    5:00 about that, it’s important to note two things. One, people were far more likely to report sexual dysfunction when directly asked, and not just self reported. My understanding is that citalopram is worse.
    Secondly sexual dysfunction can have different levels of severity to complete loss of libido to difficulty reaching climax. Either way sucks of course but something to consider.

    I am Taiwanese. Medical care is not expensive under Taiwan's medical system, so I don't need to worry too much about the price of a new antidepressant. I have tried both drugs. I once complained to the doctor about my poor memory and cognitive function, so the doctor said that I can take Brintellix and it will improve. Afterwards I actually didn't feel anything, and I had intense worries because of the events of everyday life. The doctor decided to add Lexapro. But in the long run I found that the medication didn't help much. Most importantly, changes in daily life affect mood. As for Brintellix did not improve my cognitive function.

    Is Vortioxetine really that good on the other Neurotransmitters?
    Rather is just significantly good, being the strongest on Serotonin.
    Vortioxetine sounds a little too good to be that strong on all these Neurotransmitters, rather just in the Prefrontal Cortex.
    Vortioxetine sounds a little similar to Modafinil, but I doubt it's really more than significantly strong on all the other Neurotransmitters.
    Escitalopram was the worst for me since always, even before my first the strongest 3-4 months Antipsychotic Withdrawal, giving me just some jittering and not working great in the first 2 months (which now is very surprising, making me feel a lot worse during the first strongest Withdrawal and after, feeling the same symptoms after taking Escitalopram just several days, just half a pill, especially tired legs, but not as strong as the first Withdrawal symptoms).
    I don't understand why so many Psychiatrists start not with the weakest or the finest modulators, like Tianeptine (at least in Europe) or Sertraline.
    I think this is the main reason why not just I got high tolerance to SSRIs especially (Paroxetine, Escitalopram, Mirtazapine I also took, also the SNRI Duloxetine, Trazodone, Vilazodone, Sertraline and Tianeptine which is the only one which worked properly for me, but after the Withdrawal).
    Yeah maybe back then they were rather not strong enough, back then rather my Dopamine was the main problem, surely being very high, yet not so sure of it was too high or not.
    But, 4 months before the first strongest Withdrawal, I got Rispen, Orfiril also (not sure why) and another one I forgot its name, yet didn't feel anything, just a slight improvement of the mood but, rather naturally.
    After the first Withdrawal I didn't take anything at all for 6 months, I just consumed Alcohol several weeks after 3 months to see how I feel, but just tired and not pleased at all.
    Then, in the 4th month, clearly a massive Noradrenalin improvement occurred, naturally it seems, though.
    My muscular weakness got at less than 5% basically, my anxiety also not being at 25-50% strength as before, basically not being really anxious anymore, except some moments.
    I got much stronger and in that period of time, 1-2 months, I had a lot more energy even than now, despite now getting the extra umpfh from the gym.
    Then, in May 2022, after 3 months of Paroxetine, I got my second much weaker Withdrawal, but in which I was able to sleep with no problem at all, heh.
    Second time I got just the tired legs and not in the mood for anything, yet I was able to eat decently and of course I wasn't the same desperate and the same electrified like being on illegal stuff, which I never consumed.
    Then, in September 2022, I've started to feel significantly better and in October 2022 I've started to take Tianeptine, in 4 weeks starting to feel even better than January-February 2022 when I had that strong Noradrenalin improvement.
    But, I got strong common cold 3 times, second half of December and until the beginning of March not feeling that good anymore.
    Now, in the third month of Bupropion, I feel stronger and better overall, but clearly the Dopamine plus is still a little too much and I wonder if Vortioxetine won't be too strong in combination with Bupropion to be sure the Serotonin plus won't be too big for me.......

      Vortioxetine has less sedation. But you need to work on time management for preparing for exam, not a medication! This isn't a quick fix or stimulant medication. This is for depression treatment.

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  2 года назад +1

      I am sorry to hear this! Discuss these concerns with your provider. Their may be some other treatment options to consider that can help you. Benzos commonly have a dulling or "zombie" effect. Some patients will also report this with some antidepressants, so hard to say which is the cause. Either way you will need to come up with a safe taper plan with your provider if you decide to change or discontinue any medications.

    Which antidepressant has the least sexual side affects ? Please let me know, from Melbourne Australia

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  2 года назад +1

      Of these 2, Vortioxetine. However, Bupropion has the least sexual side effects of the antidepressants and is often used adjunctive to treat sexual side effects of other antidepressants.

    I am a patient with treatment-resistant depression. My doctor changed my anti-depressant from Escitalopram+mirtazapine to vortioxetine+mirtazapine.
    But I haven't changed for the better. I almost give up and feel hopeless. If you see this message. Please tell me how can I do with my treatment-resistant depression. Thanks.

    She is merely repeating what is written in the summary of the two medications. Doctors don’t even really know how these medications work. One mistake she makes is saying that one antidepressant is good for one issue and another is good for a different issue. That’s wrong! The only reason for this perception is that Lexapro has more studies on different psychological disorders, and Vortioxetine is new, so there haven’t been enough studies on various anxiety or depressive disorders yet.

    Try one that is off-patent, costs 1/10 the price, and is just another worthless SSRI. Prozac came out in 1987, and these so-called new SSRI drugs do the exact same thing. The only people they make happy are those who hold stock in drug companies.

      Interesting you said that because large RCTs show that Lexapro, Zoloft, Wellbutrin (Adjacent Therapy), Paxil, Effexor, Trintellix, Elavil, and Remeron are most effective for depression while Lexapro, Zoloft, Prozac, and Cymbalta are the most effective antidepressants for generalized anxiety disorder. But I always assumed Prozac was equally as effective as Zoloft for depression but I never really knew that for sure.

    I quit my low dose citalopram (10 mg) and started low dose vortioxetine (5mg) for a week now.
    I am experiencing irritation within the first hour of taking the vortioxetine. It lasts for about 2 or 3 hrs and then normal. Also I experience mild brain zaps during the whole day. Are this normal side effects of the vortioxetine? Will it change for the better? Thank you
