Red Dead Redemption 2 vs Red Dead Online in 2024: Which is better?

- Red Dead Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode are both very well designed games, however after the RDR2 abandonment from Rockstar Games for GTA 6, which one is still worth playing in 2024, and which one is better for new players too?

Story mode BY FAR... online filled with cheaters and griefers and not much to do

Rode down from Strawberry to The Bastille Saloon, Saint Denis. Played Poker with 3 Buy-Ins, Got drunk and visted the Vaudeville Theatre. Got beaten up by Strongwoman Hortensia during the show in front of the audience and kicked into the back alley where a Legendary Fish is located south of St. Denis, at the Estuary of Kamassa River (which i managed to catch using a Special River Lure - Lannahechee River).
Love this! Just so many things to do 😆
I love RDO online due to the freedoms to do what you want and at in what order! To be able to make my own character is awesome!!👍🏼👍🏼

Assuming ur not playing alone or can get into private lobby’s lmfao. Rdo is like walking into a dark alley when a blue berry pop up on ur minimap. U don’t know if they would shoot u, rob u of ur goods, etc

Story mode is much more fun to play solo than online and it is also super good, but online is also super fun because me and my cousin play it alot and it is always super fun so solo is story mode and with people is online😊
They definitely both have their perks for sure. Just depends on personal preference I guess 🙌

It will be a crime if Rockstar never adds story mode DLC to this game. There is (sadly) plenty of time before RDR3 so it’s far from too late. We need to continually pressure Rockstar on this.

Started and finished my first playthrough a month ago. I had finished the story in under a week. Yes I admit that I rushed a bit but I wouldn’t change that for anything as that first experience going through the story like a movie is something I’ll never forget. However I just started my second playthrough with the intent of staying in chapter 3 for as long as I can because that was my favourite section with everything I love. And with this current playthrough I’m doing all the extra curricula stuff, most notably the second I got into chapter 2 I went straight for Legend of the East Satchel, a tough 13 hours considering that I did it without manual tag deadeye but it was fun as hell. I’m enjoying my second playthrough more in a gameplay standpoint, no discredit to my first time as that was fucking beyond beautiful to experience. That’s my two cents about the story, I know it’s not much but I just wanted to get that out

Yeah, like some Co-op story, also yeah we need all the horses and weapons from online in story mode and vice versa
