I dont recall as I dont really have the eyes for it, but one pro boxer said that combination was successful because through out the fight Tank was actually throwing lead hook, cross. With the Cross he was conditioning his opponent to duck and once his opponent started comfortable ducking the cross Tank then switches it to lead hook - uppercut. Thats just brilliant!
Inoue uses this combination, one of my favorites to use.

This strategy works for pretty much every combo! Condition your opponent to react a certain way, then punish them for it.
