I love your attitude in this video.... Upbeat and getting done. One thing I would do differently. You use the needless to stretch the three feet or so both directions near the closet doorway. After that sequence I might have stretched away from that doorway towards the far end of the room, that's in reverse my stretcher into the closet and stretched along that same wall, the one with that 3/4" closet partition. Once finishing that long wall in the room and the wall inside the closet and around that partition I would have made my next stretch towards the hardwood. I would have followed up that stretch, with a stretch inside the closet in the same direction. The amount of tension you put across the closet doorway and, along the wall towards the hardwood could be equalized by stretching across the closet doorway inside the closet. I'm thinking once that done to stretch in the entire room and then strict in the closet like you did. My only thought here is to stretch parallels to the closet doorway inside the room first then inside the closet to be sure that stretching didn't cause a buckle on the left hand side of that closet doorway. That second stretch inside the closet, after making the long stretch towards the hardwood is the only thing that I would probably do different. Regardless though, you do awesome work and it's good to see people like you that care about what they're doing. ......so many shops and installers do not. That's what old age is for, having extremely high minimum chargers and restretching and fixing other people's screw UPS because they didn't care as much as you did. It's easier on the body and people think you are a god when you fix a problem that's been bothering them. I love your videos, keep them coming...... But don't do so at the loss of your livelihood which is getting the job done. You spend an awful lot of time on videos and I know it takes a lot of time setting up the camera which slows down your job a lot. I want you to make money, installing flooring so maybe keep the videos to a minimum so you can make money and save the videos for jobs that are difficult for special. You've got to make a living at this and if videos aren't paying anything or not paying enough then do your day job and save the videos for this special work where you want to do instruction. This one was definitely worth watching.
On all of my daily blogs I use my phone for video, so however long the video is that’s how long it takes to do the video, takes very little time out of my workday to do these blogs
I like it but it seems to cost three or four times what regular tack trip and you only get half as much. Tri-tack has three rows of pins, same as the commercial stuff, and it's narrower, redusing picture framing..... just in case somebody (retailer) picks the wrong pad. 😉 I'm talking about the retailer selling 7/16 or 1/2 inch padding for use underneath a thin looped pile or Berber carpet. Synthetic felt, 32 or 40 ounce pad rocks.
That’s why I got into commercial work and will never go back to residential just a lot more time consuming and a lot harder on your body but looks good that’s for sure
Thank you buddy , I agree with you to an extent, the thing about residential is you never have to deal with 150 foot rolls of carpet when it comes to positioning, seaming and such
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Is replacing all tack strip overdoing it? Fixing door jams is normal. If the client doesn't request new tack and doesn't pay extra why do it? I just want you to make more $ you deserve it.
Fantastic job as usual.
Thank you
I see why the owners wanted new carpet lol 9:35

Very true I guess they both have their pros and cons
I seen you using weld lock sealer I thought that was for direct glue down goods??
That’s just the bottle, I actually have para Bond latex in it
Are you still using the hot melt seam sealer?
Yes, however I am going to switch up for a little while so I can get good and comfortable using latex
Do u ever use extra wide strip or double up your stick
Double
Occasionally, depends on the carpet

Thanks man.. I love your content by the way.. keep it up
@@LuisC89 You’re welcome, thank you buddy
Would this tool work flor concrete subfloor or only wood floors?
@@LuisC89 This is not to replace the power stretcher, I simply use it to take the place of a knee kicker so I do not have to kick
Is there a reason you remove and replace tackstrips?
That way I can get the spacing proper It makes a huge visual difference
@@FloorsbySouthernboys I would agree with that if the Base board wasn't off the floor :)
What kind of ratchet pipe is that?
