Same! Same laptop and same exact fan blade. I called Lenovo to open a claim when my laptop was still under warranty (within 2-3 weeks of it ending) and they kept curving my calls until my warranty ended.

Great tutorial, I had that exact same noice on the fan, but my fan was barely dirty, instead I noticed that two of the fins on the right fan was kind of misplaced, I just putted back in place with the tweezers, anyway I also did the cleaning as you instructed and that was it. Thanks

MIN 25:48 that part that bends is like a plastic tape if you peel it off you expose the center of the fan, I put some oil on it and it's working fine, but that's half a solution because now you need to seal it back 🤷♂...btw thanks for video!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This was actually a really helpful comment, because you don't need to remove the heatsink at all. When you peel back the tape there is a tiny hole on the edge of the fan right where the blades meet the middle. You can see some copper wiring and perhaps a plastic bit where the fan rotates. Maybe a circuit board at the bottom. Something that looks like the end of screw in the middle. I wiggled some lightweight oil into the hole (difficult too do). Need to replace the tape. We'll see how long this holds. Did you try destroying the junk fan after replacing it to see if there is a method to repair it a little easier?.

Thanks for this helpful video. Did you know that the cost of the fan for this model is OBSCENE! One can get used versions of this computer model for *less than this simple part*! Yes, such computers are used, BUT THE COMPUTER ONE IS FIXING IS ALSO USED. So, it is LITERALLY cheaper to just buy another computer rather than the fan. That situation should not be. It seems extremely artificial and forced on the market. I suspect Lenovo did this on purpose or at least allowed to happen with disregard for the consequences felt by their customers. Good god, this enrages me. If I had known Lenovo would screw over its customers this bad, I would not have bought it. Consider me an HP customer from now on!

Hey how can I send you my laptop to help fix it? I have the same exact one as in this video. My problem is when I power it on the fan will start to blow and then give up and 1 of 2 things will happen. 1: it'll bring me to the login screen and i'll enter my password/fingerprint and it'll just freeze and not turn on 2: it'll say windows didn't start properly and im met with troubleshooting solutions to try but none of them work. it turned on today and was working for like 5 minutes and i tried updating windows + lenovo because maybe that's what's the issue and it just froze again. please help ! 😭😭😭😭😭
@@ItsBinhRepaired I left it open and on updating plugged in, when I returned it was off and no longer responsive. I tried the little reset button on back and holding the power button down. It will not show any signs of life.
Do you think I could with not replacing the thermal paste on the heat sink? I don't have any, and don't want to spend money on some since I will never use thermal paste again lol
If you can't tell from the video, I don't recommend you attempt it because you'll likely destroy your computer which will cost you more than a tube of thermal paste. Lol
If I had to explain the science behind everything, like, why you turn screws counterclockwise to remove them, why you have to remove them before taking things out, etc. The video would be much much longer. Lol What are you trying to repair?

That part number didn't match the actual part you eventually will need to order - Lenovo will find your laptop by serial number and list all of the parts. Not sure why you removed the batteries - unhook them. Why did you think you could remove the fan blade. You may have some experience doing this, but you still have a lot to learn.

Likely shorted out components :( if you're lucky, openening and drying it out might fix it, but likely it's dead.
