accents were a brilliant choice and you are a champ at voicing dozens of characters with a great deal of variety. Jon, Jaime, and the Starks all sound natural and true. You are AWESOME for doing this and I've spent hours with you reliving these stories. I look forward to more uploads. How about Watership Down?
I loved his Thoros and Craznys voices. His Thoros sounds like Uncle Iroh from avatar to me, witch is perfect. And Craznys is an anoying piece of shit slaver. His voice realy captures his character to me.

Dont loose hope my man, 10 years isnt crazy when you realise George has to write both winds and figure and write at least most of spring. Most gardener style writers like george take the longest when writing last books.
I have hope for winds to b released But I have zero hope that he writes a dream of spring. I know he shot this down but maybe somebody else finishes ADOS but we will see. I just want winds so bad and a couple more dunk and egg.

I believe winds of winter will come out eventually in the next few years but people who think ADOS is gonna take another decade to come out and possibly grrm will die before but I think TWOW is really what’s giving him the trouble I think once that is done and over with ADOS will be easier to write then the latter
It would be insane to see Euron vs Aegon the First and Balerion. At this point the Iron Throne could have consecrated the godhood of Aegon through faith.

Dont loose hope my man, 10 years isnt crazy when you realise George has to write both winds and figure and write at least most of spring. Most gardener style writers like george take the longest when writing last books.

I believe winds of winter will come out eventually in the next few years but people who think ADOS is gonna take another decade to come out and possibly grrm will die before but I think TWOW is really what’s giving him the trouble I think once that is done and over with ADOS will be easier to write then the latter
