DiagnoseDan Hello Dan, i'm following you a few months. I like the way you solve the problems. I need your help. I have a passat 2.0 tdi model 2008. Two days ago,had a problem with electric power steering. The code is 00569 and the description:current on the steering motor, electrical circuit permanently open. I would appreciate any help. Thank you for your time.
George K, I would like to help of course. But it's tricky to go just by codes. To know for sure what's wrong a proper diagnosis must be performed. The electric motor,Power and grounds need to be checked.😎
Alot of garages might have jumped straight into replacing coil packs/ plugs/ injectors or even fuel pumps! Dan always demonstrates how important it is to take your time and interpret the data in front of us. Genius as always Dan!!!
For my sins, I went and bought a Benz CL600 m137 2002 that had been sitting for 4 years and before that, zero maintenance other than oil and filters. It was a non runner. It has symptoms in symptoms and issues that have compounded and spawned new super issues! Finding this channel is my saviour
Dan, you're amazing. I am an avid watcher of Scanner Danner and have learned a huge amount from his channel. Thing is he mainly deals with US machines, very nice but not relevant here in the UK. So when I found you it was gr8 to find someone just as amazing as Paul but on cars relevant to Europe. Huge thank you for everything you share with us. Gr8 vidz, educational, entertaining and fun to watch‼️
To further support Alec's comment, I'm in the states and I'm a scannerdanner subscriber too. I think I've watched all of his videos multiple times and I have his book. Danner's video's have been very helpful to me as I do work on many of the models in his videos. He's excellent. I'm a man that can admit to my shortcomings though. The European cars have been a challenge to me. Until I found DiagnoseDan, I was kind of lost when it came to vehicles on the other side of the pond. lol. I've always known the Euro cars were essentially doing the same thing ours are, I just didn't know how. Thanks to DiagnoseDan, I've gained a huge amount of knowledge and a FUNDAMENTAL understanding of these systems. I'm no longer worried about taking on that BMW with a weird running problem. Thanks to you DiagnoseDan!!! YOU are definitely the European version of Scannerdanner. Coming from me, that is the highest compliment I can give anyone in this field. Thank you! Keep the videos coming. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you're doing to help all of us.
Just found your channel tonight, binge worthy!!!! Every tech needs to think like this, follow a process that reflects on how a system is designed and the symptoms should lead to discovery...... AND!!!!.... confirmation that the original problem is actually gone after the repair!!! Great job Dan!!!!
I'm so pleased to have discovered your channel. Your videos on car diagnostics are by far the most helpful I've viewed, and I've watched a lot. Thankyou for sharing your expertise and knowledge with us.
You have been by far my favorite RUclips Professor! You not only analyze customer inquiry but then walk through the troubleshooting procedure (In Full In depth Explainition which is Amazing) find the issue (Aswell explaining the reason why point of failure) repair the situation at hand and the fully confirm it working! Seriously you have made me a better mechanic, thank you so much for what you do!!!
As a machinist and engine builder, and one who loves diagnostics, Dan you have an excellent and thorough way of explaining everything. My former boss/mentor was the same way. Keep the videos coming.
What a guy Dan is. He thanks us for the good comments in the previous videos, when it is us that should be thanking him for every video this Legend makes and shares with us. Thank you DAN. 🤗🤗🤗
The best auto repairs RUclips videos I have ever seen. right now I am working on communication issue with drive train CAN on my Mercedes C250. Thanks you DiagnoseDan
Hey Dan, your style of diagnosis is the RIGHT way. I work for a fleet that runs on CNG and the misfires are so bad all we can do is clear and ship. Keep up the great learning experience!
Dan you saved me time on the c300 I bought for my son. After throwing coils and plugs at it ( never a bad idea) I still had codes. I ordered injectors (also not a bad idea with 108k) and after getting the fuel rails off and wiring loose enough, I figured the intake is much easier to R&R at this time. Sure enough the valve that controls the butterflies on the intake runners was completely broken. Much easier that reassembly and them removing all togas tedious wires and vacuum lines I’m well versed with American cars, you saved the day
Fantastic video Dan it's good to see repairs done on European cars. Your very informative and a great teacher. Much respect from a lifelong professional Tech in the uk👍
Thank you Dan. Don't know if I'll ever make it as a auto tech, but its fun watching. LOL. that look on your face when you did the brain work finding the vacuum leak and now the grunge work of fixing it. Great videos
Dan sir, you are officially a Master troubleshooter. Your analysis of scan data and pin pointing the problem is bang on. Thank you for taking the time to explain the whole process of finding the exact problem and component and explaining it to your viewers. This definitely is one of my favourite channels!
Been work on my w204 C300 for about a 2 weeks looking for the misfire and this video really helped me out a lot. Thanks for this piece of knowledge. Just ordered a new intake right now
Greetings Dan, the best diagnostic channel! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your knowledge and in such a didactic and understandable way. Greetings from Venezuela
Thanks , Dan , you are always the best one who is giving the the wright guides ti solve any problem , please to get your channel by accident and it becomes my favorite channel .
Mr. Amazing. Dan. Keep up y The great work. Videos and intel lenience . Your super smart and I believe my opinion , my opinion counts as I have also been a tech for over 25 years! You are a great inspiration to us all !!! Keep up the GREAT WORK !
Love your thorough and methodical approach to problem solving Dan. The intake manifold is a very common problem on the MB M272 engine. It is an awful design and to make matters worse you need to buy the whole unit from MB for stupid money. Usually it is the main (plastic!) tumbler lever that breaks first so surprised to see this one still intact. You can probably tell I have replaced a few of these manifolds. Keep up the great work!
Suggested one of youe videos for use in my class tomorrow becasue we are doing a course on the subject and youhave a really good diagnostic process. Thanks for taking the time to make videos. You just dont come across all possible problems in a school setting like you do in an expert shop like yours.
I am swedish and Im a student not a teacher. I was a little disapointed that my teacher didnt use your video. It was only a HVAC orientation course though. I do teach swedish to immigrants on a voulunteer basis though. We have cars in the school to work on but not enough to have the possibility to have a wide range of faults. That's wher guys Like you and Eric O come in, sharing knowledge really is valuable. Are you dutch or belgian?
Like the way you take the time you explain every step you take and the details....nicely done! As usual the Germans over engineer their intake....must have been expensive to replace
This is on of best video to p0300 lean condition on any car globally thanks sir for sharing valuables knowledge for those who really be a tech for auto
I'm a builder hoping to learn sufficient to stay informed and maybe do some of my own work now. I bought a 2008 6 series and the day after purchase engine management light diagnosis was for 6 new injectors. My garage allowed me to do the job at their workshop. However, when I found they had mixed injectors contrary to their info spec, and the air filter was many years old ( it was date stamped ), the trust dwindled. Recently I drove it through a ford and a load of lights came up afterward. Some guy diagnosed it saying it was not worth repairing. 6k waste of car. I don't think so. My garage don't seem interested. So here I am loving your vids Dan.
