This 80’s Coronation Street is boring, useless, and most of the episodes of any year are unbelievable and make no sense! Bette is not Bette anymore! I skip over most of the content of all episodes, no matter what year! I will be going back to watching the ones from the 70’s and earlier, soon! I’m dying of boredom!

She does it to everyone, she's an aggressive person who starts shouting at virtually no provocation, mostly directed at poor Jack. She deserved to lose her job, her attitude sucks and she's inefficient. It's good that the writers softened Vera a lot as she got older, she was much nicer.
Is it just me or is Terry Duckworth becoming more and more unpleasant as the episodes role on? I used to think he was just a cheeky lad - now, he's just nasty.

Parents didn't bother cause the kids weren't clever and wouldn't go to school anyway. Different times, there was no help at school. Well not much.
She is annoying. I was thinking this was all about Sarah Fergusons time. Did they hire her to ad a touch of Sarah to the show? I find Jenny unattractive.
Susan was never deserving of mike's loyalty she begroaned at every twist and turn at him accusing him of being manipulative saying he only married her to bore him children. mike gave her everything that was going , and when she did get pregnant in year that follow she aborted his child .that's good loyal wife for you.
The addition of Alec Gilroy was a stroke of brilliance! A perfect foil for our Bett Im enjoying their storyline very much! The only bad point in the Corrie saga is the tedious Mavis & Derek Tragedy ! It should have ended a good 18mths ago, knocked on the head finito! Keeping up the rediculous Story line is boring & so old hat its embarrassing! They should have buried the idiot derek & brought Victor back in at least he had some pep & his madcap ideas were very funny The Rita & Alan Story line is a tad boring & droopy Mave the Rave & Derek should be put 6ft under Love Love Love Bett & Alec Also big cheers for the Gail & Bry - yunnn saga isnt too bad & its nice seeing gail with a backbone & giving mamas boy bri The run round. Love the little Websters, Kev & Sal are a breath of fresh air. Wish they would set Hilda up with a beau, an old friend of Stans would have been a good idea. They should stop bringing in mediocre families then disappearing them, The Curley & Terry story should be developed more A romantic interlude for Curley & one for Ivy Gloria is a good character but don't know how her story goes They lost the plot with Corrie later on from 2000 onwards The family values & good characters, its proves it by the poor audience for Corrie nowadays & the love for these old episodes! I agree with all your points, but I did like Mavis and Derek. The two of them were so eccentric and brought much comedy moments during their time on the soap. 2000 was the year I started to lose interest in Corrie. Cracks were starting to appear during the Brian Park era, although it still had a good balance of drama and comedy.
And the cop is soooo professional…. Never asks who was driving! Policing 101 surely. Poor Martin lying in bed, for the most part unconscious, and the only medical procedure we see is a thermometer put in his mouth!
Opposite scenario of Holly Wood bolly wood (overplay in latter) I'm sure they'll xray his skull, if he starts vomiting and passing out without any other reasons .... old school medical procedures
The car overturning….. poor scriptwriting, very predictable. They could have made more of it by using the occasion to get two very boring characters out of the show once and for all.

Interestingly, the original Kabin was right next door to Jim's Cafe but moved in 1990, and it was never mentioned what became of it despite the Cafe being still on screen for 9 more years.

Isn't that good of Percy? Taking it upon himself to go from house to house, on new years eve, to broadcast bad news, that could easily have kept until a later date. The old bastard didn't have the sense to realize he's putting a damper on folks celebrations, unnecessarily. That's most likely why he had no mates, or anybody that wanted him at their new years festivities.
