Before hanging himslef from the Yggdrasil he sacrificed his eye to drink from the Mímisbrunnr just to realise that he needs to impress the Nornir if he wants to know the secrets of the Runes. So he impaled himeslef on a spear and than hanged himself from the world tree, refusing drink and food for 9 days and 9 nights. This is important.

I am not seeing any reference to Ve being renamed Loki. Most of the lore I am reading states that Loki was the offspring of Fárbauti and Laufey. Odin and Loki are said to not be related, but Odin considered Loki a Blood-Brother. Is there some reference I am missing?

    • @eliasmarshallhistory

Check sources in description, think that came from “Norse myths and tales”
Granted the sources would disagree with each other at times … I admit that I did not do perfect research and the beginning especially is not as good.

No, Helblindi is not another name for Odin. 😅
Helblindi is one of Loki's biological siblings.
Loki's father was the giant Farbaute and his mother the giantess Laufey. His brothers were Byleist and Helblinde.
Although he was a Giant, he spent a great deal of time with the gods and even formed foster-brotherhood with Odin. (Brotherhood means that you were brought up together and practically see each other as brothers.) So Loki was not a biological sibling to Odin.
Which I think should be pretty obvious since Loki is a giant and Odin is a God, but anyway, now I'm done with correcting the misunderstandings. 😄
      Sincerely! 🙏🏻

Fillheim is German.. Norse mythology is Scandinavian. Yes the German was vikings then, but they're European. Also it's Odin, Villi and Ve, not Billy and Vai. AND IT'S VESTRI NOT WESTRI. It's Midgard, not Midgarde. Hvergelmir. Also Villi and Ve were never, NEVER renamed. They were just also called Honir and Lothur, not Loki. It's Askr and Embla, god dammit. And it's Asgard, not Asgarde, god is this Marvel? putting A in Norse names? god damn. Odin's ravens names are Huginn and Muninn, thought and memory is what they represent. Thor isn't Freyja/Frigg's son, he's a son of a jotun giantess and also Goddess, Jord/Fjorgyn. Baldr, Hermod and Hodr whom are children of Frigg/Freyja. Vidar/Vidarr being the son of Grid also a jotun giantess. Heimdall is also Odin's son, but he had 9 mothers who were sea maidens or also Jotnar of the water, Gjolp, Greip, Eistla, Eyrgjafa, Ulfrun, Angeyja, Imth, Antla, and Jarnsaxa. Also we don't know who Tyr's actualy father is, we either say it's Odin and another Jotun named Hymir. Tyr's mother is yet another Jotun, Hrodr. Loki is not Odin's son, Loki is the son of Laufey and Fárbauti. Loki is not an Aesir, he's a jotun, he was an ally with the Aesir. Loki becomes Odin's blood brother after tricking the blind god Hodr to shooting Baldr with the mistletoe. Also it's Suttungr. Ivaldi is the father of the Brokkr and Eitri, we don't know nothing about Ivaldi, but we know his sons are known as "Sons of Ivaldi", Ivaldi never made Sif's hair, Brokkr and Eitri did. Brokkr and Eitri did indeed create Odin's spear, Gungnir and his ring Draupnir. They did create the golden boar Gullinbursti for Freyr, but they also created Freyr's ship Skidbladnir, and what did they also create? Guess what? Thor's hammer Mjolnir. Loki was indeed impregnated by a horse named Svadilfari by shapeshifiting himself as a female horse, aka the father of Slepnir, Odin's eight-legged horse. Hel is indeed Loki's daughter (not sister.), It's Jormungandr, and he doesn't encircle Jotunheim, he grew up in Jotunheim sure, but he encircles Midgard, he is called the Midgard serpent for a reason, Fenrir/Hrodvitnir/Vanagandr was indeed a hungry wolf. Hel was actually sent to Helheim yeah, Jormungandr was thrown in the ocean, Fenrir had to be wrappd in a magical rope called Gleipnir, also created by Brokkr and Eitri. Fenrir was indeed in a island lake called Amsvartnir. Thor did wanted to slay Jormungandr, and yeah it didn't turn out well, until Ragnarok. Thor did in fact kill Hrungnir. Skoll and Hati Hrodvitnisson do in fact eat the Sun and the Moon. (Also they're the son of Fenrir and an unnamed giantess). Fenrir breaks free from Gleipnir, Loki breaks free from his imprisonment, Garm (Hel's wolf) escapes Helheim, the 3 giant roosters Gullinkambi, Vidopnir, and Fjalar crowing, Heimdall blowing Gjallarhorn, The ship Naglfar being completed so an army of draugrs, giants will be led by Loki and Hyrm, Surt crafting his flaming sword being completed, the fire giants destroying the Bifrost, Surt destroying Midgard, Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr destroying Yggdrasil. When Surt's sword burns out, everything will burn out, the ashes falling down like snow, Jormungandr's blood poisoning the entire sea life, the only humans who survived Ragnarok is Lif and Lifthrasir, the gods who do survive are Thor's sons Magni and Modi, Vidar, Vali, and Baldr is actually suppose to come back from the dead and become the new ruler of the Gods. Also also also, a jotun named Vafprudnir told a prophecy that Magni and Modi would wield Mjolnir together after Thor's death. And one thing, Thor is not blonde, he's red-headed. Some were right and wrong, this was good still.

In the poetic Edda: Odin Honir and Lodur.
In the prose Edda: Odin, Vili(Honir), Ve(Lodur).
Many times in Norse mythology the trio Odin, Honir, and Loki are frequently doing things together. In later medieval poems, such as Loka Táttur the names Loki and Lodur are used interchangeably in the same stanza multiple times referring to the same person.
What could this mean? Lodur’s name is connected to Germanic words for burning or fire. It is said in the eddas that Loki is Odin’s blood brother and long ago it was determined that not one of them would take a drink that was not also poured to the other. This could have something to do with the presence of fire in indo-European ritual. The theology of some Odinic myths are directly point-by-point comparable with certain Shiva-Rudraic theology from the Vedic culture that state that all the gods are really an aspect of one larger being. Odin is the king and binds everything and everyone together. When libations and sacrifices with blood are being made, as the drink is poured in the presence of and to Odin it shall also must be poured in the presence of fire.

What in the fuck does that mean?... Angels and Satan are from Judaism and Christianity.. Norse myth has nothing to do with religion, Thor had nothing to do with angels and neither "Satan" cause neither those three are real, and not from the same culture. Satan is a fallen angel, the closest thing to be like Satan that's evil would be Surt, which he is not a fallen angel, he's a fire giant. It's just a differet name for the same character, Thor's mother is Jord but her other name is Fjorgyn. Fenrir had other names, Hrodvitnir and sometimes was Vanagandr.

It's just another name for the same character, look at Thor's mother, her name is Jord but her other name is Fjorgyn, Fenrir has other names too, like Hrodvitnir and Vanagandr. Freya/Freyja is just another name for the same character Frigg. Also It's Frigg, not Frigga. Frigga is the Marvel comics spelling, the Norse spelling is without the letter A.

Thor's death will be a surrender not a slip up in mortal combat. Like Jesus Thor will surrender, that is how one wins like Jesus.

Why does everyone make Loki out to look elf like? Marvel did it too and its super annoying. He is a frost giant not an elf he should be ugly as described not Adonis like Thor.

Idaho was not even a state or anything yet before the 1st century AD. A million years ago, all the continents were connected.

One It's Frigg, the A is from Marvel's dumbass spelling which they did the same thing to Hela but her name is Hel. Two, Freyja is just another name for the same character. Thor's mother was Jord, but her name was also Fjorgyn. Same thing with Fenrir, he had other names like Hrodvitnir and sometimes Vanagandr.
