ελλάδα and Iran are both from same culture.their languages are both indoeuropean and are deeply similar.they were at war, right, but two titans at war,Titans of culture indeed.you can find mutual influence everywhere,in music,in theater,in dances,in laments and lullabies,in ceremonies,in customs and traditions .even in their names and faces...
you know i am translating one of plato's dialogues from ancient greek to modern persian and i know that how much these two culture are deeply connected.

Your statement there that Greek persian culture are similar
Actually they even closer than you even can believe
I go back to the first meeting of these 2 culture on the plains of Anatolia
There was meeting between Cyrus and the Spartans. There Cyrus proclaimed that Persian came from a union of persons the son of the bringer of light and a Persian maiden
That like saying to the Greeks we are cousins

There is a very beautiful, touching, heartbreaking miniature Persian painting of Majnoun embracing the gravestone of Leila or Leyla. I have not seen that painting for about 3 decades, but it has never left my memory. It is one of the most romantic pictures I have ever seen. Truly magnificent.

...if you mean the lyrics it is Greek ! The melody though is based on a Persian traditional - it is a remake-so I guess it would be a bit different to the original! .....and yes ...Greece & the Middle East- Persia- & as far as Afghanistan & India...have exchanged cultural & musical ideas manly through commerce but also during long wars & occupations...
Thanks for listening anyway! Hope you liked it!
